//------------------------------// // The Forbidden Pokemon // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// The Johto Region, Night. A shrine located somewhere near Azalea Town. Here, the Shrine Maidens of Johto reside, constantly hard at work when it comes to spiritual occurrences. The mother of the Shrine Maidens, also known as the Maiden Mother, the highest-ranking maiden was currently sitting alone at night. She was praying to the shrine of the Mythical Pokemon Celebi. A Pokemon that has a few shrines dedicated to it all across Johto. "Complete focus." The middle-aged woman said to herself with her eyes closed. "Cleansing the body and mind of any hardships. Embracing the darkness to accept your imperfections." Clearly, she was in a deep state of focus and concentration. One that shouldn't be interrupted. "Mother! Horrible news!" A Shrine Maiden burst through the doors, breaking that concentration in an instant. "Gh!" The Maiden Mother winced, gaining an anger vein on her forehead, clearly not happy about her meditative state being broken. "Nozomi! What is it?! It is improper to just force yourself indoors!" "Deepest apologies, mother!" She lowered her head, apologizing. "It's just that... the Spiritomb! It's escaped!" "WHAT?!" The mother pulled back, shocked at the words that travelled through her ears. She quickly ran out of the shrine, rushing to the area where Spiritomb had been sealed for years now. Upon arriving at the tree where Spiritomb once was, she was shocked to see that the keystone that usually holds Spiritomb was still there, but the Pokemon itself was missing. An odd sight to be sure. There were arrows that had Fairy-Type magic on the tip, surrounding the keystone and grave. They were placed there just to keep Spiritomb from escaping. But clearly, it escaped. The other Shrine Maidens were outside, chatting about the sudden disappearance of Spiritomb and where it could be. "Unbelievable...How did it manage to escape?" The Mother picked up the keystone. "From what we may believe, the arrows had lost their magical balance, causing Spiritomb to become loose. It might have something to do with that electrical pulse that struck the region a few months back." Nozomi was referring to the day the Storm Behemoth was born. The pulses it created obviously affected both worlds, creating shockwaves in the mix. And those shockwaves are what caused the Fairy arrows to lose their magical balance, weakening them greatly. "This is horrible. That Spiritomb is far too dangerous to be free into the world! Much more dangerous than the average Spiritomb! Where was the last place you all saw it float off to!" "We're not sure, mother. All we know is that there was an eruption of dark energy that came from the keystone. And in that instant, Spiritomb was gone." A Shrine Maiden responded. "I see. Nozomi!" "Yes, mother!" "You and the others know what to do. Take the Fairy weapons and find the Spiritomb at once!" "Yes, mother!" The Shrine Maidens all bowed their heads in understanding. They had a job to do. One that involves the safety of others. With haste, they gathered the weapons that are commonly used to deal with Spiritomb's, ranging from bows and arrows, spears and fans. And of course, the one Pokemon Type that commonly assists the maidens, the Fairy-Type. They each had Fairy-Type Pokemon of their own to embed their weapons in Fairy aura. But what of the Spiritomb? Currently, it was just a floating spirit, wandering the world in order to continue its rampage. This Spiritomb, in particular, was once a human from long ago who had committed a horrible crime that gave them the reward of being cursed, turning the human into a Spiritomb. Staying true to its dex entry and then some. "Spirit..." The Forbidden Pokemon had found itself coming across one of the many gateways that connect to both worlds. Spiritomb was completely unaware that two worlds had crossed over since it had been sealed for years until the pulse managed to disrupt the seal. The Dark-Ghost-Type passed through this gateway, entering the other world for the very first time. Now that it was here, who knows what it could spread... The Crystal Empire, day. "Alright. Out you come." Shining Armor spoke. He held his Pokeball out, sending out none other than Honedge. The Pokemon he caught in a rather odd situation. "Let's try this again. I-" "Hone!" The Sword Pokemon cut Shining Armor off, doing