The light of the Traveller

I woke up in in a bed. I thought I just had dreamed, but then noticed that it wasn't mine.

As I looked around in the room, I noticed a distinct lack of metal and concrete, which the Tower was build of. The walls were made out of crystal.

I sat up in the bed and looked another time around in the room. As I sat up I noticed an extreme pain in my neck.

“Just how hard did I hit the ground. And where the hell am I?” I asked myself.

I noticed a bed table, with my Shadowclaw laying on it, and my Auto Rifle leaning on it.

“Where is my Gjallarhorn, that thing is exotic!”

I looked around in the room and found it laying under my bed.

I  stood up and analysed the situation. My ghost and I are cut off from the light and we're stuck god knows where.

I heard voices from outside of the room.
“Fluttershy, are you sure that you can handle this?” a feminine voice asked.

“Yes I am sure that I can handle him. Animals are my specialty, don't forget that Twilight.” another feminine voice answered.

Did that thing just called me an animal?

I heard steps, not footsteps but a clocking similar to a horse.

I grabbed my Shadowclaw and laid down in the bed, pretending to sleep, the SMG hidden under my back.

I closed both my eyes only half, to see what's going on.

A yellow horse with wings and a long pink mane and tail entered the room, and gave me a friendly look.

As probably she stepped near the bed she laid something on the table, as I looked another time I noticed it was my helmet.

“Don't worry, you will be okay in no time.” she said, laying on hoof on my chest.

“Here goes nothing.” I said in my thoughts.

I jumped out of the bed and grabbed her, placing the barrel of the Shadowclaw on her head.

She began to scream like shit.

“I'm sorry.” I said, giving her a punch with the magazine holder of the weapon.

As I felt her body relax, knowing she was knocked out, I laid her carefully on the ground.

“I have to get out of here.”

I put on my helmet and took the remaining weapons. I opened the loader of the launcher, only to find on remaining cartridge in it. I looked at the magazine screen of the AR.

Empty.

At last I took out the magazine of the Shadowclaw.

23 bullets remaining.

“Wow, that's great.” I said to myself.

I looked out of the window on a free patch of grass.

“That has to be about twenty meters and I have no abilities.”

I looked a few moments at the door before I opened it.

I looked into a hallway of crystal. Luckily it was empty. I ran down the hallway and took a staircase down to the ground.

I heard voices and stopped at the next corner. I peaked around it, just to find a sort of meeting room and six more of the ponies.

After a few seconds the yellow one came running in the room, probably informing the others about me missing. At the same moment the cyan one spotted me. All of them began to chase after me, the cyan and a purple one flying while the rest ran.

I also began to run and tried to shake them off in the hallways. Finally they split up. After a few more distraction maneuvers I finally shook them off.

I came to the room from the beginning, and stopped to take a short break. A few seconds later I noticed that it was a big mistake.

The room had six entrances, and now each entrance was blocked by one of the ponies.

I raised the Gjallarhorn and took a shot at the white unicorn. The rocket got simply vaporised  by a spell from the unicorn. I dropped the launcher, knowing that I can't do anything to get out of this situation. I kneeled down and took my hands behind my head.

I destroyed the heart of the black garden, killed Crota and his father Oryx, and destroyed a fallen god called Aksis. But now I got defeated by freaking ponies.

All ponies created an unbreakable circle around me. I closed my eyes to not have to see the inevitable. I would die, but this time forever.

Guardian the light is coming back. Use your abilities.”

I felt the light return in my body. I pressed a button on my helmet to restart it. With that the speakers went of, so I couldn't hear what the ponies were talking about.

Ultimate charged.” the helmet showed.

Also the helmet activated completely, making speakers and HUD available.

“Oh now it's a party.” I said, the pink one giving me a suspicious look.

I stood up and made a quick short teleport upwards and threw a cluster charge. The charge went of at impact, blinding and stunning all ponies in the room.

As the smoke disbanded, I noticed that I was caught in a magenta bubble of something.

“Release me at instant!” I yelled at the ponies.

“Why should I? You attacked us!” the purple one yelled back.

“I don't belong here. My friends are dying out there for something important!” I remembered the fighting at the Tower.

The angry look on the ponies faces softened. The orange one gave a signal to form around. As they were talking, I pulled out my Ghost: “I have a plan, but you have to trust me.”

I hate when you say that Sky.” the Ghost complained.

I switched the second perk of the SMG to ricochet rounds, and fired the complete magazine at the wall of the bubble, killing myself with it.

As the ponies looked up, frightened by my dead body, the purple one released me from the bubble. As I hit the ground, my Ghost instantly revived me.

“Surprise!” I said, throwing a Nova Bomb directly under me.

As the ponies were distracted I began to run, but got stopped by a spell from the purple unicorn.

The next thing I could remember was my a multitude of voices.

Guardian, wake up Guardian!” I heard my Ghost saying.

“He's okay, is he?”, I heard the yellow one ask.

He has died about 3000 times. So it's normal for him to die and get revived.” my Ghost said with an amused undertone.

I stood up, dusting myself off.

“You are sure he will not attack us another time?” the cyan pony asked the purple one.

I stepped near the cyan one and deactivated my visor: “Depends on how you treat me.”

The cyan one shrugged and moved a few steps back.

I reactivated the visor of my helmet, making my HUD ready again.

“This is an award situation isn't it?” I asked in the round.

“I understand your situation Sky, but why attacking us?”, the purple one asked.

“When you're a Guardian of the light, every new race can be an enemy.” I sighed, “I speak from experience.”

“Also, how do you know my name?” I asked them.

All ponies looked at my Ghost.

