The Canterlot Guild

Learning the truth

Light and Fuze were starting to realize two things. One was the fact that their house was a pretty far walk from the school. The second one was the fact that they had no clue how to get home. As they were trying to find there way to their homes, a nice looking car drove and parked next to them. Before Light could start worrying, Flash walked out of the back driver side door. “Hey... Light, do you need a drive home?”

Fuze scoffed a bit. “We’re not dumb enough to go someplace with strange…”

Light quickly interrupted him. “These are some friends from school, and yes. We’d love a ride home.”

“Ok Fuze, you can go in the front passenger side, while you Light can be in the back with me and my little sisters.” Flash told the brothers.

A big grin came over Fuze’s face. “Finally! I get shotgun for once!”

Light chuckled as he got in the back with FastFox and ShyStone. It was a bit of a squeeze, but they managed to all fit in there.

Shy and Fast were both excited to see Light again. “Hi Light!” Fast said excitedly.

Light smiled a bit. “Hey kids. How’s Wolfy doing?”

Shy pulled him out of her bag. “We’ve been taking good care of him.”

Light was comforted to see his favorite toy in one piece. “I’m glad to see it. I’ll be sure to get started on those toys for you the second I get home. I might also introduce you all to my parents.”

As the girls squealed in excitement, Fuze was paying more attention to the car. “40 miles to the gallon, good horsepower, it definitely had some work done recently, but not a bad job.”

“Ya, just got it out of the shop, it has been there for 3 days, I had been hoping to have it ready and have it before school starts.” HottenBright told them. “But at last.“ She finished with a frown, before programming the GPS.

Fuze looked at the GPS with a disapproving glare. “They never make these things good enough. Let me mess with it.”

Hotten watched as Fuze plugged his phone into the car and started messing with the coding for it. As she was about to object to it, Light spoke up. “Just let him have his fun. It’ll keep him from taking this thing apart and building a new one. He gets bored easily, so we are always trying to find ways to put that brain into good use instead of him blowing the town up.”

“That was one fireworks display. You set one field on fire and you’ll never hear the end of it.” Fuze muttered as he kept messing with the GPS.

Light chuckled a bit as he turned to Flash. “Hey, I wanted to ask you about one of the people here. She’s… been helping me adjust a lot to this place. She’s been very patient with me, and I was wondering how I could make it up to her. She’s the kind girl with the yellow skin and the pink flowing hair. She… is also about as shy as Shystone.”

“Oh, that’s FlutterSHY!” HottenBright told them. “She loves animals, quiet places, and has a lovely singing voice.” She said while giving Light a wink through the mirror. “But for some reason, she is friends with that unhealthy eating talking cotton candy hair girl, Pinkie Pie.”

“Will I think she is a fun and likable girl.” Flash said.

“If you say so.” HottenBright told her cousin. “I just think she should eat a fruit salad, instead of candy and chocolate all the time.”

“Carrot cake counts for a veggie, right?” Light asked with a grin.

“Don’t you go putting ideas into those kid’s heads!” Hotten said while the girls were giggling in the back.

As they got to the house, they saw their dad pulling in. Light jumped out and ran over to hug him. “Hey dad! How was work?”

Golden smiled a bit to have his son with him and noting tears. “It was… unique. I need to talk to Book about you guys not walking home from school anymore. There’s… something big going on. Where is your brother?”

“He took his bike. He made friends with one of Moon’s buddies, and they went off for a meal.” Light said, trying to remember the complete lie.

“Unfortunately, he didn’t give good instructions.” They turned around to see Book walking from behind the house. “We’ll be doing lunch another day. Are you introducing dad to your new friends?”

Light was comforted to see his brother in one piece. “Of course. Dad, this is FlashTruth, HottenBright, FastFox, and ShyStone. At least three of them are autistic too.”

“Actually all 4 of us have AS!” HottenBright told Light’s father.

Golden smiled to see that Light was already making friends. “Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you all. I’m glad that you’re all getting along. Would you like to come inside? I’d love to talk to you for a while.”

The girls had a pleading look as they were tugging at Flash’s vest, but their wishes didn’t come true. “I’m sorry sir, but I promised my parents that I’d have my sisters home before it gets dark. I hope you understand.”

Golden nodded. “Sure thing.” He noticed how disappointed Light the kids were, so he decided to help them out. “Well, I’m having a get together with my family and the Apple family, maybe you can ask your parents if you can bring your family.”

