Twilight Velvet was washing some plates as Night Light was sitting at the table while reading a newspaper. It was another normal day, suddenly, they heard somepony opening the front door, Night Light turned around and saw his little filly, Twilight Sparkle, enter in the house, she had a doll on her back, Miss Smarty Pants, he smiled.
“How was your day with Princess Celestia Twilight?” He asked curiously, a few weeks have passed since Twilight became Celestia’s personal protégé, and he couldn’t be prouder of her.
“Good.” She simply responded as she hurried to the stairs.
“I’m happy you enjoy taking lessons from Princess Celestia! I’ll go to the shop later; do you want to come with me, I’ll buy you a new book!” Velvet said smiling.
“No time, I want to practice what Princess Celestia taught me!” She exclaimed as she ran to her room, she closed the door as the silence filled the house, Velvet sighed.
“Something wrong honey?” Night Light asked.
“I noticed it a few days ago, Twilight and I spend less time with each other, I feel like my poor baby doesn’t need me anymore.” She started, Night Light looked surprised. “And, it’s just how I see it, but it’s been like this since Twilight became Princess Celestia’s student.”
“Now, come on, you’re only imagining things, your relationship with Twilight didn’t change at all, she is Princess Celestia’s personal student after all, she needs to work more than every other unicorn, so she has less time.” Night Light explained to his wife, Velvet looked away.
“I’m sorry but I must disagree, even if she’s Celestia’s student, she doesn’t have to practice every time nonstop! And did you notice how often Twilight is talking about Princess Celestia?” Velvet asked narrowing her eyes in annoyance, Night Light shook his head, Twilight doesn’t talk about Princess Celestia nonstop, does she? “How… grrr… she’s talking about her every time she comes down!”
“Twilight comes downstairs only for lunch and dinner.”
“Exactly! She rarely comes here and when she does, she’s talking about Celestia, saying how she is so awesome, amazing and perfect!” She exclaimed getting angrier by each passing minute.
“Honey, I don’t like where this is going.”
“Me neither, Princess Celestia is taking, no, stealing all the rare time I can spend with Twilight!”
“I… wasn’t talking about that. I don’t like what you’re starting to say, it feels like you’re blaming Princess Celestia.” Night Light said worryingly.
“Because I am! Don’t you see? Princess Celestia is trying to steal my Twilight!” Velvet cried while tears were flowing down her face.
“Now, you’re a little exaggerating, aren’t you? I don’t see why Princess Celestia would want to steal Twilight from us.” Night Light tried to calm her down.
“Because is the perfect daughter! I’m sure this is why Celestia wants to take her from me!” Velvet cried even more, Night Light looked away, he really didn’t know what to tell her, it didn’t look like she’ll listen to him anyway. Suddenly, Velvet stood up and wiped her tears. “I know! I’ll try to spend more time with Twilight, even if she doesn’t want to! I won’t let Celestia take her away from me!” She exclaimed as she quickly ran to Twilight’s room.
“Why I feel like nopony in this house is listen to me?” Night Light wondered
Velvet opened the door of Twilight’s room and looked inside, Twilight was trying to cast some kind of spell, but Velvet wasn’t paying attention to that.
“Twilight, can I come in?” Velvet asked, she didn’t wait for an answer as she entered the room. Twilight interrupted her spell and looked at her.
“Mom? Is something wrong, I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?” Twilight asked as Velvet laughed.
“Of course not, I was just wondering if you wanted to spend some time with me, we could, go outside, in the park or maybe have a girl talk, you know?” Velvet asked, Twilight was about refuse but Velvet spoke again. “Great! You can take Smarty Pants if you want, I’ll wait you downstairs!” She exclaimed happily as she ran out of Twilight’s room.
“Well, I guess I don’t have much of a choice.” Twilight said as she put Smarty Pants on her back.
Velvet opened the front door and waited Twilight, Night Light was staring at her as Twilight finally came.
“We’re going out, I don’t know when we’ll be back!” Velvet exclaimed as she went out of the house, followed by Twilight, Night Light sighed and closed the door.

“Mom, where are we going?” Twilight asked as she followed her mother.
Velvet didn’t respond as she looked around, they were walking in the streets of Canterlot, many ponies were passing by, but Velvet didn’t pay attention to any of them, she was looking for a toy shop, Light bought her this doll, Smarty Pants, but she was going to buy her the best doll in all Equestria, Twilight will be so happy that she’ll forget about Princess Celestia, the Princess never bought anything for Twilight after all. After that, she’ll take Twilight to the amusement parc.
The only problem is the time, it’s pretty late, and it seems that Princess Celestia is lowering the sun right now. Velvet shook her head, it doesn’t matter, she’ll make this night, Twilight’s happier night ever!
“Here is the shop!” Velvet exclaimed when she suddenly saw the shop she was searching for. “Come Twilight, I’ll buy you whatever you want!” Velvet said as she entered in the big store.
Twilight smiled and nodded as she followed her mother.
Velvet looked around, there were many toys here, but she saw nothing interesting, she walked through the shelves.
“Do you see something you want Twilight?” Velvet asked
“No, and I am hungry, when are we going home?” Twilight said
“Soon.” Velvet simply answered, she gritted her teeth in annoyance, what kind of store was that?
However, she finally saw it, it was a doll, but not any doll, it was a princess doll, a legendary edition, it had so many features that a filly will have difficulties to use them all! She smiled hysterically, Twilight will be so happy, she slowly walked to the doll, it was like seven meters ahead, but she had all the time she wanted, no?
