//------------------------------// // The Makeover // Story: Extreme Makeover: Barn Edition // by JerryTheHouseGhost //------------------------------// Rarity stood in the middle of the barn, looking in every direction. "This is utterly dreadful! This barn is lacking in style! How am I going to start this makeover!?" she couldn't help but say this out loud. Rarity noticed the main support beams, which were a very dull brown. She decided that she would start by getting rid of those and replacing them with more colorful ones. Rarity began to buck them down. After the third one was broken, the barn started to shake. "Oh dear." said Rarity. The barn began to shake even more, and cracking noises were starting to be heard. "I better get out of here before something bad happens!" Rarity had just ran out of the barn when its roof began to cave in. "Oh my... This is going to be harder than I thought..." Rarity began to examine the rubble. "Maybe this could be used to my advantage. But how?" She started thinking. What could all of this broken wood be used for? Rarity had no idea what she could do with it, but then it hit her. No, literally; a piece of wood flew out of the broken mess and smacked Rarity in the face. But then after that, she found out what she could do with it. "Haha! You've thought of a stupendous idea once again, Rarity!" she liked to congratulate herself when nopony else was around to do it for her. Rarity began to move the rubble around with her magic, and started to shape it into a wooden statue of herself. "There! Now everypony will remember who made this wonderful barn! Well, now I actually have to make the barn." Rarity decided to go to the lumber store in Ponyville to get all of the supplies. How a small store will have as much wood as she needed, she did not know. This is a work of fiction, so anything can happen, right? Wrong. The lumber store only had enough wood to build a small shed. Rarity decided to get the wood anyway just as a start, and had the store's employees deliver it to the building site. Rarity had no idea where she would be able to get the rest of the wood that she needed. She then spotted Pinkie Pie walking down the street towards her, and instantly had another great idea. "Hey, Pinkie Pie! Could you go get your party cannon?" "Well of course, Rarity!" Pinkie Pie ran off towards Sugarcube Corner, then came back pushing the cannon in front of her. "What do you need it for?" "Just follow me, Pinkie. I'll tell you later." "Okie Dokie Loki!" Pinkie Pie began to follow Rarity with her party cannon. Rarity led her all the way to the wooden statue of herself. "Hey, is that you? That's pretty cool! Now, what do you want me to do with this?" "Can your party cannon shoot out any wood planks?" "Of course!" "Well then, start firing it!" "Okay!" said Pinkie Pie. She started to pull the firing string. Only about five planks of wood came out each time. She fired it a few times, then stopped. "Is that enough?" "No, fire it more," said Rarity. Pinkie Pie fired it another five times. "How about that?" asked Pinkie Pie. "No!" shouted Rarity. "Step aside!" Rarity pushed Pinkie Pie out of the way and began to fire the cannon very fast. Pinkie Pie just stood there watching as more and more wood planks started to pile up. "There, that should be enough." Rarity bucked the cannon away, and successfully hit Pinkie Pie with it. Both Pinkie and the cannon flew away towards Ponyville. "Whyyyyyyy!?" yelled Pinkie Pie as she flew away. "Now, time to build the barn! I have blueprints right here, it's going to look fabulous!" The new barn looked horrible. The blueprints Rarity had looked good, but halfway into it she realized that she had no previous experience as a carpenter. The barn looked like a... Well, it didn't look like anything Rarity had seen before. "Oh my! Well, nothing a god paint job can't fix!" Rarity was trying to be optimistic. She already had a plan for how she would paint it. "Oh, this is going to look good!" The paint job was horrendous. It was a lavender color with yellow sunflowers and red roses around what was supposed to be halfway up the barn. There were random splotches of red and yellow towards the bottom, caused by unprofessional painting procedures. As if nothing else could make this situation get any worse, Rarity heard a voice on the other side of the barn. "What the hay is this!?" That was definitely Applejack, and she didn't sound pleased at all. "What the- is that supposed to be Rarity?" Oh yeah, the only thing that was painted correctly was Rarity's statue. It looked exactly like her, if she were made out of broken wood planks. Rarity began to run away towards Ponyville. Applejack left the barn just in time to see Rarity disappearing over a hill. "Rarity!!!!!! I'll get you for this!!!!!!!!!" "NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" THE END (Question Mark?)