Flash soon saw the excited looks in his sister’s faces. He sighed as he gave in to them. “I’ll talk to my parents about it. Thank you sir.”

Light waved to them as they drove off. As Light walked inside he realized that he had forgotten to ask for Wolfy. Light took a deep breath as he turned to his dad. “Hey, I promised them that I’d make some toys for them. Is it alright if I worked on them for a while?”

Golden nodded. “Sure thing. I’ll tell you when dinner is ready.”

As they all walked in, Golden looked tired. Gentle noticed this and walked over to hug hum. “Hey honey, how was work?”

Golden groaned a bit. “Well, I doubt you’d believe half of the stuff I’ve been learning about this town. There’s apparently a crime lord now that we need to deal with.”

Gentle gasped as she heard this. “I thought that this town didn’t have any major crimes?”

“It didn’t… till last night. Then there’s the fact that… something’s strange about this place. I went to a bank robbery… and found out that the people there were saved by a masked man and a large wolf.”

Gentle’s eyes widened. “What? You mean like a big dog?”

Golden wished it was just that simple. “No, I mean like from a horror film. The wolf runs off and I find out that the manager was kidnapped. Me and my partner followed them to an alleyway and found nothing. They got away without a trace. The manager was found in an apartment building a few blocks away, and then some people in suits show up half an hour later and take all of the evidence. My chief told me to just let it go and focus on crimes in progress. I got off duty a little while ago, but I’m still having a hard time believing what’s going on here.”

Gentle looked scared as she wrapped her arms around her husband. “Dear… do you think that we made the wrong decision moving here?”

Golden stopped and thought about it for a minute. He knew that there was now a danger that just came into town. A part of him would have liked to find a safer town, but then he thought about his kids. The three girls loved the new town. He had no complaints from the teachers about Fuze’s antics, meaning that he found this place interesting. Even Light was making friends and getting out of his shell.

Golden gave his wife a smile. “No. Our kids are growing here like they haven’t been before. I can handle this crime lord and whatever he throws at this town. I promise, this is the right town for our family.”

Gentle hugged Golden tightly, feeling safe with him. As they were talking about some of the other oddities in the town, Book was listening upstairs. “People in suits? That can’t be good.” He thought to himself.

The group arrived at school the next day, and they walked into the hall to find Applejack and Full Moon talking about something. Applejack slapped Moon and stormed off as Moon punched the locker in rage.

“What happened?” Light asked his furious cousin.

“Applejack is quite angry at me for doing something I wasn’t supposed to do,” Moon explained as he looked at Book, “I mean she does the same thing, but when I do them, she is angry.”

Light put a hand on his cousin, “Hey, I sure you two would fix this, maybe buy her a flower, or talk to her.”

“No,” Moon told Light, “I know what I have to do, but can you help me with this?” Light nodded.

“What do you need?” Light asked.

“Remember that wolf monster from the other day?” Moon took his phone, and he showed him a picture, “I need you to build a bear that look like him with a heart in the middle. Could you do that?”

Light nodded, “Yeah, it would be easy enough, but why this monster wolf? Wouldn’t you prefer a smiling apple?”

“That is a great Idea!” Moon smiled, “You should give him an apple to hold in his paws. Great idea.”

“Anything for you,” Light smiled, “But can you do something for me?” Light asked his cousin

“Yeah what do you need?” Moon asked, as he walked along Light and the others.

“I need you to help me with Fluttershy.”

Moon smiled, he wasn’t surprised at all to hear that, “Yeah of course, I can help you now, every day after school she is working at the animal shelter, sign there, try to learn what she is love, and try to be that guy.” Light nodded, and the group walked to the class, leaving Moon and Book alone.

“Did you told her?” Moon asked Book who tried to go the class, “You need to tell Sunset.”

“What would I tell her?” Book asked, annoyed, “That I saw someone who looked like her, robbing a bank and helping a new mobster?”

“Sunset could help us,” Moon told his cousin, “She is aware of this kind of things.”

“I told you, I work alone,” Book repeated himself, “And I could defeat this Dark Prince myself. I fought bigger than him.”

“I don’t think you have a choice,” Moon told his cousin, “After I left you, I returned home, and some woman came to me, she knows who we are, Book, and she wants our help to stop Dark Prince.”