“Oh, did you see something you want, Miss Smarty Pants?” Twilight asked her doll as she stopped in her track, she looked at the shelves.
Velvet gasped, when she approached, she saw that there was only one doll left! And she knew what happens in these moments, she began running, she looked at her right and saw another mare running to the doll, she looked at her left and there were two other mares. She took a fierce look.
“Get out of my way!” She shouted as she bumped into the mare at her right, the mare collided with the shelves and fell on the ground. “Two left!”
Velvet shot a magic bolt at the legs of one of the mares, she rolled on the ground and bumped into another customer who was passing by, the remaining mare looked terrified as Velvet grinned evilly, the mare arrived at the doll and was about to take it with her teeth, but Velvet caught by her tail and threw her away, the mare cried as she fell in the frozen food section.
Velvet smiled happily as she took the doll with her magic, she turned around and saw Twilight looking at the shelves.
“Twilight! Look what I got, want me to buy it?!” Velvet asked ecstatically as she approached her daughter, Twilight turned around and looked at her, she didn’t seem excited at all.
“I like it mom, but I’ve already have that doll.” Twilight said, Velvet took a shocked look.
“What!? But… but… who bought it!? Your father?! Maybe Shining or Cadance!?” Velvet asked, Twilight shook her head.
“It was Princess Celestia, she gave it to me the first day she taught me.” Twilight responded, Velvet had her mouth agape.
“W… well… that’s good… Princess Celestia is really… generous.” Velvet stuttered as her eye was twitching. “I think, we’ll go to the amusement park, I’ll buy an ice cream, okay?” Velvet said as she threw the doll away.
“Yay! I love ice cream!” Twilight exclaimed happily.
“Celestia anticipated everything! She knew I’ll buy that doll, so she bought it first, I should have known, she is a princess after all!” Velvet thought

“We’re here.” Velvet said as she stopped in front of the amusement park’s entrance, the sun was completely lowered now, and she didn’t do anything special for Twilight, this is her last chance.
“Well, what do you want to do Twilight?” Velvet asked as they entered, she looked at her wallet and gasped, she didn’t take much money, so they won’t even be able to do much anyway, she sighed in desperation.
“Oh, I would love to try the ride dedicated to Princess Celestia!” Twilight exclaimed, Velvet sighed, of course, even now, talking about Celestia.
“If that’s what you want, but first I’ll buy you an ice cream.” Velvet said as she went to the ice-cream seller.
“Mis Smarty Pants wants chocolate ice cream!” Twilight exclaimed, Velvet smiled and waited for Twilight’s decision. “I want a Princess Celestia Special!”
Velvet spread her eyes, she rubbed them and groaned, Twilight kept smiling.
“I’ll take you one Princess Celestia Special.” Velvet said darkly, the ice-cream seller looked scared and give her a rainbow-colored ice-cream. “Here.” Velvet said as she gave it to Twilight. “As for me, I’ll take…”
“That ice-cream is delicious! I should thank mom later!Right Miss Smarty Pants?” Twilight asked her doll as she was licking her ice-cream, suddenly, somebody bumped into her, Twilight gasped as she fell on the ground, Smarty Pants fell beside her, as for the ice-cream.
“Hey! Pay attention to your surroundings foal!” A white stallion shouted angrily as he looked at the ice-cream on his foreleg.
“But, you bumped into me.” Twilight said quietly holding Smarty Pants close to her.
“What did you say? Who do you think you are, you bumped into me, you spoiled brat!” He shouted as Twilight was starting to cry, some ponies turned around, looking at this scene. “Yeah, that’s right, cry, that won’t make your life easier, brat!”
“What is going on here!?” A voice shouted, everybody turned around and saw Velvet, angry, walking to Twilight to see if she was okay, she gritted her teeth. “Now mister, I hope you have a good explanation for this!” Velvet yelled as she looked at the white stallion.
“Well, this stupid brat bumped into me, her ice-cream is…” He started but before he could finish he received a slap on the right cheek. “Did… did you just slap me?!”
Velvet slapped him again and jumped on him, continuously hitting him, he even lost some teeth, everybody around gasped, Twilight stopped crying and looked at her mother.
“Who are you to make my baby cry!? I wanted that moment with me to be her happiest memory! AND IT WAS ALREADY COMPLETELY RUINED, AND NOW YOU MADE IT WORST!” Velvet shouted like a monster.
“Stop… pfease... sftop… I’m sforry, so sforry.” The white stallion said as he cried, he couldn’t even talk properly because of his missing teeth. Velvet looked into his eyes.
“Never make Twilight cry again, or I’ll send you to the deepest pit of hell.” Velvet said scarily, the stallion nodded quickly, scared to death. Velvet stood up and turned around.
“Mom!” Twilight yelled as she ran to hug her mother, Velvet smiled and hugged her back. “You were awesome, even Miss Smarty Pants was impressed, you are the best mom ever!” She exclaimed, Velvet smiled and held back a tear.
“I think it’s better if we go home, I’m sure you’ll need some rest.” Velvet said, Twilight nodded, Twilight took Miss Smarty Pants, put her on her back and the three went in the direction of their house, the ponies moved away, letting them pass.
The ice-cream seller looked at the white stallion.
“Are you okay mister?”
“She was cho angry, that when I’fe looked into her eyech, I’fe saw a new dimenchion, full of billionch of souls trapped in an endlech shuferring awaiting to be purged and to go to hell where demonsh of all kind could toture them for all eternity.” The white stallion answered in fear.
“So, do you want me to get you to the hospital?”
“What is a hospital?”
“Ouch, she must have hit you really hard on the head.”
