Fits

You can't fly with wet wings!

“Are you a relative of Rainbow Dash?” Celestia asked, getting a confused look from the tall pegasus in front of her.

“Who the fuck is Rainbow Dash?” Fitz asked, unintentionally ruffling his wings in frustration after all the weird questions he had been asked.

“Although the rainbow style is not the same,” Celestia resumed, ignoring him.

“Fuck this, i’m going to find Swagger.” Fitz did a 180 and walked out the grand doors, planning on learning how to fly to wherever Swagger was.

Fitz stood on the street in front of the castle, wings spread in preparation for flight. He hesitated before flapping, unsure if he could fly, but his acquired instincts kicked in and he took flight, exclaiming as he shot ten feet into the air, flying this way and that before crashing back onto the ground. He laid there for a minute, groaning in pain, before he reluctantly got back up to try one more time. He was breathing shakily as he shut his eyes and slowly raised his wings. He paused to take a few deep breaths, before he started slowly flapping, steadily rising into the air. After stabilizing himself, he opened his eyes, staring wide eyed at the ground ten feet below him.

He continued, slightly tilting his wings forward. He screamed as he dashed forward a couple feet, quickly shoving himself to the ground and snapping his wings back onto his sides, not wanting to risk it. He shook his head and trotted towards the gates, hoping to find Swagger somewhere beyond this bustling city.

After a few hours of painfully slow walking, he finally arrived at a town, dropping onto his stomach in exhaustion while he breathed heavily. He looked around the town from the ground, seeing the bustling ponies around him. H also saw a certain zebra, albeit in a cloak and hood. His face lit up as his got up and darted towards her.

“Zecora!” He called, watching her turn and jump back in surprise with how close he got.

He backed off as she lowered her hood, placing a hoof on her chin in thought. “I feel like I have heard your voice before,” She said, studying his face for a moment before his eyes lit up in recognition.

“Ah, you are the creature that SwaggerSouls was speaking to, trying to prove my existence to you,” She said, pointing a hoof at him.

He smirked and stood straight. “That;s me alright.” He paused, ruffling his wings in thought before adopting a presenters look. “Do you think you could take me to him?”

She smiled before turning towards the forest he saw in the distance. “Follow me, Fitz, and we will unite you two again, and hopefully find a way to return you to your own land.” She started walking off, Fitz following with a curious gaze at how she could rhyme every sentence so well.

Fitz followed close by Zecora through the forest, admittedly a bit scared of the green glowing orbs that had been tailing them the whole way.

“Are you sure they won’t attack us?” Fitz asked, staring wide eyed at the eyes behind him.

“They will not hurt us as long as we are outside the bordering treelines,” She responded, basically saying don’t go into the trees.

“But if they did attack, we would be fine, right?” Fitz worriedly asked, getting closer to her. She chuckled before responding.

“Do not worry, my little pony, I have fought many wolves while out and going,” She assured him. He nodded slowly, although he stayed close by her, scared that he wasn’t as scary as when he was in his human form.

Eventually, they arrived at her small hut. Fitz dashed in as Zecora calmly followed behind, softly shutting the door behind her.

“Swagger!” Fitz exclaimed happily, running up to him and bea hugging him. Swagger resisted with multiple obscenities and a few swings before recognizing the voice.

“Cameron? What the fuck are you doing here?” Swagger asked as Fitz pulled away, sitting in front of him on the floor. With their height difference, Fitz reached Swaggers eye level while sitting in front of him, as long as Swagger was in his DXRacer.

“I have no idea, I just woke up in front of a unicorn with wings!” Fitz said, throwing his yellow  hooves into the air dramatically as the other yellow pony in the chair stared at him through the slits in his helmet.

“The princess? Oh, she’s an alicorn,” Swagger said as Fitz stared with a weird look.

“Why you lookin’ at me like that?” Swagger asked curiously. Fitz leaned closer and, from how close they were already, caused Swagger to lean back in his chair uncomfortably, having to raise his flank a bit to get as close as he wanted. Fitz shoved his hoof into his chest, making Swagger grunt.

“How did you know that?” Fitz asked suspiciously, getting a deadpan look from Swagger. Well, that was the only expression that his helmet gave.

“I live here. Might as well get to know the leaders here,” Swagger responded, pushing the pegasus off of him.

Fitz sat back down, looking down in thought as he ruffled his wings for a third time.

“Why the fuck do they keep doing that?” Fitz looked back at the extra appendages on his back. He stared at them for a moment before returning his attention to Swagger.

“Can you tell me?” Fitz asked hopefully.

Swagger sighed in exasperation. “Fine.”

“Yay!” Fitz exclaimed, clapping his hooves in an unmanly way. He leaned in again, although in an attentive way instead of intruding.

“The big-ass white one is Celestia, she controls the sun, the smaller blue one controls the moon, the pink one does love somehow, and the most recent, Twilight, who lives in the library,” He gestured in the direction of the town. “Is friendship. The first two control the land we’re in, Equestria, the pink one has a city made entirely of crystal somewhere in the snowy north and, currently, all Twilight has is a castle and a school.” He watched Fitz carefully, fully expecting him not to believe what he just explained.

After a moment of awkward staring, Fitz sat back down again, looking at the ground with a mix of confusion and disbelief as his ears folded down against his head.

“You alright, Cameron?” Swagger asked, concerned for his silent friend.

“So… this isn’t a dream? This isn’t a single town on Earth of humans transformed into miniature horses for an experiment?”

Fitz looked up at Swagger, a somber look plastered on his face as tears welled up in his unusually large gray eyes. “This is real?”

Tears rolled down his cheeks as Swagger thought about his answer. “It better not be, or I'm not American!” Swagger exclaimed, stamping a hoof on his chair. Fitz wiped his tears with a sniff.

“If it is real then…” Fitz hesitated for a second. “How will we get back?” Fitz stared directly into Swagger’s eyes, watching Swagger avert eye contact by looking down to his feet.

After a minute, Swagger shrugged. “I dunno, maybe we can ask Celestia?” He said.

Swagger looked up at Fitz again. “Until then, we can still do the podcast.” Fitz smiled a small bit as he sniffed. Swagger smiled under his helmet at successfully cheering up his friend.

His smile faltered a bit as he thought of something. “We’ll need to get you a chair too, though,” He said.

“I can sit in the DXRacer, and you can sit in my lap,” Fitz suggested with a smile.

Swagger gave him a nasty look. “No. Fucking. Way.”

Swagger shifted uncomfortably with a light blush on his cheeks under his helmet. “And this is SwaggerSouls, aka the short horse!” Swagger reluctantly pointed his muzzle up at the mic, which was at Fitz’s height, before speaking.

“I don’t like this,” He said. Toby laughed.

“What don’t you like about this, My Little SwaggerSouls?” Fitz comedically asked, looking down at him, who glared back before answering.

“This is only for the podcast, ya understand?” Swagger demanded, getting a light chuckle from Fitz.

“Sure, whatever you want.” Fitz said, prepared to move on to other subjects.
