//------------------------------// // Ladyshy // Story: Cindershy : Cinderella AU // by Crystal Aura //------------------------------// One day, a letter gets addressed to Cindershy’s house. Lady Rarity, her step-mother, called out to Cindershy and said “Cindershy! Where are you, you no-good girl?” Hearing this, Cindershy sighed & said “Coming, mother.” She was cleaning her bedroom when Lady Rarity called out to her. She made her way out of her bedroom, came down the stairs & into the living room where her step-mother was busy reading the newspaper. “I told you to get me the letters, didn’t I? Where are they?” Lady Rarity asked angrily. “But, you didn’t-” Fluttershy started but was interrupted by her step-mother. “Hush now! I don’t want to hear another word! You are of no good! Now go & get me my letters!” Lady Rarity shouted at Cindershy. “Yes, mother.” Cindershy went to the mailbox & found two to three letters. When she went through them, she found that one letter was having the Royal Stamp on it. She wondered what it might be. She went into the living room, kept the letters on the coffee table & went back to her chores. At dinner time, Lady Rarity was having a huge grin on her face. Lady Trixie, one of Cindershy’s step-sisters inquired the reason of the grin. Lady Rarity said “Oh, darling! Why wouldn’t I be happy? A Ball is being held next Sunday at the Palace! All the maidens residing in Kingdom are to come as this Ball is solely for the purpose of choosing a bride for the Prince himself! I’m absolutely sure that one of you will be the Prince’s bride! After all, you are my daughters, daughters of Lady Rarity herself, who is the most beautiful in all of the land! And if one of you will be the Prince’s bride, the other will be married off to a rich man, ofcourse!” Cindershy was doing her chores when she heard the conversation. She became overjoyed but sad at the same moment as she knew that her step-mother wouldn’t even think once to take her along. Still, she kept some hope in her heart that maybe deep inside, her step-mother wasn’t so bad & would allow her to join them. She was made to make her step-sisters ready for the Grand day. They made her do their pedicure & manicure, iron their gowns & all the things they needed. Finally the day of the Ball came. Her step-sisters were wearing their gowns with a lot of makeup. Cindershy wore a dress that belonged to her mom & some jewellery too. Lady Rarity, looking at Cindershy said “Where do you think you’re going?” “To the Ball with you, mother” Cindershy replied. “You’re not coming with us. And where did you get that dress from? Did you buy it with my money?!” Lady Rarity said with rage. “I assure you, mother, this dress was of no expense. It belonged to my mom.” Cindershy said, a bit frightened. “Don’t let me repeat myself, get it? I don’t even know why you call me your mother for you are just a menial SERVANT. You will not go to the Ball & that’s that!” Lady Rarity said, angrily. “Please, mother, just tonight. I only want to see my friend.” Cindershy pleaded with her step-mother. “With whom? That ROGUE? Had I not told you to never meet him again? Do you listen to me? Why should I listen to you? You are staying here itself.” Lady Rarity scoffed. Lady Trixie, gets an idea & strips Cindershy of her dress. Cindershy, both angry & sad, said “HOW COULD YOU?! Why are you always so cruel to me?!” “Because you need to know your place, you ragged SERVANT GIRL!” Lady Trixie says & joins her mother who was waiting for her in the carriage. They go, leaving Cindershy crying all over. Cindershy goes to her parents’ grave & sobbed “I’m so sorry, Mom & Dad! I can’t do this anymore! I tried. I tried to be kind. I wanted to see the good in everyone. But it hurts. It hurts so much! I know it’s wrong, but I want to be selfish! Why do I have to go through this alone? .....Please...someone..... I wish you were here, Draconequus.” An old lady comes near her & asks “What is wrong, my dear?” “I just wanted to go to the Ball. Is it wrong to wish to be happy for myself, just this once?” Cindershy asks, still sobbing. “There’s nothing wrong with that, dearie. In Fact, if you wish hard enough, with a little magic, it might come true.” the old lady says warmly. “Thank you, but, everyone knows that magic isn’t real. Parents just say it to entertain their children.” Cindershy says sadly. “Hehe, I don’t know about that. I happen to be very good at wishes & magic. To be honest, I’m your Fairy Godmother!” the old lady says as she turns into a Fairy. “Oh my, oh my goodness! You- you are a real fairy godmother!” Cindershy says, clearly surprised. “I hope I didn’t startle you! Now let’s start to get you to the Ball. I need a pumpkin first.” Twilight the Fairy, said. “But, may I ask dearest Godmother, why do you require a pumpkin?” Cindershy asked puzzled at the said order. “Hehe, well, you see, I need to make you a carriage that’ll take you to the Ball!” Twilight said happily. “I- I see. But my dress is all torn &-” Cindershy started but got interrupted by her Godmother. “Not to worry! I have everything under control. Now, about that pumpkin.” Twilight said in an urgent tone. “Oh, yes, of course.” Cindershy said as she wiped her tears & went into her house to find a pumpkin. Luckily they had one & she gave it to her Godmother. “Okay then. Remember, after I do some magic, you’ll have to be back by midnight, okay? I’ll explain more as we go on, but now we’ll need to rush a bit. SPARKLE ON!” Twilight said as Cindershy suddenly got dressed up in the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. The pumpkin was also turned into a carriage with horses & chauffeur waiting for her. She had no idea from where horses & the chauffeur had come from but then she climbed into her carriage, making her way to the Ball.
