//------------------------------// // Rainbow comes over and... // Story: Fluttershy's new experience // by Wing Dancer //------------------------------// Fluttershy was looking nervously around her cottage, again going over all the things she has prepared for the night. All her little animals friends fed and tucked in their beds? Check. Candles, not too fragrant and not too sweet? Check. Comfortable pillows on the bed? They could be a bit more fluffy, but they will pass. Hopefully. Check? The butter yellow pony yelped as she heard a firm knock on her door. Her heart started pounding excitedly and her throat got squeezed with emotion. She tried to say “Come in”, but the words turned out to be too quiet even for herself to hear. “Anyone in there?” sounded from the other side. The doors finally swung open, revealing a blue mare with a rainbow colored mane. “Hiya Flutters! Why didn’t ya answer the- Ooooh.” Rainbow Dash looked in awe at the tidy home, atmospheric lighting and tons of pillows on the bed. “You’ve really outdone yourself girl!” The mare slowly entered the cottage, smiling at her shaking friend. Fluttershy blushed heavily, muttering something inaudibly. “Come on, there’s lots I got to show ya!” said Rainbow, reaching for the saddlebags she brought along. “So, you say you’ve never done this before with anypony else? That makes me your first, right?” Beating the odds, the yellow mare managed to turn an ever deeper shade of red. “Uhum,” she squeaked, shuffling her hooves. “C’mon, don’t be so tense. It’ll be fun, trust me. I’ve done it hundreds of times, with almost everypony I know! Hay, if Twilight knew I was here doing it with you instead of her, she'd have a fit or something!” “Umm, are you sure it’s alright then?” whispered the timid pegasus, watching as Dash procured a long, white object from her saddle. She could not help but shiver at the thought of playing with it. “Relax, I told her I’d be busy with a night shift of weather duty. Nopony will know better, right?” The blue mare put a hoof around her friend who tensed up a little. “Oh, Fluttershy, just try and relax, will you? It’s no big deal, mares – and even colts – do it all the time! And I’m here, right? Your best friend Rainbow Dash? I’ll show you all the ropes and tricks. Trust me, we’ll have a blast together!” A bit encouraged by her mare friend’s words, Fluttershy hopped onto the bed, grabbing as many pillows as she could. “Umm, what are you doing?” asked Rainbow, fiddling with the elongated object. “You aren’t expecting to be doing it like that, are you? I mean, you could, but you’d have to be me.” Dash raised her head with superiority “I can do it in any position – standing, lying down, hay, did it once upside down! My head hurt afterwards, but it was worth it!” “Umm… Okay…” said the blushing pegasus, scrambling down from the bed. Dash positioned herself behind Fluttershy and made her stand on her hind legs. “Okay, now hold this.” She said, handing over the toy. It was hard to the touch and had some marks of being used, especially at the base. “Easy now. There’s no need to rush. Just hold it like this. Yea, more firmly, don’t be afraid, it won’t bite.” Rainbow chuckled, guiding her friend’s hooves. Fluttershy was very nervous, but she was slowly starting to get a feel for the activity. “Up and down, up and down, now side to side, side to side,” she repeated after Dash. “Now… Thrust!” “Eep!” squeaked Fluttershy, dropping the toy to the ground. It was vibrating vigorously, moving about slightly. “Haha, whoops!” laughed the colorful Pegasus, picking up the flailing object. “It happens, don’t worry. Remember, hold it more firmly. Also, work on your wrist movement. You need to be more decisive! Now try faster!” The two mares froze as a knocking was heard at the door. “Fluttershy, you in there? I have a question I need to ask.” That was the voice of Twilight Sparkle. As if struck by lightning, Rainbow Dash zoomed to the door to close it shut, but it was too late. Twilight invited herself in, half formed words freezing on her mouth. She saw Fluttershy standing on her hind legs and Rainbow Dash with… “How could you!” yelled the unicorn, tears building up in her eyes “You told me you were on weather duty! Why did you lie to me?! Aren’t you the element of Loyalty?! Where is it if you’re playing with somepony else! I thought we had something special. I hate you!” “Wait, this is not what you think!” yelled Rainbow to her running away friend. “I was just showing Fluttershy the ropes! She’s never done this before! Twi, wait up!...” The cries and apologies faded away into the night, leaving Fluttershy alone in her cottage. The pony felt bad about the whole situation – she didn’t want to be a bother and now it seems she became a splinter of sorts that hurt Twilight’s feelings. Bad thoughts aside, she really did enjoy her time with Rainbow. Too bad they didn’t get to the part when they would both get to play at the same time. Oh well… She wasn’t sleepy anyway and she could still have some fun, right? In the frame of the door lay the left behind toy. Fluttershy picked the item up with her mouth and trotted towards the bed. “If Rainbow can do it, so can I!” she said in an upbeat tone, throwing herself on the pillows. She pressed the “START” button on the toy. The Wee(tm) console reacted, unpausing the game Rainbow was showing to her – “Daring Do and the Golden Goblet”. Fluttershy chose to start a new game (noting a previous save made by somepony named RDxTS) and began to wildly wave the controller around. Her in-game avatar waved her sword and blocked with a shield, mowing through waves of creepy monsters. Heh, it really was hard when you were lying.