“How much did you told them?” I asked my Ghost, giving him a angry look.

About.” he made a short pause, “Everything.”

“So then you know who I am.” I asked in the round.

“Yes we do. Also I would like to introduce myself and my friends.” the purple one answered,” I am Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship.”

“Howdy there, I'm Applejack.” the pony took off her hat.

“I'm Pinkie Pie.” the pink pony jumped up and down.

“I'm Rarity, pleasure to meet you.” she looked at the helmet on my head.

“Name's Rainbow Dash.” the cyan Pegasus landed on the ground.

The yellow one said nothing.

Twilight gave the pony a look I couldn't decipher.

After a few seconds the Pegasus said: “I...I'm Fluttershy.”

Twilight smiled: “You have to tell me everything about your species.”

She sat down on a chair at a table made out of crystal, as well as the other ponies.

I placed my Zarinea-D on a free spot on the table.

“First off you need to know what a Guardian is.” I  sat down on the table “A Guardian is revived from the dead by a Ghost which has chosen to travel them. We Guardians are divided into three classes.”

“I'm a Warlock. We have our magic to create giant black holes, control storms of arc energy or forge a blade of solar energy.” I created a small Nova Bomb to show my abilities.

“Also there are the Hunters, who have their agility and cleverness, and the Titans who simply have their strength and stubbornness.” I gave a short laugh.

All ponies were interested now.

“What were you before you got reborn?” Twilight asked.

“I was a soldier like now, only without light. I was protecting the last few colony ships. We got ambushed by a fallen ketch. 2.000.0000 people died because we failed.” a tear ran down my face and got stopped by the edge of my helmet.

“I never heard such a tragic past. Not even Starlight comes near that.” Twilight place a hoof on my hand.

“Starlight?”

“Oh I forgot to tell you. She's also one of our friends. She'll be back in about an hour.” Twilight said, writing something on a scroll.

“Spike! Where are you Spike!” she called for someone

A purple dragon enter the room. Twilight gave him the scroll and he literally burned it.

“What did you do?”

“She just sent a letter to Princess Celestia.” Rainbow Dash said, placing a hoof on her face.

I tried to answer but my Ghost cut me off.

Incoming emergency call from Commander Zavala.”

“Send it through.” I said, jump from the table. ‘How can they still contact me?’

The Ghost projected a hologram of Zavala into the room.

Last call for all remaining Guardians out there. The Tower has completely fallen, we're gathering around on the Farm located in the EDZ.”

The message ended.

“Call in my ship, we have to help them.” I said, making me ready for combat.

First off: Our ship got destroyed. Second: There is no Guardian link in the next two hundred systems.” the Ghost said.

“What do you mean?” I asked the Ghost, almost dropping the Gjallarhorn a second time.

That means we're stuck. Or you can build a system which can communicate over two hundred systems!” the Ghost almost yelled.

“Can you scan the area around us? Maybe you find something what could help us.” I asked the Ghost.

The Ghost opened up and scanned

After a few seconds he said:”I found nothing special, except a chest which radiates an extreme cold.” the Ghost answered, “it's located in the basement of this building.”

“Can I maybe see that chest?” I  asked Twilight.

“Sure.” Twilight answered and lead us down to the basement.

The chest was located in a dark corner. The Ghost made light for us all.

The Chest was a simple iron chest covered in ice.

I used a scatter grenade to break it open.

I grabbed inside and pulled out a sort of a rifle, covered in snow.

I washed away the snow and a name engraved into the weapon's frame came to light.

Coldheart.

“Wow, only ten copies of this trace rifle exist! Where did you find this crate?” I inspected the rifle.

“I found it out in the desert.” Rainbow answered.

I reached another time in it and pulled out an arc SMG know under the name of Riskrunner.

“Also only ten copies of this were made. Probably some scavengers left it out here, don't ask me how they got so far out.” I said inspecting the new SMG.

Maybe there is still hope Guardian.” the Ghost said, scanning the chest.

“Maybe.” I holstered both weapons, Zarinea in my hand, Shadowclaw and Gjallarhorn dematererialized by my Ghost.

We turned back to the meeting room where now a unicorn waited for us.

She shrugged as she saw me.

“Don't worry, he's friendly, if you let out the part where he tried to kill us.” Twilight said, giving me a look I couldn't order in.

Starlight first looked at the Assault Rifle in my hands, then at the holstered SMG, and last at the Trace Rifle on my back.

“Are you sure that you can trust him, because he looks...how you say it... off world.” Starlight asked after a few seconds.

“Yes he sure is.” Fluttershy stood next to me. I didn't expect her to answer that question.

“So you too had a dark past?” I asked.

Starlight looked first at me then at Twilight.

“I took over a village and took away their cutie marks because my only friend got his and left for magic school.” she said.

The room went silent for a few seconds.

“What are cutie marks?” I asked.

Everypony looked at me.

“Cutie Marks show the special talent of somepony. Fluttershy’s for example shows three butterflies, because she's good with animals.” Twilight explained, “Is the thunderbolt on your helmet not your cutie mark?”

“No. It's a simple marking. This one is for my fireteam, we were called Thunderfire. In there are two others as well.” I explained, “Mine shows a thunderbolt, because I'm the leader.”

“I would like to see your abilitys.” Rainbow said excited.

“Maybe tomorrow when we're outside” I answered, ”Do you maybe have a room where I can rest for now?”

“Of course.” Twilight lead me to a room, probably built for bigger races like humans.

I sat down on the bed.

They aren't that bad. Hmm?” my Ghost asked.

“Yeah, but we have to get back to earth.”
