Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash are now waiting for the next train to take them back to Ponyville. The train approaches the station. Twilight gets in first then sits alone in the back of the train. Her friends get on board and isolate themselves from Twilight. They are stunned after Twilight threatens to erase Spike's mind. Twilight in her broken state expects Celestia to banish her from Equestria and disown her as her student. "I will fix this, no matter the cost," Twilight mutters as she looks out the window.
Spike, Lemon Zest, Indigo Zap, Sugarcoat, Sour Sweet, and Sunny Flare are back in the house. They fixed the door that Applejack bucked down, cleaned up the mess Twilight made when she zapped everypony while rescuing Spike, and they put the candies back in the bowl. Spike, now free of Twilight Sparkle, can move on with his life.
"Alright, everyone," Spike said, "Let's see who's next," Spike spins the spinner. The spinner stops in front of Lemon Zest.
"Lemon," Sour said. "Pick your poison."
Lemon picks a candy and eats it. "Mmm, sweet apple-flavored."
"Oh, c'mon! Spike and I can't be the only ones getting soured faces!" Indigo said.
"Let's see what happens next," Lemon spins the spinner. The spinner stops in front of Sour.
Sour pick a candy and eat it. Her face turns sour immediately. She's holding onto her cheeks and spits the candy in the bucket. "Ah! Sour lemon!"
Lemon Zest couldn't help but laugh. Everyone else chuckled.
"I hope you get a sour lemon, Lemon."
"We'll see what happens, Sour. Now please, spin the spinner."
Sour spins the spinner, the spinner stops in front of Sugarcoat.
Sugarcoat wastes no time and chooses a random candy. She eats it and immediately starts to have a soured face. She stays calm as she holds her cheeks. The soured candy is too much as she spits it out. "Sour...lemon..."
"Wow, I'm two for two," Lemon said.
The game continues for a half-hour. Sugarcoat was first to be eliminated. Then Sour Sweet, Indigo Zap, Lemon Zest, and Spike. Sunny Flare emerge victoriously. She decides that everyone eats the cake that Sour Sweet baked earlier today. Everypony and dragon go to the kitchen. Sugarcoat, using her magic, cuts the cake. She levitates the sliced cake to everyone around the table. She sits next to Spike and Indigo.
"So, Spike. Enjoyed the game?" Sour said.
"Yes, I did. It was fun. The sour grapes and lemons did a number on me."
"I'm surprised you were able to keep two sour lemon pieces in your mouth. That took most of us out," Indigo said.
"Thanks, well, I wanted to win. I wasn't going to let a soured lemon-flavored candy stop me. Too bad that the sour apple-flavored is the reason why I couldn't keep going."
"You did well on your first try," Sunny said.
"Hey, Sour Sweet," Spike asks. "What flavor is this cake?"
"You'll see," Sour said.
Spike and the rest took a bite out of the cake. Their eyes widen in shock and satisfying faces.
"Hehe, I see you like the cotton candy cinnamon flavored cake," Sour said. "It's the Pudding family new recipe. We're the firsts to taste it."
"Cool! This cake is better than the sapphire gem cupcake Mr. and Mrs. Cake baked."
"Ah, the Cake family. The Pudding Family arch-rival," Sour said.
"Really?" Spike questions.
"Yea, the two were at each other for years. I think Mr. Pudding has the edge over Mr. Cake."
"Wow, they should have a bake-off to see which family has the better tasting desserts."
"Hmm, there is a bake-off challenge taking place at the Crystal Empire. I'm pretty sure both families can make an appearance to settle the score once and for all," Sour said.
"When is the bake-off challenge, Sour?"
"In two months. Why you ask, Spike?"
"I want to see if we can all go."
"We can go. Will anypony be busy on November 3rd?"
"Nope, I have that day off from work," Sunny said.
"I can close the library on the 3rd," Sugarcoat said.
"I can take a break day from training," Indigo said.
"I'll go. Lemon picking can be done swift and quick on a different day," Lemon said.
"I'll already be there since I'll be helping the Pudding Family bake," Sour stated.
"Then it's settled. We have an official hang out day," Spike said. "So, Sunny. What's next after we have cake?"
"Well, I know it's still a game night, I think from what has happened earlier, we should go outside and star-gaze. Relax and enjoy ourselves. We can have an official game night another day."
"You know what?" Spike said. "That sounds like an awesome idea."
