Caught In A Romance Novel.

Loving In Another Way.

The memory was all too vivid.

Sunset looked to her left where Rarity and Pinkie were defending each other. Rainbow, Applejack and Twilight were helping each other fight the giant monster that was now crushing the multiple garden and plants in town center. Fluttershy, being the kind person she is, was helping people and their children to safety, along with the animals nearby.

Sunset just stood there. That's when, out of nowhere, a piece of rubble came flying her way, pinning her arm to the wall behind her. As much as she tried to move the heavy chunk of rock, it didn't move. Then, she saw another piece fly in her direction, heading for what she thought was her chest. But, before she could react, her body went numb.

If it couldn't become any worse, the next thing she heard was the beeping of a heart monitor. She had woken up. Life had given her a second chance, somehow. Someone upstairs gave her pity and she thanked them.

The next part was in bits, but two things bad had came out of this. She was now blind in one eye. Her right one, to be exact. That wasn't even the tip of the iceberg. Her right arm had actually been amputated just above the elbow and was now replaced by metal.

It was prom night, the night that Sunset's mind could get off. Princess Twilight might even show up, it being her coronation and all. How was she meant to explain what had happened to her? "Oh, this? I'm now blind in one eye and my arm is replaced with metal because I got hit with 2 pieces of debree! How's you're night going, anyways?"

She shuddered at the thought. All that she was going to do was sit on the edge of a mountain that was still in school bounds until she could force herself to go in and try and have a "fun" night.

Or, she could stay in and watch Netflix until two in the morning. Not going to lie, she wanted to do that. It looked tempting, but she had to hit herself. Mentally, of course.

Before she left, Sunset used the mirror to hide her eye with her hair. She hated looking at it in the mirror, so people walking past her would probably think the same too.

She sighed, grabbing her phone and keys and walking out the door, locking it behind her.

Recently, she had sold her motorbike for a dirtbike as it fit her a bit more and if she found herself needing to speed across dirt, her motorbike would become more useless the further they got into the chase which either ended with Sunset trailing behind heavily, giving up her bike to go on foot or just giving up, letting the criminal get away. But now, she was faster than any criminal. One minute she was across town, the next thing she knew, she was next to the criminal, throwing him or her into the lake.

The bike itself was painted gold with streaks of red pain along the sides. The front of it was where her Cutie Mark was. She was proud of what she had made. She got on the bike and looked at the clock, and debated going back inside because of the time and the fact that she was early, but decided against it because she was hungry and it wasn't like she was going to be inside where most of the food was layed out.

About half an hour of driving later, she arrived at McDonald's. A wierd place for a vegan to go, but all she was getting was fries and a large coke, so it wasn't a big hastle.

After entering and getting her food, she obviously paid and then her phone began to buzz.

She answered. "Pinkie I'm at McDonald's."

"Yes, yes. I'm leaving."

"Why wouldn't I be coming to prom?"

"Y'know I'd never do that, right?"

"Pinkie, I have to focus on driving. See you when I get to school."

And with that, the phone call ended. Thank god she actually wasn't on the road to end it. She turned the bike on, engine revving to life. The drive to Canterlot High was simple, but memorable. The parks weren't really full of people as she passed, neither were the shops, but she'd be lying if she said that this city wasn't awesome.

Finally, she parked. Just in time too, the bell ran to signal the big dance. Students were relaxing outside, as they were allowed to. Sunset smiled as the place she and Applejack had build wasn't being used by anyone at all. It was a small, wooden table with 7 available seats.

Sunset sat down and began to eat while also watching YouTube videos. After she stopped eating, her mind got distracted and she walked up to look at the stars. She sat down and just watched them.

Then she obviously got another call from Pinkie to interrupt her moment.

"Pinkie. I did arrive. I just wanna be outside for a while."

"Don't say that, I love your parties."

"Look, I'll tell you what, when I'm done with my food, I'll come in and party for a while, okay?"

"Okay, see you then!"

Her enthusiasm was fake and as soon as the call ended, she threw her phone on the ground and her hands met her head. It had been a stressful month for Sunset to say the least.

"Maybe coming here was a bad idea..." she mumbled. She looked towards the parking lot towards her bike and thought about going home. About forgetting this whole party and sleeping the stress away.

"No, Sunset. They aren't getting to you. They won't win. I'm the leader of heroes, for gods sake! What good is that title when-"

"Sunset?"

"Princess or normal Twilight?" she asked.

"Normal."

Sunset turned around and smiled at her friend. "What are you doing here? I thought you and the other girls were inside."

Twilight shrugged and sat down in the dirt next to Sunset. "I was, but the most interesting thing was Trixie falling off stage."

Sunset laughed. "Did someone record it?"

Twilight nodded. "Rainbow did."

Sunset did a thumbs up and smiled once again.

To her surprise, Twilight leant on Sunset's shoulder.

Sunset wasn't complaining at all. She let Twilight sit there as she rubbed her back with her metal arm.

Twilight sighed. "I honestly thought prom would be better than this."

Sunset chuckled. "Thank you for this. You're making me smile for the first time since... Well, y'know."

Twilight gave an awkward chuckle and decided to change the subject.

"So, so you know Timber?"

Sunset turned to Twilight and she did the same.

"He dumped me..."

Sunset wide eyed. "How?! You're like the dream girl!"

Twilight shrugged. "He just said that it wasn't working out for us."

Sunset was silent. She smiled gently. "If it helps, I'm interested in you."

Twilight was shocked, to say the least. "I thought you were straight."

She shook her head. "I'm lesbian."

Twilight smiled. "Bisexual."

Sunset sighed. "I don't know if I'm ready for a relationship yet."
Twilight smiled and kissed Sunset's cheek.

She got up from Sunset's warm embrace. "Just think about it, Okay?"

Sunset turned around and got up, being level with the girl. Twilight looked at the girl and removed the hair that was hiding her eye.

They both smiled at each other. "You're going to be mine soon, right?" Twilight asked.

Sunset kissed the girl on her lips, which she graciously accepted and kissed back. After parting, Sunset held her hand and carrested it with her metal one. "Maybe~"

Sunset put a bit of hair back over her messed up eye and sat back down on the bench where Twilight shortly joined her. Their hands made contact and they both looked away, blushing.

"Thank God we're not being watched, right?" Twilight joked.

Rarity smiled in the bushes. To the left was Princess Twilight and Princess Celestia who was also smiling hard.

Rarity looked at them and then gave a smirk, checking off something in her notebook.

"Come on, let's go and give those two lovebirds some privacy." Celestia said, proud of her student.

Twilight sighed. "But they're not dating!"

Rarity gave out a chuckle. "Knowing those two, I'll give it until the end of the week for them to be dating."