Book’s eyes widened when he said that. “My dad was talking about some organization who took over the investigation. What did this lady look like?”

“She was old, with grey hair, and glasses, she was wearing a business suit, and an old hat, and purple glasses.”

Book winced a bit as he talked about her. “You didn’t tell her about me, did you?”

“You don’t listen,” Moon answered, annoyed, “She is already knows who you are, she is aware of all those who is with powers, or know about powers, she wants us to stop the man.”

“Has it comes to your mind that she might be with Dark Prince? How did she even learn about who I was, let alone what you can do?” Book asked

“She knew about my curse Book,” Moon answered with sorrow at the mention of the subject, “How I got it, how I control it, and she told she could help me with a cure. She told me if we will help her to stop Prince, she would help me, she told me she needs the beast, but after that, she would help me.”

“But how do you know that we aren’t being played?” Book asked.

“How much of a choice do we have?” Moon asked, “She told me that she needs the heroes of Canterlot to save the city, and we must do what’s right. She told me that what my father would do.”

Book took a deep breath. “Well, if she does know my identity… I don’t have much of a say in it. Tell you what, I’ll just tell Sunset that my dad had a description of the robbery suspect and I thought it might have been her. I keep my secret from her while letting her know that there’s an evil double of her. Deal?”

Moon nodded as they enter the classroom. Book continued to walk as Moon grabbed his arm, and he pointed at the teacher. The woman had a business suit, grey long hair, an old hat, and she had a purple glasses, “Book, that’s the woman.”

Book looked at her for a moment and then turned to Moon. “Does she remind you of some action movie? I could have sworn that I’ve seen a face like that.”

“No,” Moon answered immediately, “But she reminds me of Rainbow Dash.”

“Speaking of which, now I get to practice sports and fighting with her. Well, at least it will keep my skills sharp.” Book thought as he was trying to find a way to talk to Sunset without the lady noticing.

“Mr. Moon, Mr. Knight,” The teacher called the two, “If you two be kind to follow me to the principal’s office, and explain to me why you are late.”

Book knew that they were there on time, but this was her way of showing them who was in charge now. All he could do was nod and follow her.

Moon and Book followed the teacher to the principal’s office, where they saw Wilde Shock, Sunset Shimmer, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight.

“What are ya’ doing here?” Applejack asked Moon.

“I can ask you the same question Sugarcube.” Moon smirked as Applejack rolled her eyes.

“At least they don’t know that Light and Fuze helped me make my stuff.” Book thought while sitting down with them. “We were three seconds late. A perfect excuse for us to join you here.”

“Mr. Knight, don’t play me for a fool,” The teacher said in cold tone, “Your cousin already told you about me, and my offer to him.”

“Which I am very thankful,” Moon answered, “But, why are the girls and Wilde Shock here?”

“More importantly, are you telling then about… me?” Book asked seriously.

“You know why Mr. Moon,” the teacher answered, “And for you Mr. Knight, I am willing to keep your secret in exchange for your help. This Dark Prince is not the usual criminal, he’s a cult leader, and he had more than he seems.”

“Wait! What secret is she talking about Book?” Dash asked in confusion.

“You don’t have to, Book,” Moon told his cousin, “You don’t need to tell them.”

“Tell us what?” Dash asked again, standing to her feet.

“That he is the vigilante that has been known as Shadow Knight.” Moon stared at the woman with rage, and Applejack held her boyfriend arm, as she knew that glare.

Book glared at the lady. “There’s an intercom right behind you, why don’t you tell the world? Thanks for keeping the secret, A.K. Yearling. That’s your name, isn’t it?”

“Impressive, Mr. Knight,” Yearling smiled, “Very impressive.”

“The film version looks way younger, but it’s becoming clear to me where the inspiration comes from. You never made a public appearance for your films, and now I know why.”

“Ohh, you need sunscreen, because you got burned!” Wilde Shock laughed, and Rarity hit him in the head.

Dash was now in more shock to see her favorite movie maker and writer in front of her. “Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!”

“Dash!” Applejack shouted at her friend, “She is making us, ma boyfriend, and his cousin do something against they will.” Applejack turned to Moon, and she knew what was on stakes.

“To be frank, I already had full plans to take on Dark Prince, even fought him twice already.” Book explained.

