//------------------------------// // Rule # 11 // Story: The Code of the Villains // by Kaliann25 //------------------------------// Rule # 11: When a villain haves to protect someone, it must be done from the shadows Flurry was impatient, Discord had just told her that her challenge had been accepted; and now she had an appointment at a casino. The problem was that she had to wait two entire weeks, and couldn’t sleep because of the excitement. All she wanted now was to be face to face with her new idol, the paladin of injustice Mister Z. She also had to fight Dolly, but Flurry didn’t mind her that much. “Soon, very soon! But also, why it had to be in two weeks?” sighed Flurry dreamily. Her night lamp turned into a tiny version of Discord. “Don’t you see you’re falling straight to his trap?” asked the God of Chaos. “He’s playing with your patience so you won’t be in shape when you face him. One of the oldest tricks of the comics” Flurry smiled widely. “Oh, you’re right! But is not an old trick, it’s a classic! Oh god, I’m so dumb, hahahahaha!” “And why do you find it funny, your little Highness?” asked Discord sighing. “Because I’m officially a comic book heroine! You said it yourself, I fell for a cliché and I didn’t even realized! But now that you noticed I can relax and with for the right moment. When we finally met, he’ll think I feel for his trick but I’ll be ready. So now I’m going to relax and let the idiot think what he wants” “Just don’t forget they are no normal villains for Celestia’s sake” warned Discord. “I know, that’s why I’m still training. Body, mind and soul. And speaking of that, I’ll study my comic collection to see if I find another of Z’s tricks. Soon enough he’ll see the true power of Captain Awesome!” Discord preferred not to say anything, but he already pictured the scene between the fan-girl and her idol. But unlike what Flurry and Discord thought, the encounter was scheduled in two weeks not because of a stupid trap. It was because Luminositè had plans with her mère. They were checking on Rarity’s boutique in ManeHattan. Rarity had changed a lot on the last years. Now she didn’t focused that much on her work, as she used to, but into her beloved ones. Especially her little girl. It was hard to be a single mom. That’s why whenever Rarity had to work outside the cities, she did her best to take Lumi with her. Luminositè was adopted, it all started with a Friendship Mission. The Cutie Mark Rarity was sent to a faraway city, to deal with some problem in an orphanage. Right at the time a year and a half filly was brought. The baby had just been rescued from her abusive parents, who broke her several bones. Also her entire body was covered with bruises. Rarity’s heart broke at seeing the foal’s conditions and adopted her immediately. Of course the orphanage’s personnel warned her that children who came from problematic homes could develop antisocial tendencies. But Rarity’s decision was made. And with the pass of the years, Rarity could say that her perseverance and love paid off. Lumi was the perfect little girl, a miniature version of Rarity. She enjoyed to make miniature dresses for her dollies, and also had inherited most of Rarity’s lady-like mannerisms. They were so alike, that, for most of the ponies, Lumi was Rarity’s biological daughter. And whenever they were in ManeHattan, they always enjoyed themselves between shopping, Brodtrott shows, and delicious food. And also the city had a small benefit that Rarity ignored. Right on that moment mother and daughter were on the backstage preparing for a fashion show, along with CoCo. They were about to present Rarity’s latest line to the public, but most for their disgrace, a pony who they really dislike was also on that show. Little did CoCo and Rarity knew that there was nothing to fear with Lumi there. “I saw Miss Polomare near our stand, so we must stay alert” warned CoCo. “We must be careful” Rarity nodded thoughtful, but she was calmed. Suri Polomare haven’t messed with her in a while. Anyway, soon enough she realized she had to go to confirm her turn, along with CoCo. “Oh dear, look at the time!” said Rarity worried. “Luminositè, you are in charge of my dresses. Do not let anyopony to approach, okay?” The girl smiled happily and made a small bow. “You can count on me, mère” Rarity smiled to her daughter and ran with CoCo, leaving Lumi calmly sewing little dresses for her dollies. Not her Dolly’s dollies, just her normal dollies. Then she saw at a dark corner. “You know, Suri? I have great news” the girl said with a sweet tone. Sweet but cruel. Suri came to light. She was sweating and trembling all over, she tried to seem calmed but she couldn’t. Just couldn’t. This girl was scary as hell. “Did your mother finally realized you’re a sociopath?” asked Suri as she gulped. “Of course not! You know our kind is expert in faking emotions” Terror was more than visible in Suri’s eyes. She was one of the two ponies who knew Luminositè’s true personality. Twisted and cruel. The second was her best friend, of course. But unlike Suri, Bright was like her, so he never feared her. Suri’s nightmare began the last time she tried to steal a design from Rarity. Just as this time, Rarity put the girl in charge of watching her dresses. Suri thought she could easily overpower the girl, but she was wrong. She remembered it very well. “That are the clothes that mère made! Put your hooves away!” cried the little girl. Suri pushed the seven-year-old Lumi away. “Stay away, you know nothing of the fashion business!” And when the fashionista thought it was over, the girl aimed a hoof to her, and the girl’s scarf wrapped against Suri as it was a snake. Then it tightened, so strongly that Suri’s bones broke instantly. “You broke something, I wasn’t intending this” said Lumi fascinated of what she had done. “Apparently I have to re-caliber best mon ècharpe’s strength. But you wanted to harm mère, so you deserve to be punished” Suri Polomare was about to say something, but an end of the scarf introduced into her mouth to silence her. Then the thing released an electric charge so powerful, that Suri swore that she was burning inside-out. “You can tell anypony you want. A little girl electrocuted you with an ècharpe. Who would believe you anyway?” said the girl in a cold tone. The scarf released the fashionista, and she landed on her now broken hooves much to Lumi’s delight. Oh, how much she loved to cause pain, but she had to restrain the ‘urges’ for the sake of her mère. From that day, Luminositè turned into Suri’s stuff of nightmares. But going back to the present, Lumi was ‘kindly’ smiling to her. “You know what my news are? I want a Nutella ice cream with strawberry topping. And I know you’ll buy it for me, if you want me to ignore the fact you were spying on me” Polomare shivered and smiled to her. “Of course! But I swear I didn’t came to spy on you or your mom. I solemnly swear!” Luminositè nodded. “Je sais. I know you’re not stupid or a masochist. You know all too well what I would do to you if you try to harm my mère again” Suri nodded and approached a newspaper to Luminositè. VILLAINS TERRIFY CANTERLOT “You’re the one with the red scarf. No? I would recognize the damn thing anywhere” Lumi grinned. “Wi, me and my friend Monseur Z have a very particular hobby. It helps me to control the ‘urges’ better than you…” Suri shivered. “I just wanted to check it. I was here when I saw your new friend dressed in white playing hero” Luminositè sighed. “Captain Awesome is an idiot who wants to play with us. But he’ll fail miserably as the others” Suri frowned. “I’m curious, how did you resisted an attack from Celestia herself?” “Professional secret” “Of course! Now if you excuse me I’ll go for an ice cream” And she ran before Luminositè changed her mind about not hurting her.
