//------------------------------// // 6. Small in Size, Big in Bravery // Story: EqG Tales: Ever After High Edition // by Brian Sheil //------------------------------// Inside the Pie family's house, Cloudy Quartz looks down a knothole in the kitchen floor and is getting very sad. "Oh, Igneous Rock." Cloudy Quartz said sadly. "My grandmother's ring is down there. It didn't fall far. But, how can anybody get it out of there?" "Have no fear, Cloudy Quartz." Igneous Rock replied, putting his hand on his wife's shoulder. "Pinkie has just called for a friend of hers to help us out." "Pinkie?!" Limestone shouted as she and Marble came into the kitchen. "How can SHE help. Even HER small fingers can't get into that knothole." Suddenly, Pinkie Pie came into the kitchen. A blond haired girl wearing a flower type dress came in with her. "Don't worry, mom." Pinkie assured. "Nina here can get your grandma's ring back." Igneous Rock apprached the girl, knowing who it is. "Nina Thumbell. A good choice for this mission." "If anybody can get that ring out of there," Cloudy Quartz adeed, "you can." "Leave it to me, folks." Nina replied as she turns to Pinkie. "Do you have that old shoestring I asked you to bring?" "I sure did." Pinkie replied. she pulls out a pink shoestring. "Excellent. Then, here I go!" Just then, Nina shrunk down to the size of a mouse. Pinkie bent down and handed Nina the string. Soon, Nina went down the knothole. "How did she do that?" Limestone asked. "Nina has the power to shrink down to the size of a little critter." Pinkie explained. "Not bad for the daughter of Thumbelina." Marble's eyes widened. "Pinkie's friend, Twilight, read me a story of Thumbelina. I never knew she had a daughter." "It must be that school Pinkie talked to us about." Limestone figured. "Ever After High." "I get it. Nina is a student at that storybook school." Inside the knothole, Nina looks around carefully. Soon, she spots the ring. "This must be the ring Pinkie was talking about." Nina said to herself as she tries to carry it. Cautiously, she brings it to the hole entrance. "Good thing I work out at the school gymnasium." Nina ties the shoestring around the loop of the ring, sits on it, and gives the string a tug. Knowing it's a signal, Pinkie slowly pulls the string. Out comes Nina and the ring. Everybody was surprised. "My grandmother's ring!" Cloudy Quartz shouted as she gets a hold of it. "I can't believe I have it again." She places Nina on the floor. "Thank you, Nina." "It was my pleasure, Cloudy Quartz." Nina replied as she magically returns to normal size. "Now you have your grandmother's heirloom back." Cloudy Quartz puts the ring on her finger and smiled. "I shall never let go of you again." "I have to admit, Pinkie." Limestone confessed. "Your pal, Nina Thumbell, is pretty helpful in these tight spots." "Well," Pinkie said, "most people maybe small in size," Nina finished Pinkie's statement. "but can be big in other things. Like bravery and compassion." Marble nodded as Limestone turned to Nina. "Yeah. True."