“And yet, you failed to catch him. I give you a better chance to stop him.

“He has found a source of superhuman strength and dexterity. My throwing stars did nothing to him. By the way, Sunset, may you show me your hands real quick?”

“And I fought him as well,” Sunset answered as she gave Book her hands, “He is aware of my past somehow, and he had knowledge about magic.”

Book saw no scars, so he figured that he was good. “I can explain that. I lied about where I met your double. She was there when I first fought Dark Prince. She was swinging a sword at me and I gave her a lovely scar on her right hand.”

“Did ya knew about that?” Applejack asked Moon.

“I will explain all later, okay?” Moon smiled.

“He only found out about me yesterday after the bank robbery. He and his canine nose.” Book explained. “Nobody else knows about my hobby.”

“Wolf senses of smell, thank you,” Moon fixed him

“Wolfs are a breed of dog…” Fluttershy started to explain, but turned silent when their eyes turned to her. “Nevermind.”

“ All of you have special gifts,” Yearlings explained, “This is more than you fought before, this is a universe that is at stake. Prince has already two of the seven artifacts of Sombra, if he gets them all, he will tear the wall of Equestria and our universe, and he will bring back Sombra.”

“So… we know about Wilde’s and Moon’s powers. What kind of powers do you have Book? Teleportation, transmutation, shadow manipulation, maybe vampirism?” Twilight asked.

“None of the above.” Book said plainly.

“Well, you’re not just some guy in a costume darling.” Rarity said, waiting for a response. All they saw from Book was a big grin. “Darling? You’re scaring me.”

“Well not,” a voice came from Wilde Shock’s jacket, Shock took his phone, and he found out that he was hacked, and Book knew the voice, “He also has the best technology wizard in town.”

“Expect me to… borrow all of your phones.” Book muttered as he took the phone and yelling at it. “FUZE!!! Are you trying to get wrapped up into this? I had your cover secured until you showed up!”

“Do you have any mind wiper?” Moon asked Yearling, “We need something like that.”

“No,” Yearling answered, “But we can take him out.”

“Don’t! He… Fuze is the guy who makes my gear. He had a knack for getting bored and I wanted to be a hero, I bought him the tools needed to make my stuff, and he loved the challenge. So only he and I know about the whole Shadow Knight thing.”

“And now us!” Two feminine voices answered through the phone.

“Who in the world are you two?” Book asked.

“I know that voice!” Pinkie answered, “It’s on the tip of my tongue.”

“I am sorry,” Fuze answered, “These are FastFox and Shystone.”

Book bit his lip. “And now my identity means nothing. Thanks a lot Fuze! In your attempt to spy on us and look cool you blew my identity!”

“It was already blown.” Fuze replied. “I’ll just offer them some candy.”

“So,” Wilde Shock smiled, “A dark knight, a monster, a group of super powered girls, and super genius, sounds like a dream team.”

“You mean you will let me make the gear for this group? YES!!!” Fuze yelled on the phone.

“Wait a minute!” Rarity took the phone from Book, “No one will make a new suit for my friends and my annoying ex except me!”

“Lady who I can see though the camera, have you ever made homemade body armor before? Have you made any weapons before? Have you integrated shock paddles into a pair of gauntlets that can be turned on and off?”

“Well no, but,” Rarity tried to explain, and Wilde took the phone from her.

“Hey Fuze, buddy, just agree, it would save a lot of time.”

“Fine, I’ll handle the useful stuff, the lady can just make it look pretty. Sounds good?” Fuze asked.

“Sounds fabulous, darling,” Rarity answered, and she closed the phone, and turned to Wilde Shock, “I didn’t need you for that.”

“Of course not, darling,” Wilde Shock smirked.

Book groaned a bit. “Great, now there’re two kids who Fuze is going to try bribing with candy to keep them silent. I blame you A.K. So, what Intel do you have on Dark Prince?”

“I have the information on two possible targets that he would attack, the armor of darkness, and the key to the cape of misery,” Yearling answered, “The key is under the custody of a Spoiled Rich and her husband Filthy rich, who Sunset, Applejack, Wilde Shock and Rarity would need to defend. The armor is under custody of the museum to dark lords, and it would be moved in two weeks to the docks, we must protect the truck, Moon, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, and Pinkie, that’ll be your job.”