what it usually does to its trainer, Enter his body and posses him. "Eek!" Shining Armor winced as he felt his body being taken over by the Sword Pokemon once more, causing him to twitch in the process. "Ugh. Not this again." Cadence groaned. She and Shining Armor have been dealing with this issue for weeks now. "Honedge, out. I'm sure you don't want me to force you out again, right?" "Bah! Not this time, princess." Honedge spoke through Shining Armor. "Your husband may have captured me, but he will never be my true trainer." Just then, like always, Shining Armor managed to gain a bit of control, speaking through his true self. "Don't worry, dear. I've got this under cont-" But eventually, Honedge took control. They've been doing this for weeks now, constantly fighting back and forth. Little do the two of them know, that's exactly what forms a beginning bond between trainer and Pokemon. "How stubborn can you get? Sylveon. You know what to do." Cadence's horn emanated a magical light, holding Honedge in place, preventing him from moving. "Syl!" Sylveon put her ribbonlike feelers on the possessed Shining Armor, releasing enmity-erasing waves throughout the body of Shining Armor. "HOO! HOHO! THAT TICKLES!" Honedge chuckled as he felt Sylveon's magic dig deep into him. "KNOCK IT OFF!" With enough action from Sylveon, Honedge was forced to leave Shining Armor's body, being defeated by Cadence and Sylveon once again. "Honedge..." "Ugh...Geez. When are you gonna get along with me, Honedge?" Shining Armor held his neck, still feeling the soothing aura from Sylveon. "Nedge." "Everypony else are good friends their own Pokemon. Even the Sableye get along with them from time to time." Shining Armor sighed. "Don't worry. I'm sure you and Honedge will get along well eventually. Right, Honedge?" Cadence turned her head towards the Sword Pokemon. "Hone." Honedge turned around, scoffing at Cadence's words. It truly was a stubborn Pokemon. Most Ghost-Types are anyways, but they mean well. One Ghost-Type who didn't mean well, however, was none other than Spiritomb. The Forbidden Pokemon had managed to find a goldmine of ponies to absorb once it found the empire. "Spirit..." Spiritomb has only one goal. To complete its transformation by uniting 108 spirits. And there indeed was more than 108 individuals here. Enough for Spiritomb to go from a tiny little purple and green wisp to its regular size. And the Forbidden Pokemon wasn't discreet about it for a second. The Forbidden Pokemon had begun its attack by forcing itself upon the citizens of the Crystal Empire. Its tiny wisp body had grown in size due to the energy it was exerting. A spiral of dark energy shot up into the sky, acting as some sort of tornado. The citizens of the Crystal Empire rightfully began panicking in fear of this sudden attack that just came out of nowhere without warning. Cadence and Shining Armor looked outside to see the spiral of dark and purple swirling in the skies, causing the gravity around them to change. "What is that?!" Cadence gasped. "Whatever it is, it needs to be stopped! Honedge! Get it!" Shining Armor attempted to command Honedge, but the Sword Pokemon didn't respond whatsoever. "Seriously?! Even in this situation?!" "Forget about Honedge! That looks to be Dark-Type aura...Sylveon, let's go!" Cadence had already prepared to teleport herself and Sylveon outside to the streets of the Crystal Empire. "Sylveon!" The trainer and Pokemon had both gone outside, involving themselves in the current chaos that was Spiritomb's actions. The two then saw that the dark spiral was actually acting as some sort of gravity field, pulling in ponies as it chased them down. The ponies who were filled into this spiral had been absorbed into Spiritomb's body, letting out screams as they could feel their entire spirits exit their body, feeding the Forbidden Pokemon as it was returning back to its original size. It had just absorbed 40 spirits in one go. Not only that, but their physical bodies had been pulled in as well. "Spiritomb!" The Forbidden Pokemon bellowed as its spiral raged on. "Sylveon! Moonblast!" Cadence commanded. "Sylv!" The Intertwining Pokemon shook her head in understanding. She began borrowing the power of the moon itself, forming a moon-shaped ball of magic in front of her. "Spirit?" Spiritomb could sense Fairy magic nearby. Something that was clearly bad news for a Pokemon such as