//------------------------------// // Chapter 6 // Story: Godzilla // by Gojipower12 //------------------------------// The sun rose into the sky, chasing away the darkness of the night. With the welcome embrace of the sun’s rays, Ponyville and the land surrounding it began to warm up. Fluttershy remained sleeping in her bed, tucked comfortably under her blanket. All of a sudden, she felt something jump on top of the bed and pull at the sheets. Opening her eyes, Fluttershy craned her head to the source of the disturbance that was undoubtedly Godzilla. The little reptile was tugging at her blanket, believing the cloth had been a chew toy. Godzilla pulled back on the blanket so hard, he catapulted himself off the bed with the blanket still in his jaws. “Oh, sweet Celestia!” Fluttershy exclaimed, quickly jumping off her bed and rushing to Godzilla. Godzilla just sat there with the blanket draped over his body. He righted himself up and ran out of the room issuing a series of confused garbles while he still had the blanket on top of his face. “Hey! Come back here with my blanket!” Fluttershy said, a laugh escaping her mouth as she chased after Godzilla. She finally caught the rambunctious lizard, wrapping him up in a warm hug. Godzilla returned the loving gesture with a slobbery kiss to the cheek, causing Fluttershy to laugh even harder. She finally put Godzilla down, taking the blanket from his grasp and folding it. She trotted towards the kitchen with a smile on her face, grabbing a couple of buckets from a closet. She filled the first bucket with chicken feed and filled the second with several varieties of fruits and vegetables. Fluttershy walked outside to her backyard, placing one of the buckets on a wooden platform. She began to hand out the chicken feed to her chickens, humming a little tune. She heard the ear-splitting grate of a bucket getting dragged on the ground and turned around, watching Godzilla drag the second bucket by the handle. Fluttershy felt her heart melt at the reptile’s efforts to help her with chores. “You want to help me with my chores? My, aren’t you the sweetest little thing?” Fluttershy cooed softly. After the morning chores were done, Fluttershy had went out to the marketplace for her weekly groceries. Godzilla had tagged along with the pegasus, riding along on her back as the duo passed through the center of Ponyville. Godzilla looked around at all the vendors, taking in the familiar scents he discovered a day ago. Fluttershy smiled to herself as she took a quick glance at a shopping list she had fished out of the satchel she was carrying. "Let's see.... I need some carrots, apples, more bird feed..... some more food for Godzilla. I can't believe he already went through a whole cart of salmon in just five days." Fluttershy murmured to herself, giggling on that last part. A baby Titan half the size of a full-grown Earth pony that ate a large cart of salmon in just five days was a accomplishment in itself. Fluttershy hummed a little tune to herself as she completed her rounds, going around to each vendor and buying what she needed. Some time later, Fluttershy had busied herself with starting a pleasant conversation with the owner of a vendor that sold fresh fish, unaware of the inquisitive saurian looking at, hilarously enough, another butterfly passing by the Titan's snout. Godzilla immediately leaped off Fluttershy's back as he chased the airborne insect down the path that led to the Everfree forest. "Um, ma'am.... I think your pet just ran off." The pony in charge of the fish store said as she pointed a hoof towards Godzilla's direction. Fluttershy nearly had a heart attack after witnessing the escapade, running off after Godzilla. "Godzilla, no! Don't go in there! It's too dangerous!" Fluttershy exclaimed. Godzilla had made his way deep into the Everfree forest, snapping at the iriscidient buttershy floating along in the air. Before long, the butterfly managed to dart into the trees, finally losing Godzilla. The little saurian let out a dismayed bark as he longingly stared at the area where the insect had flown off to. After a moment, Godzilla finally relented and let out a frustrated huff. It was then that Fluttershy managed to finally find Godzilla sitting at the base of the tree. "There you are! You had me so worried!" Fluttershy exclaimed, taking Godzilla in her forearms. "I really need to teach you how