Book soon realized that he was the odd man out. “And what about me? I’m glad that I’m working alone, but what’s my mission?”

“I need you to break into the castle of Dark Prince, and find the plans of attacks and targets.”

“Wait! You’re going to ask this guy to break into the main bad guy’s place and have him steal his plans alone?” Dash asked in shock.

Book just grinned and nodded. “Sounds good to me. I’ll do it. Just tell me where the castle is.”

“If it helps, I would send my best agent with him,” Yearling answered to unrelaxed Dash.

“Don’t bother, I work the best alone.” Book said as he stretched out his arms.

“Good, so tonight, we will meet at the school for training as a team,” Yearling smiled as she gave all of the kids’ id cards with their names, “Welcome to E. M. P. “ Yearling left the office, leaving the kids alone.

Book looked at the card for a minute before turning to the others. ” We’ll need a better reason than detention to get together though. How about a club? It’s give A.K. A way to babysit us and would give us an excuse to be out late.”

Twilight thought about it. “I guess it could work. Most club activities aren’t monitored unless a teacher is there.”

“We need a name,” Pinkie said, “Like the power ponies, or the equestrian defenders or...”

“How about the Canterlot guild?” Sunset asked, and everyone agreed.

“Why not? We are fighting against a guy with medieval tactics and styles. Let’s fight fire with fire.” Book answered with a shrug.

“And we will not be sued for copyright infringement,” Pinkie answered, and everyone looked at her with confusion.

“Hey SugarCube,” Moon looked at Applejack, “It seems that now we are super couple.” Applejack laughed as everyone rolled their eyes.

“Don’t ya think Ah am not mad at you,” Applejack told Moon as the boy walked for a kiss.

Book felt a little concerned with this new team. “Tell me, do any of you have any combat training?”

“You saw me fight this Iron Will,” Moon put his hands behind his neck, proud of his achievement, “I think I would do just fine.”

“And we fought monsters in our past,” Sunset smiled, “No offend Moon.”

“Why do you think that say no offend is not making the words less offensive,” Moon asked himself.

“Good. I don’t want to be the guy to be carrying the whole team.” Book muttered as he got ready to head back to his own class.

Light was glad whenever there was a pause between the classes. It gave him a chance to breathe. He was barely able to keep up with the classes, and was dreading the day when he’d need to write a paper in a time limit. He could do multiple choice, math, and basic questions fairly well, but writing sentences longer than a paragraph was a nightmare.

He was doing whatever he could not to get into trouble for his disability, but that did nothing for his anxiety. As he was getting his books for the next class he heard two voices from behind him. “Hi Light!”

Hearing the two kids actually took away some of his stress. Light gave FastFox and ShyStone a big smile as he turned around. “Hey girls. How are you doing?”

“Better than yesterday.” Shy answered. “By the way, here’s Wolfy. We took good care of him and made sure that he didn’t get dirty or anything. Thank you for letting us borrow him.”

Light was relieved to have Wolfy back. “Thank you both. Now, I think that I made a promise to you two.” Light reached into his back to reveal the two toys they requested.

The girls squealed in joy at seeing their toys for the first time. “Thankyouthankyouthankyou!” They both chanted simultaneously.

Light smiled to see them so excited. Something about helping them out helped take away the stress of school. “Now, if your toy ever gets hurt then you can tell Flash, and he’ll let me know, so I can fix them.”

Both of the kids hugged Light. “Thank you so much Light.” Fast said.

“You’re welcome. Now, you had better get going to your next class.” Light said, letting the girls run off with their new toys.

“Oh yeah, We promise to keep your brother’s secret.” Shy said before they turned the corner.

“My brother’s what now?” Light didn’t get a response from them.

Light took a deep breath as he once again felt alone. Book was becoming more distant, and he only got to talk to Flash a few times a day. He wanted to talk to Fluttershy again, but a part of him was asking if she’d even be interested in somebody like him.

Light lowered his head as he patted Wolfy. “I guess it’s just you and me Wolfy.”

As Light was rubbing Wolfy’s head, his arm started glowing. Light could only stare in fear and disbelief as his hand was doing something he couldn’t control. “What is this?” Light asked in fear as he tried to stop whatever what was happening to it.

Light’s hand finally stopped glowing, leaving him in a panicked state. Light rubbed his hand and arm to try to feel if something was wrong, but it still felt like a human hand. “How… What… My…” Light was trying to string together a sentence, but the words seemed to fail him.