itself. Fairy-Type magic was the reason why it was sealed up and defeated in the first place. As a response and an attempt to save itself, The Forbidden Pokemon had used the move Ominous Wind. By creating a gust of repulsive wind, Sylveon's focus was being interrupted by the awful hollowed out screaming the wind had bellowed out. "Syl! Sylveon!" The Fairy-Type Eeveelution covered her ears with her feelers, attempting to block out the noise of the wind. It worked for a moment as Sylveon fired Moonblast directly at Spiritomb. The ball of lunar energy had been caught in the wind, desperately struggling to break through the cyclone of repulsive zephyr. "Tomb!" Spiritomb could see that Moonblast wasn't getting past the Ghost-Type move at all. A perfect defence against an otherwise super-effective move. As a second response, this time on the offensive side, Spiritomb had hurled a black blob of shadowy energy. It was none other than the move Shadow Ball. The attack had phased through the Ominous Wind and Moonblast by the use of its intangibility, hitting Sylveon directly. "Veon!" "Ah! Sylveon!" Cadence gasped. "Spirit!" Spiritomb was racking up more spirits with the spiral still being active. Cadence spread her wings out, blasting the Forbidden Pokemon with a giant ray of magic in an attempt to put an end to this. The Forbidden Pokemon had been engulfed by Cadence's overwhelming large magic beam as the spiral of dark energy faded away. While the magic beam managed to get rid of the spiral of Dark-Type energy, Spiritomb was still standing. The beam only managed to make it flinch and slightly aggravate it. "It's not enough?!" Cadence's eyes widened. Spiritomb figured that it could absorb Cadence as well. She seemed like a huge threat after all. To do this, the Forbidden Pokemon had attempted to pull Cadence in with a gravity field that acted as a sort of black hole. The alicorn gasped, realizing that her very essence was being pulled from her body. It's a good thing Cadence is an alicorn since it helps her resist the pull of Spiritomb. "Sylveon!" To save her trainer, Sylveon had managed to use Moonblast whilst Spiritomb was focused on getting Cadence inside her. Once Moonblast hit Spiritomb, the Forbidden Pokemon had ceased its attempt to absorb Cadence's spirit, letting out a horrifying scream, falling to the ground. "Good work, Sylveon!" Cadence let out a sigh of relief. "Syl!" "Spirit...Spiritomb." Unfortunately, even a devastating Fairy-Type move such as Moonblast couldn't take out this particular Spiritomb. The Forbidden Pokemon had slithered away, making a hasty retreat from Cadence, Sylveon and the Crystal Empire in general. It had enough spirits inside of it, so it was best to head out and find a new area. "Wait! Come back here!" Cadence and Sylveon chased down the ominous spirit since there still citizens of the empire trapped within it. Cadence could easily keep up with Spiritomb since it is generally a slow Pokemon. However, the Forbidden Pokemon can phase through whatever it wants in order to make some quick getaways. And that's exactly what it did. It immediately phased through the ground, vanishing from Cadence and Sylveon's sight with ease. "Sylv?" "This isn't good..." The Princess of Love uttered. Clearly, it wasn't. Spirits of the Crystal Empire had been taken by that Pokemon. And who knows where else it's headed. To make quick action, Cadence had to warn Celestia and Luna about this pronto. Ponyville, Rarity's Carousel Boutique, Afternoon. "Here. Eat up, Ponyta." Scootaloo and the Crusaders were currently feeding their Pokemon at the moment in Sweetie Belle's room. "Pony!" The Fire Horse Pokemon had taken a bite out of a berry, devouring most of it in one chomp. "Espurr..." Sweetie Belle's Espurr fed itself by using its psychic mind to place the Pokeblocks inside of its mouth. "Emol!" Apple Bloom's Emolga went around, snatching some food for herself by gliding in the air. "A-Achoo!" Apple Bloom suddenly sneezed. "Ugh...Not like this..." "Caught a cold? Don't worry. Ponyta will warm you up, right pal?" "Ponyta." Ponyta went up to Apple Bloom, using his flaming mane to warm the earth pony up. "Thanks..." Apple Bloom rubbed her nose. "I needed that." "And what I need is a new way to work on my contest moves." Sweetie Belle picked up her contest ribbon case with her hooves, bouncing it up and down. "That Wonder Room trick isn't gonna impress the