//------------------------------// // 289. Sitting in a Cave and Chatting With The GF // Story: Azure Edge // by Leaf Blade //------------------------------// “So how did things go with Pinkie Pie?” Maud asked as Trixie returned to the cave at the foot of the Crystal Mountains where Maud had made a temporary home for both of them, Trixie slouching like a zombie with a look of complete dejection on her face. “Not great,” Trixie shrugged, and flomped onto the makeshift bed on her back, Maud lying down next to her and twirling a strand of Trixie’s hair around her finger, before Trixie transformed back into her true form and felt an enormous weight lifted off her shoulders. “She didn’t forgive you?” Maud said, climbing up onto Trixie’s belly, Trixie putting her arms around the tiny pony and holding her close to the chest. “Nah,” Trixie muttered. “It’s okay though, I get it. I just don’t like it.” “Fair,” Maud hummed. She turned over onto her stomach and crawled up to Trixie’s muzzle, giving her a kiss on the snout, which made Trixie’s cheeks turn bright pink. “I still like you though.” “Thanks,” Trixie said sheepishly, “I needed that.” “So what do you want to do now?” Maud asked, Trixie fidgeting a little to let Maud know she wanted to sit up, the pony jumping off of Trixie’s belly and onto the ground as Trixie sat up onto her haunches. “I feel like I should still apologize to the rest of Twilight’s friends,” Trixie said contemplatively, tapping her chin before sighing abruptly and aggravatedly, “but I don’t want to. Just one apology made me feel like… bleugh.” “You shouldn’t put it off too much,” Maud said, patting Trixie’s leg. “It’ll only get harder the longer you wait.” “I know,” Trixie said. “But honestly like, the main thing is that I wanna focus on something else.” “Are you talking about the prison?” Maud asked, and Trixie let out a disgusted, bitter laugh at the thought of what she had seen. “Yeah, I’m talking about the prison,” Trixie said coldly. “Me and Twilight are gonna get together and we’re gonna figure something out.” “Just so you know,” Maud climbed up Trixie’s leg, Trixie scooping her up into her claw to look Maud in the eye, “if you’re planning on committing any crimes, count me in. Prison break, rioting, assassination, whatever it is. I’m in your corner. I can be your rock, if you will.” “Hehe, thank you,” Trixie giggled and gave Maud a little smooch on the head. “You’re sweet, I like you. But don’t tell anyone I said that.” “My lips are sealed,” Maud smiled, and Trixie wrapped her up in a tight hug, Maud hugging her back for a moment before saying “cough, choke,” out loud to let Trixie know she was hugging maybe a bit too hard, and so she put Maud back on the ground. “Okay,” Trixie took in a deep breath. She was serious now. She was really gonna do something about this prison situation, even though she hadn't figured out quite what yet. When did this happen? When did Trixie become this person who stuck her neck out for others like this? Maybe she always was, who knows. All Trixie knew was that tomorrow, she had a very important date with Twilight Sparkle.