“Hey Light, are you okay?”

“Um… I don’t know. I’ve got no…” Suddenly Light realized who, or what was speaking.

Light looked into his bag to see his favorite stuffed animal now looking at him with innocent eyes, his crossed arms resting on the top of the bag. It’s form seemed to change, making the mouth and eyes move. “Is something wrong?” The toy asked.

Light yelped as he dropped the bag. Wolfy didn’t seem to get hurt. He merely crawled out of the bag and stood up, walking towards Light. “Hey man! What’s wrong?”

Light tried moving his mouth, but no words could come out. This toy had the exact voice that he imagined for him. Slowly one word managed to escape Light’s mouth. “W… Wolfy?”

“Uh, yeah. I’m your best friend, remember?” Wolfy asked in an innocent voice.

Light was in utter amazement. He cautiously picked Wolfy up, shocked as his paws held on to his hands. “B… But how?”

Wolfy shrugged as he looked at his paws. “My guess is as good as yours. Hey, at least this will be more fun, right?”

Light did have dreams about Wolfy coming to life, but never expected it to become a reality. Light knew that he was the cause of this, but had no clue how he did it. Suddenly his watch went off, warning him of the bell. Light mentally thanked Flash as he covered his ears to the piercing sound.

He quickly picked up Wolfy and put him in his bag. “I need to get to class. We’ll figure this out later.”

Wolfy whimpered inside of the bag. “Why do I need to stay here? It’s stuffy in this bag.”

“Because people are going to go nuts when they see you walking and talking.” Light whispered as he bumped into a lady in a suit.

A.K. Looked curious at Light as he tried to back way. “Where you talk to somebody?”

Light nervously grinned as he tried to back out of the conversation. “Um… I’m a ventriloquist. I was just practicing.”

“Hey! Do I look like a dummy.” Wolfy asked from the bag.

“You look more like luggage to me.” Light said, faking a laugh as he walked away, whispering into the bag. “I need you to keep quiet. You’re going to get me into trouble!”

As Light left place, A. K took her phone, and she called her best agent, “Agent Drops, I think we found another enhanced by magic, I need you to keep an eye on the police as I will stay here and find more about the students.” A. K closed her phone and walked away.

Phyrax was cuffed in the interrogation room as Golden and his partner questioned him.

“So,” Golden looked at the gangster, “What the leader of the changelings do with a new gangster in town?”

Phyrax smiled as he looked at the two, “Why do you think I need a reason to do trouble?”

Golden chuckled. “I just wondered if you were just wanting a room for the night. Our hotel isn’t the nicest, but the security is nice.”

“Trust me, officer...” Phyrax asked the name of the policeman.

“Name’s Golden, but you probably don’t know me as well as my dad. Silver Sterling.” Golden said, hoping to scare him.

“Have some daddy issues?” Phyrax smirked, “You need to mention your daddy to get respect?”

“Well, I just bought him up because I thought you were afraid that I would use his interrogation technique. Don’t worry. That’s illegal now.” Golden said, towering over him.

“What do you know about my people Officer Golden?” Phyrax asked Golden as he looked at the cameras.

Golden pulled out a file. “I know about your brother. He got a scholarship for a school, and is currently the head of a fundraising group to help your town out. Although once people get wind of this, maybe you’ll see him in a cell next to you in a few months.”

“Are you threaten me?” Phyrax asked Golden, annoyed.

“Of course not. I’m just saying if people find out that you are a dangerous gang leader they’ll not be willing to help your brother. You know what little brothers do when they’re confused. They follow in their family’s footsteps. You have no parents, so what do you think your brother will do? I’m just… stating the inevitable.” Golden said.

“The changelings are my family, and I will accept my brother to my people, and you will suffer for trying to make me afraid.”

“But you’re going to jail. No brother to help him. Tell me, do you love your brother?” Golden asked, sitting down in his chair.

Phyrax started to laugh, “You think he is my only brother, as I said, the changelings are my family, as we are the blood of the old Changeling warriors, now that the true king has returned, we will rise again.”

Golden chuckled as he looked at the file. “Word on the street is that you’re not the big man anymore. Somebody else has taken over your hive. Tell me, who is this king of yours?”

“I believe you met him, the blood of Sombra. Now tell me, who is the one who took my hive?”

