//------------------------------// // Chapter 6: Life Without Hearth's Warming // Story: Snowfall Frost and the Hearth's Warming Plan // by Musical_theatre_demon //------------------------------// Snowfall Frost observed all around her. Not an inch of regret filled her soul. She wanted this - - how she's waited so dang long to do this and she finally got what she wanted. The Holiday Takeover Lyrics No more holiday season Let's all rejoice without reason It's finally over The holiday takeover How are you? Honesty, I couldn't Be better With Hearth's Warming Out of view This day has been due For centuries Happy Hearth's Warming And all the miseries That came with it I don't mean To make enemies I just want to end These painful memories Goodbye Hearth's Warming Faded from view All that brainstorming Now you're all confirming Goodbye Hearth's Warming I hope nopony misses you Because you know I'm not One to Snow Dash trotted into Snowfall Frost's study, but to her surprise, she wasn't dismissed like she normally would. "Snow Dash, I have something to tell you," Snowfall Frost said, "It's something I've been hiding all these years." "What's that?" Snow Dash asked. Snowfall Frost was flustered. "I-I have a crush on you," she said. "Oh," said Snow Dash said, "I don't know how to take that, but I'm glad you told me." "So, do you like me back?" Snowfall Frost said, "All my life I feared rejection, but you can be honest. I'll try my best not to cry." Snow Dash took Snowfall's hoof. "I do," she said, "I just have one question: Why do you treat me like crap?" "That's not important!" Snowfall Frost said, "I just needed your confirmation, that's all!" "OK then," said Snow Dash, "I'll be going. And I'm sorry I doubted you earlier." "Please stay," Snowfall Frost said, "I know I haven't been the best to you, but I feel this feeling that Hearth's Warming is an important part in ponies' lives that I just don't see. But I don't care about that. It's a stupid holiday and I'm glad to have it gone. But you're saying that you don't doubt me for feeling something?" "No, but may I ask what you felt back there?" Snow Dash asked. "Don't push it," Snowfall Frost said, "I opened up to you enough. You don't need to know every little measly detail. Now go." "If you say so," Snow Dash said. As she flew over to the broom to do the daily cleaning, she couldn't help but realise something different about Snowfall Frost. Ever since the erasal of Hearth's Warming, she's turned into completely different pony I've never seen before, she thought, Gee, the way she doesn't wanna share sensitive information - - I mean, I totally get, but there's something about her that's cute. But I just can't put my hoof on what. But every day grew into a depression for Snowfall Frost's small town and she didn't care to notice. It wasn't her fault that those stupid ponies were lost without a holiday equally as pathetic and she knew it, for she's stuck with that thought for years. Then she felt it again. The three cold drafts swooping past her. It's probably those Wendigoes from Equestrian history, she thought, Of course those idiot creatures would try to feed off of my hate for Hearth's Warming. But she was wrong. When she turned around, she saw three figures of ponies. Oh no, Snowfall Frost thought. It was the spirits.
