Unlucky number: The Plan

"Okay," Clover muttered, glancing at her book and closing it. "Listen to the plan: First we-"
"Are you getting your plan from a history book?" choked Kimono.
Clover blushed. "I'm- err- getting the idea from a famous pony from history."
Celestia raised an eyebrow. "The Life and Death of Ponyland? I've never heard of it. Ponyland hasn't died yet, and I doubt it ever will!"
"It's about- err- the life of- err- Raripie-AJ-Shydash Ponyland, the pony who founded ponyland."
"She never existed, you just made her up then!"
Luna rolled her eyes. "Tia, don't be such a nerd! Nopony cares!"
"But- logic- history-"
"What about it?"
Celestia groaned. "So," asked Sparkleworks. "What were you saying?"
"Alright," answered Clover. "First we'll sneak into Unicornia in the middle of the night. Then- Kimono, Sparkleworks- you two get to the front of the castle and make as much noise as possible. If you get captured then just do as the guards say, we'll get you. Celestia, Luna- you and I will climb in through the window and find our way to their sleeping quarters.
"Then I use my magic to pick the locks and wake everypony up. We all rush them out and meet my friend from there who's working from the inside. Then we grab some stuff that we need to grab and gallop for it. Understood?"
"That," muttered Kimono. "is the stupidest idea I've ever heard."
"Exactly!" yelled Luna. "And according to every book and play ever, stupid plans are garenteed to work, and all other plans are garenteed to end with everything going wrong!"
Kimono rolled her eyes. "Luna, this is real life. If this was a fanfiction written by a twelve-year-old girl, then Clover would reveal an incredibly obvious secret as soon as I finish this sentence."

Alright. I should be out of sight now.
I used my magic to untie the rope around my neck and levitate the cloak above my head, trying without success to wring the water out of it without just getting it even more wet from the rain and taking care to stretch out my wings, ignoring Spike's complaints from my back. "Who do you think the letter was talking about?" he asked.
"I'm not sure," was all I said out loud, but I was already mentally checking off options. They have to be a Unicorn to use the time travel magic. Or Alicorn? No, Celestia and Luna are busy in Equestria and Cadance is taking care of the Crystal Empire, and Flurry Heart is way too young. Wait, no, they could stay here for years and be back in five minutes.
Still not too likely though. This is pretty dangerous, and the Crystal Empire can't afford to lose Cadance. Flurry's too young and the sisters might meet themselves. And there is nothing more awkward then having your future self visit you, then spending ages thinking about them before going back in time and meetng your past self.
Rarity doesn't know the spell. Would Celestia be able to teach her? Maybe. I doubt it, though. Starlight Glimmer? I'm not sure. Shining Armour? Considering how the stallions are being treated now, he'd end up just as a meaningless guard. Maybe-
"Wow, Spike looks weird when he's not a dog!"
I awkwardly turned, seeing her standing waist-deep in water. "Sunset Shimmer!" I yelled. "I didn't expect you!"
"Well," she explained. "I figured I should get finished with my nonsense bucketlist, since I started by accident."
She used her magic to summon a scroll covered in writing. I stared. "Threesome with two ponies/people that are actually the same pony/person? Travel back several centuries to see someone's grandmother who's still alive?" I squinted, and saw the one item that was crossed off. "Threesome with yourself?"
"Yes, well, I found my human counterpart and I'm sexy with a ponytail...."
"What?" I asked. "Oh, forget it. Have you got a fake name?"
"Err...." she mumbled.
"Come on, tell us! Spike here is 'Thorn' and I'm Clover, what about you? Did Celestia not give you one?"
She rolled her eyes and muttered something. "Eh?" I asked. "I can't hear you!"
She sighed. "Bacon Hair."
I couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"So," she asked. "Is the plan still on?"
I nodded, remembering the plan. "Are you sure you're ready?"
"Are you?" she asked in response.
I nodded. I'm ready. I'm the only Alicorn around for miles. I have stronger magic than any other at this time. I can do it.
Because I am Twilight Sparkle.