to stay put whenever we go out." Fluttershy said, a chuckle escaping her mouth as Godzilla climbed up on her back. Right before Fluttershy had the chance to unfurl her wings and take off, the ground began to shake in a slow, rhythmic pattern. It felt like something huge was approaching. "Oh no....!" Fluttershy yelped, hiding behind the base of the tree. Fluttershy held a surprisingly calm Godzilla in her forearms, risking a quick peek at whatever was walking nearby. Sure enough, the pegasus caught a glimpse of the massive MUTO snooping around the area. The colossal insectoid Titan had caught Godzilla's scent and it lured the creature to this spot. Fear for both herself and the infant Titan in her grasp, Fluttershy began to panic. She prayed to the Celestials above that Godzilla would stay completely quiet. Unfortunately for her, the pegasus' prayers would go unanswered. Godzilla let out a hilariously loud sneeze, causing Fluttershy to completely freeze up in terror as the MUTO turned its triangular head towards their direction. "This is bad... this is bad... this is bad....!" Fluttershy whispered to herself. The MUTO chittered as it made it's way towards the tree, slightly parting its jaws as the beast revealed rows of sharp teeth. However, the sound of a branch cracking in the distance caught the multi-limbed Titan's attention elsewhere. Using the distraction to her advantage, Fluttershy slowly began walking away from the tree. Fluttershy was so close to being home free. She would've been in the clear too..... had she not accidentally stepped on a large stick. Fluttershy mentally cursed to herself as the MUTO turned its sights right on the pegasus. "KREEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRK!!! '' The MUTO roared, charging at the now screaming pegasus. Fluttershy screamed in terror as she began booking it down the road, shrieking in terror as the behemoth behind her began chasing down the terrified pegasus. Godzilla held on to Fluttershy's back, letting out defiant cries at the MUTO. The behemoth snapped its jaws at Fluttershy, missing the winged equine by a couple inches. Fluttershy dove under a fallen tree, watching in dismay as the MUTO smashed right through it like it was nothing. Fluttershy was so focused on looking back at the MUTO that she didn't see a large hole in the ground in front of her. Before they could realize what was happening, Fluttershy and Godzilla found themselves tumbling down a steep slide of sorts. The MUTO roared out angrily as it could do nothing but watch as the duo disappeared from its sight. After a few moments, the Titan finally gave up the chase and walked off. *** "Are you okay?" Fluttershy asked as she picked up Godzilla in her forearms. Godzilla was a bit dazed from the fall, but he was otherwise unharmed. Fluttershy let out a loud sigh, relieved that they were able to escape the huge beast chasing after them. It wasn't long until Fluttershy noticed she had landed in a large cave. "Where are we?" Fluttershy asked, mostly to herself. The pegasus looked around the space as she studied the walls. The cave's huge walls were adorned with cave paintings of all kinds. As she looked at the primitive artwork, Fluttershy took notice of many paintings depicting stories about many ancient pony tribes that had peacefully coexisted with Titans. "So it is true.... the ancient tribes did live alongside Titans...." Fluttershy stated to herself. As she walked further, she took notice of a huge cave painting depicting a giant saurian Titan battling with a equally giant multi-limbed Titan. The saurian Titan shared an uncanny resemblance to Godzilla. Fluttershy figured out the reptilian creature depicted in the painting was definitely a member of Godzilla's species. The other Titan was not as easy to identify. It did have resemblance to the giant Titan that tried to kill Fluttershy and Godzilla earlier. However, the multi-limbed Titan had a much bulkier build and it's arms were huge, sporting what looked like large muscular growths on them. It perplexed Fluttershy to no end, that was for sure. Regardless, Fluttershy decided Twilight needed to be alerted of this development. "Twilight needs to see this...." Fluttershy said. She quickly fished into her satchel, grabbing a large notepad and a pen. Without delay, Fluttershy began to sketch out the entire painting while Godzilla watched with a piqued interest.