judges forever." "Don't you have other Pokemon that can do other moves?" Apple Bloom asked, resting her head on Ponyta's warm body. "Well yeah, I do. And they've all got something that could dazzle the judges. Teddiursa here's been itching to get involved in a contest already. Isn't that right, Teddiursa?" "Ursa!" "Well, while you work on that, I'm working on beating the second gym. Water. Pachirisu over here's gonna carry me to victory." Scootaloo picked up the EleSquirrel Pokemon. "Pachi!" "Sweetie Belle. Crusaders." Rarity, spoke opening the doors to Sweetie Belle's room. "Have you all figured out what gifts you'll be giving your Pokemon once Hearth's Warming comes around?" "What gifts? Uhh..." Scootaloo squinted her eyes, attempting to come up with something on the spot. "We don't really have anything yet." Sweetie Belle shrugged. "Mostly because we don't know what Pokemon see as gifts." Apple Bloom shook her head. "That's understandable. I'm not sure myself to be honest. Pokemon are a bit harder to read in terms of what they enjoy." Rarity replied to all three of them whilst petting her Mareep. "Reep!" "Just make sure that you don't overwork yourselves. We don't want a repeat of Ash's Thank You party now do we?" "Oka-" Their words had been cut off for one reason. All three of them, along with their Pokemon, had spotted something unusual behind the mare and her Mareep. It was none other than Spiritomb but they had no idea what Pokemon it even was. "R-Rarity..." Sweetie Belle stuttered, slowly pointing her hoof up. "Hm? What's wrong, you three? You all look absolutely shaken up." "Ponyta..." Ponyta and the other Pokemon were giving Spiritomb intensive glares, preparing to defend Rarity. "Behind you!" Scootaloo exclaimed, causing Spiritomb to take action. And the obvious action was to absorb Rarity into it. "Spirit!" The process of absorbing her spirit had been initiated. Rarity gasped as she could feel her entire spirit leaving her body out of nowhere, causing the unicorn to scream in pain. "Rarity!" Sweetie Belle gasped. "Ponyta! Use Flame Charge!" "Pony!" The Fire Horse Pokemon was already on it, charging right into Spiritomb's eerie body, forcing it to back off from Rarity and thankfully saving her life before she became apart of the many spirits trapped within Spirtomb. "Tomb!" "Hah...Hah..." Rarity held her chest, breathing in and out as she fell to the ground. That entire scenario was terrifying to her. The feeling of almost having her spirit being ripped out of her body was so painful, no amount of words could even come close to the level of horror and devastation it brings. "Sis!" Sweetie Belle went over to her older sister, helping her up. "Mareep!" Mareep turned around, seeing how Spiritomb was the one who attacked his trainer. "I don't know what you are...Actually what even are you?!" Scootaloo pulled out her dex. "Spiritomb. The Forbidden Pokemon. A Pokémon that was formed by 108 spirits. It is bound to a fissure in an odd keystone to keep it from doing any mischief by a mysterious spell. Apparently, there are some ill-natured spirits in the mix." "That thing almost took Rarity's spirit?!" Apple Bloom gasped. "It won't be doing any of that anymore! Ponyta! Use Flame Charge one more time!" "Ta!" Ponyta went for yet another Flame Charge, appearing to be much faster than before. Spiritomb however, utilized its intangibility to its advantage, phasing right through the Fire Horse Pokemon. "Pony?!" "Spirit!" The Forbidden Pokemon gave Ponyta its own attack in the form of Dark Pulse. A horrible aura imbued with dark thoughts struck the Fire-Type's back, causing him to fall to the ground. In just one hit, Ponyta had already taken a considerable amount of damage. The Fire Horse Pokemon was already on the verge of fainting. "Ah! Ponyta!" Scootaloo ran over to Ponyta, seeing her partner tumble on the floor. "Piplup! Aerial Ace!" Sweetie Belle joined in, commanding her Piplup to protect her sister. "Lup!" With blinding speeds and gusts of wind surrounding its arms and legs, the Penguin Pokemon gave Spiritomb and swift strike from both its arms and tiny little penguin feet, forcing it back a bit. Keyword being 'A Bit'. Spiritomb had given its response by unleashing Shadow Ball on the Penguin Pokemon, causing it to take massive damage as well, ending up in the same state as Ponyta. "Oh, no! Piplup!" "SPIRIT!" Spiritomb didn't feel like wasting any