After everyone eats their slice of cake, they all head outside to the lemon tree orchard. Spike and Lemon brought some snacks, blankets, and a telescope to watch the stars. Luna's night under the lemon tree orchard is beautiful. They can see all the stars and constellations. Spike sits up and looks at the night sky. He couldn't help but shed a tear, the nightmare of his is over, the loneliness is gone, surrounded by friends is one thing he'll cherish the most. Lemon Zest and the rest sit next to Spike.
"Thank you," Spike said.
The girls' smile and Sugarcoat start naming constellations left and right. Spike then sees a shooting star and makes a wish.
"I wish to always be with my new friends together as a family for the rest of my life."
It is now 11:00 at night. The train pulls in Ponyville. Twilight and her friends get off the train. Twilight takes the walk of shame back to the Golden Oak Library. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Applejack joins Twilight in the walk of shame. Twilight enters the Library to see not only an unhappy Princess Celestia, but she also sees Princess Luna and Shining Armor.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle and Wielders of the Elements," Princess Celestia said in her Royal Voice.
Twilight and her friends sit in front of them with their heads hung down.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle, I am distraught at you and your friends. I observed from a distance, hoping that you of all ponies would cope and try to reason fairly on Spike. Instead, you allowed your emotions to get the better of you, Twilight. You used my authority as a command and threatened to erase Spike's mind. I allowed you to have a second chance but not like that. Your actions reflect on your personality as a Princess, Twilight."
"I'm...sorry...Princess Celestia. I...don't know what came over me. I want Spike to come home. I want to make it up to him after all I've done," Twilight said as she's broken.
"You're desire has blinded you from your actions, Twilight. As a future ruler of Equestria, those kinds of desires has to be pushed aside to make the right decision," Princess Celestia said calmly.
"Twily, until further notice, you cannot come to the Crystal Empire when Spike's presence is known. Princess Celestia's orders. That goes to the rest of you. "
"Any other punishments, Princess Celestia?" Twilight states.
"Thou shall suffer a week of nightmares that Spike endured in his lifespan," Princess Luna said.
"Also, you all are going to write apology letters to Lemon Zest, Indigo Zap, Sugarcoat, Sour Sweet, and Sunny Flare from the attack you all attempted earlier tonight."
"Celestia, Indigo Zap broke my wing! She needs to give me an apology!" Rainbow stated angrily.
"Denied Rainbow Dash!" Celestia shouted.
Rainbow Dash gulps and swallows her pride. She backed away slowly.
"In Indigo's standpoint, she ought to see you as a lawbreaker for trespassing."
"Understood..." Rainbow said quietly in defeat.
"I'm going back home to the Crystal Empire," Shining said as he walks past Twilight. "Twily, I love you. Please, pull yourself together and try not to make any more regretful decisions. Also, I'm taking Spike's Friend so Cadance and I can comfort Spike when he visits the Crystal Empire," Shining said.
"No! Don't let Cadance read the book! Please don't let her read it," Twilight said. Begging Shining Armor and clinging onto his hind leg.
"Twily, I have to go."
"Please please please please, please! Don't let Cadance read it! She'll never forgive me! She'll never love me as a sister-in-law!" Twilight continues to beg as Shining walks. He uses his magic to release Twilight's grip on him. Shining Armor trots towards the train station as Twilight starts to cry.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle, your actions have consequences. You have to take responsibility for your actions. As for the rest of you, any attempts of trying to meet with Spike without his approval will result in banishment from Equestrian Lands. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Princess," The girls said in unison.
"Thou the rest shall endure a week's nightmare of Spike's suffering during his lifespan. Thou ought to witness Spike's darkest moments in your dreams. I shall not intervene no matter the heart struck the dream shall be. Thou should see what it's like to be neglected and left behind," Princess Luna said. "This is my punishment to all of you for discriminating against a dragon. A baby dragon."
"Yes, Princess Luna," The girls said in unison.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle, I will not be staying here. I'm going back to Canterlot to resume my duties. You're going to learn how to use your magic to send me letters from now on."
"Yes, Princess Celestia."
"Farwell,"
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna fly back to Canterlot. The girls are now afraid of going to sleep. Pinkie vows to try her best to stay up all week long to avoid the nightmares. Twilight in her broken state accepts her demise and slowly walks up the stairs to her room. She gets in bed and clutches onto a picture of her and Spike. Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy leaves the library. They head home except for Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash goes with Fluttershy back to her cottage until her broken wing heals.
It's now midnight at the lemon tree orchard. The girls decide to sleepover at Lemon's house. They packed up everything Lemon and Spike brought out and head back to the house. The girls and Spike head up the stairs to the bedrooms. Spike gets in bed and looks out the window.
"I'm home. I'm happy. Nothing can ever change that," Spike said as he drifts to sleep.
