//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: EoH Evolution: Season 4 // by Bahamut0 //------------------------------// Burst Stream let out a sigh of relief as he removed his coat and shirt as he entered his house that night. It had been peaceful since he had destroyed Shining Dawn, but there were still the minor nuisances that troubled Unityville. Timberwolves and other creatures from the Everfree that didn't know better than to try and attack a town under the protection of the Elements of Heroism. Three of which had become avatars, literal gods among mortals. Still, it gave them a bit of excitement outside of the usual craziness of the town's antics. And that's not counting the fact Celestia and I have broken things off to give each other some space. Burst Stream thought with a smile. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her. But. . . He smiled when he noticed a plate of food waiting for him. Someone else just as important's come into my life. And I guess you could say I owe all that I am to her. Burst Stream happily scarfed down the food set aside for him, and ventured into his bedroom. Smiling when he saw a particular guest waiting for him. "I figured you'd be keeping the bed warm for me Moon." "I wouldn't need to if you hadn't kept me waiting." Nightmare Moon said with a smile as she beckoned Burst to come closer. Her choice of sleepwear being undergarments rarity had prepared for her. "But after waiting for a thousand years for someone to love a fallen princess like myself? I'd wait to much longer if it meant finding someone like you." Burst chuckled to himself as he lay down next to his first villain. Now his latest girlfriend. "I didn't think guys like me were your type. I'm even more impressed that you didn't try to seduce me while you were undergoing reformation under my custody." "What can I say? Opposites attract." Nightmare Moon said in a sultry tone as she moved closer to Burst Stream. "Just like our colors contrast so nicely." She was then on top of him, and staring him right in the eyes. "Who knows? Maybe light and dark are supposed to be lovers like we are." Burst blushed a little. He and Nightmare Moon had just started their relationship after the last Grand Gala where he'd confessed his feelings to her. And yet here she was being quite intimate with him and they hadn't even gone a first date yet! "You said it yourself. I'm your precious light." Burst Stream replied. "But I guess you could also say that bad girls love good guys. Though you're the only one to actually win my heart. Chrysalis tried to get me, but I don't consider her as attractive as you in either outer or inner beauty Moon. Plus, she made it incredibly obvious that she wasn't aiming for a relationship." "And now I have another reason to not like her. Seeing you as nothing more than tool for her ends." Nightmare Moon said as she wrapped her arms around Burst Stream. Gradually bringing her wings around him too. "So. Just how much do I outclass her in both fields of beauty?" She then smirked. "Besides my obvious assets." "Well, you've got better hair than her for starters." Burst Stream said with a smile. "And you've got a big heart. I'd say that's the only reason your so well-endowed. Just to contain it. But more than anything, you wanted me to love you for who you are. Not what you tried to be. Just like-" Burst Stream paused as memories started to play in his head. Nightmare Moon taking instant notice. "Just like Celestia, right?" Nightmare Moon asked. "Hey. You said that the two of you would try to patch things up, right? Shouldn't you be happy about that?" "You're right. I should be." Burst Stream said with a sigh. "But now? I'm not so sure. Especially since we just started being a couple now. I mean, look at us. We're already living together. You've helped me through an incredibly tough emotional moment not too long ago. I helped you move past who you were and into who you are now. There's been an attraction building between the two of us for a while now. And if I manage to fix things with Celestia? I really wouldn't know what to do." Burst Stream took a deep breath. "It would be so easy just to pick up where I left off with her. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't want that to happen. But how could I live with myself if I just left you like that?" Burst Stream sat up and looked sadly into Nightmare Moon's eyes. "Moon, you've been alone for so much of your life. And you've only recently discovered friends in your former enemies on top of falling for me while you were reforming. You told me that part of why you've come so far right now is because of me. I've only just started loving you now. How heartless would it be of me to just leave you alone like that?" Nightmare Moon was silent as she slowly touched her forehead to Burst Stream's. "You really are too good to me my precious light." She said as she tightened her hold on Burst Stream. "Even if you aren't in my arms, you'll always take up space in my heart. I don't care if I have to share it with Celestia. All that matters is that I have a place in your heart." "Hearing that really makes me feel better Moon." Burst Stream said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around the dark goddess. "But right now? You've got all of my heart. And I've got a lot to give." Burst Stream went in for a kiss, and Nightmare Moon eagerly returned it. The two soon falling asleep in each other's arms. It'll be a bit chaotic. But then again, whoever said love would be simple? Meanwhile, a dimensional tear opened up. Releasing the minions Discord had summoned upon his return. The Chaos Kin. Things would definitely be more chaotic now.