time with these children. So instead, he'll just absorb their spirits as well along with Rarity who was still recovering. The four ponies felt their spirits being ripped out of their bodies, helpless to do anything to stop it. "Reep!" But Mareep and the remaining Pokemon weren't helpless. The Wool Pokemon had protected the four of them by firing an Electro Ball, shocking Spiritomb's ghostly dark body in the process. Sweetie Belle's Teddiursa hopped on Mareep's back, raising its tiny little bear paws into the air. With the move Night Slash, the Little Bear Pokemon dealt the most damage to Spiritomb out of any other Pokemon here, but it still wasn't enough. Emolga and Pachirisu had worked together as Electric Rodents, annoying the Forbidden Pokemon by using both Spark and DIscharge, shocking the Dark-Ghost-Type with 30,000 volts of electricity every single time. And of course, the remaining two members of the Electric Rodent Family, Plusle and Minun did the same with a unified Thunder Shock. Despite them all being weaker than Spiritomb, when they work together and combine their power, they can even damage the most ferocious of Pokemon. And Spiritomb definitely felt the damage this time. The more they attack, the more damage they built up over time. The Forbidden Pokemon was just getting frustrated at this point. And that prompted it to use the one move that is all about frustration. Accurately named, Frustration. A move that is commonly used when a Pokemon dislikes its trainer, increasing in power. But in this case, this move had increased in power due to Spirtomb's own frustration, prompting the Forbidden Pokemon to expand its dark eerie body, hitting every single Pokemon and even the ponies with a devastating shockwave of physical energy. All of their Pokemon had unfortunately fallen to the overwhelming might of Spirtomb, as Sweetie Belle's room was a complete mess now. "Spirit..." Emerging victorious over all of them, the Forbidden Pokemon took its first victims in the form Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. It had successfully absorbed their spirits, making them apart of it. "S-Sweetie Belle!" Rarity groaned, attempting to save her sister. But the damage done to her made it so that she could barely move from the floor. "Tomb!" Now that Spirtomb had absorbed two unfortunate ponies, Scootaloo and Rarity were next. And there was no Pokemon conscious to stop it. Is what it thought until it was given the knowledge of Rarity's Leavanny's. Each of her Leavanny's were strong against Spiritomb due to their Bug Typing as they dashed through the doors of the room, attacking the Forbidden Pokemon with String Shot. "Spiritomb?!" "Leavanny!" The Leavanny's held the Forbidden Pokemon in place, making sure that it wouldn't even think about escaping. A single Leavanny dropped the string, going in for a physical attack instead. The Leavanny had landed a hard-hitting X-Scissor, striking the Bug move on Spiritomb's ominous body. "Spirit!" "L-Leavanny?" Rarity looked up to her Pokemon as a single Leavanny picked her up. "Tomb..." Spiritomb looked over the current situation, realizing that it was cornered by every Leavanny here from all sides. With the amount of damage it had taken earlier from the other Pokemon and from that one single X-Scissor, it made the wide decision of retreating via phasing through the ground itself. "Spirit!" "Nny?!" The Leavanny's all leaned forward, noticing that Spiritomb was gone just like that. And without a trace. "Give my friends back..." Scootaloo groaned, falling unconscious on the ground. "Give my sister back..." so did Rarity as she passed out eventually. The Leavanny's had gone over to the fainted ponies and Pokemon, preparing to care for them. They couldn't chase after Spiritomb since they can't track down the movements of a ghost, so all they could do now was take Rarity, Scootaloo and the Pokemon to a safe spot to heal whilst they all plan on warning Twilight and her friends. Spiritomb had finally been unleashed, roaming Equestria, in search of spirits to absorb. And so far, it has done a successful job. Stealing spirits from the Crystal Empire and even Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. Now that it is loose and currently around Ponyville, the lurking danger of the Forbidden Pokemon is now a prominent threat that everypony else has yet to learn about as the journey continues. Chapter 206 End.
