Dear Toby Cray,

This is Princess Celestia of Equestria. Twilight has spent the better part of this day explaining to my sister and I about your existence. I was also rather tickled to be able to see the appearance of your latest letter firsthand, and I'm very much amazed by this phenomenon, as well as my sister. I'm not certain how this could have happened, but for the time being, I'll let this anomaly be for discretion's sake.

I've also read all your letters to Twilight, as well as Spike and Pinkie Pie up until this point, and I've seen the picture you sent to her, and you seem like an exceptionally nice, friendly creature. Though I'm sure there are just as friendly humans such as yourself out there in your world, my sister and I shall respect your wishes to keep Equestria's existence private from your kind, and you can do so at your own leisure.

I've also read some of the numerous notes Twilight had made during the reading of your history books. Your history is quite colorful to say the very least, but rest assured. The fact that you've formed such a clear bond with my former student in the span of just a couple of weeks only serves as a testament to how strong the ideals of friendship must still be on your world. In any case, Twilight has finished reading your textbooks and should have no further need for them. They will be returned to you with this letter.

Before I can send you one of the two journals you and Twilight intend to communicate through, all I shall need from you is a signature; simply something to prove your approval of receiving one and to prove on our end that we sanctioned both of these journals to you. You said that you may not respond until the morning, but given your scholarly schedule, I should imagine that you shall receive your journal by the time you return home tomorrow afternoon.