Golden didn’t bother to answer. “So, you’re a slave to a tyrant. I expected more from the leader of the changeling. No wonder you lost the hive.”

“I heard enough of you, officer! If you think that I will spill the plan of Sombra, then you are wrong!” Phryrax shouted

Golden grinned. “Wrong, I know that you have a plan. That’s all I need to make you suffer. Do you know that we can release you right now? Most gang members take it as a sign that you ratted them out. You’ll be telling the truth, but they won’t believe you. You’ll be a threat to be taken out.”

“Then you don’t know Sombra, you caught me, I am dead. His bride soon will come to kill me, why do you think I am afraid of you.”

“Because you need to know that I’m the only person here who can protect you. I’m the most dangerous person here. I’m either your guardian angel, or your demon.”

“My life will be meaningless soon, there is no place that the bride of Sombra won’t break into, but if I tell you something, I want your word that my brother will be safe.”

“Tell me what I want, and I’ll make sure of it personally.” Golden assured.

“Sombra is after the armor and the key,” Phyrax wrote it down, “Can I have some water?”

Golden handed him a plastic cup with water. “I’ll try to make sure that you’ll live through this, along with your brother. Is there anything else you can tell us?”

Phyrax drank from the cup as he started to cough, “I have nothing more to tell… You, officer,” the coughs grew larger and larger as blood started to get out of the man’s nose, and his body turned purple, “Remember the… Promise!” Phyrax fell to the table, all life was sucked out of him.

Golden quickly ran to him, trying to help him. “Get me a medic!” Golden tried checking his pulse, but found nothing. Golden hit the table as he realized that he gave him the tool of his death.

As the other officers ran in, Golden walked up to Silver. “We need to put his brother into protective custody. Sombra is after some form of armor and a key.”

“I am afraid that the case is out of your control, Mr. Golden,” A feminine voice spoke behind Golden, and he turned to see a teenage girl, in the age of Book and Light, wearing a business suit. She wore black sunglasses, and her hair was split into blue and pink.

“Can I get some I.D.? No offense, but our water supply was just poisoned. I hope you understand.” Golden said, looking sceptical at the little girl.

“None taken,” The girl smiled and gave Golden her I. D, “Agent Sweetie Drops of E.M. P, Equestrian magic protectors. The case you’re in is now under our control, M sent me to work with you.”

Golden looked at the badge before handing it back. “I met one of your agents the other day. So, we have a dead rat, his brother in danger, and a vague clue. I’m surprised that somebody… your age would be sent to help us.”

“It seems that you need all the help you can get,” Agent Drops smirked, “And the brother is now on a plane to Spain as we speak, but the rat was murdered by one of us. I ask you now to keep the case in secret.”

Golden raised an eyebrow. “We’ve got a dead body on our hands. We can’t just sweep that under the rug.”

“And how do you think the man was murdered?” Agent Drops asked, as she took the files about the robberies from Golden’s desk, “There is a mole here.”

Golden thought about it for a minute. “Meaning that nobody here can be trusted… not even me. Especially not me.” Golden started to realize that he would be a prime suspect. He was the one who gave Phyrax the poisoned water, and was the newest officer there.

“Now you’re understood,” Drops said while she finished with the files, ” That is why I’m here. M doesn’t want Prince to know anything we know, so now you’re my partner.”

Golden raised an eyebrow. “In spite of the fact that you’re about the age of some of my kids, why me? I’ve just had a suspect die on me. All I have going for me right now if the fact that I’m the best with firearms here.”

“M seems to trust you, and I am not arguing with M.” Drops walked out of the building as she turned to Golden, “Do not worry about the armor and the key. M had it all planned.” Agent Drops left the building, and Golden was more and more confused.

Silver walked up with his hands in his pockets. “So, what now? We have no evidence, and no case. We also might be looking at the end of your career if you get the heat for that kid’s death.”

Golden knew that he will be the one thrown under the bus if he didn’t find anything. “Let’s go over all of the security camera footage, after that let’s do a bit of research on Sombra. From what it looks like, that’s our mastermind’s pattern.”

Silver looked concerned. “Golden, I know that there’s now one kid safe, but what about your family? If they find out that you’re still looking into this, your kids might be a target.”

Golden patted the gun on his belt. “Then that Dark Prince will see me at my worst.”
