12 years ago, Location: Starswirl Elementary School


“It was on this day that I found out how cruel the world really is.”

“Class, I have sad news. It would seem our class pet Bugs Bunny died yesterday.” Ms.Cheerilee said in front of her class of second graders who now had sad looks on their faces. “Apparently, he ate something he shouldn’t have. I need anyone right now to tell me if they know anything about this.” She said in a slightly stern tone. The kids all looked around at one another and three girls were looking pretty guilty.

One of the girls had purple hair and sapphire blue eyes, the second girl had hair that looked like pink cotton candy and light blue eyes and the third girl had rainbow colored hair and magenta colored eyes. Just then a boy with white skin and blond hair raised his hand.

“I think I know what happened.” He said in a smug tone.

“Really Blueblood, can you explain?” Cheerilee asked. The boy now known as Blueblood nodded and pointed to the three guilty looking girls.

“I saw those three girls hovering over the rabbit cage yesterday before we left to go home.” He said. The three girls began to sweat and looked to miss Cheerilee who crossed her arms.

“Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Rarity, Is there something you’d like to tell us?” She asked. The three girls all looked at each other and then the girls named Rarity stood up.

“Yes it’s true that we were looking at the bunny, but we weren’t the ones who fed him.” She said looking down.

“Then you know who it was?” Cheerilee asked. Rarity nodded.

“Alright, tell us who.” She said. Pinkie and Rainbow both felt like running out of the classroom, but that would only prove that they were guilty. Rarity then took a deep breath and pointed to the left side of the room. Her finger landed on a young girl with gray skin, blond hair and golden eyes that were… a bit weird looking.

“It was Ditzy.” Rarity said. The girl now known as Ditzy gasped as she found herself being used as a scapegoat.

“W..w..what, no I didn’t-” “Don’t try and lie your way out of this freak!” Rainbow said joining in.

“I didn’t do-” “We saw you, why would you feed him something that wasn’t good for him.” Pinkie asked cutting Ditzy off. Ditzy was at a loss for words, all three girls were ganging up on her for something she didn’t do.

“This doesn’t surprise me, Derpy is kinda clumsy.” Blueblood said.

“Kinda, Derpy is mega clumsy.” Another boy said.

“Yea and what’s up with her eyes, were you dropped on the head as a baby Derpy?” A girl said snickering. Ditzy hated that name with a passion.

“My name’s not Derpy!” She yelled.

“Tell that to your eyes, they’re not helping you.” Blueblood said before he as well as the rest of the class  with the exception of Pinkie, Rarity, and Rainbow all started laughing. Ditzy felt a stream of tears fall from her face and put both hands on her head.

“That’s enough, Blueblood I’ll be telling your mother about this and Ditzy I’d like to see you after class.” Cheerilee said in a demanding tone. Ditzy looked at her teacher with wide eye.

“But..but..I-” “Do I make myself clear?” Cheerilee said narrowing her eyes. Ditzy knew she the conversation was over, so she nodded and put her head down. Rarity, Rainbow and Pinkie all saw this and immediately felt terrible, but the damage was already done and they couldn’t turn back now.
“How come I’m in trouble, she’s the one that made the rabbit die.” Blueblood said. Ditzy heard this and flinched.

“One more word Blueblood!” Cheerilee said glaring at the boy. Blueblood just crossed his arms and pouted. Ditzy just kept her head down so no one could see her crying.

“Why….why did they do this?”


Present day


Ditzy Doo slowly opened her eyes waking up from the same dream she’d always had. “Can I just have a normal dream, I hate remembering the day.” She said to herself. She then felt a few tears stream down her face. “Great, starting off the new year with tears.

“Ditzy, time to wake up. You don’t want to be late on your first day!” Ditzy’s mom said from downstairs.

“Yea sure.” Ditzy said rolling her eyes and getting out of her bed. She then walked out of her room and into the bathroom. Ditzy looked at herself in the mirror and she sighed. “Mirror mirror on the wall, tell me who is the loneliest of all?” Ditzy didn't know why, but she always asked that question when she woke up. She then proceeded to remove her pajamas and get into the shower.

“Senior year…..finally! I can leave that hellhole in just a few months.” Ditzy thought before grabbing a washcloth and washing herself off.

After about twenty minutes, she got out of the shower, wrapped a towel around herself and walked to her room. Ditzy walked over to her closet and looked for something to wear.

“It’s just school so I should even try to look good.” She said pulling out a sky blue short sleeve sweater, a green skirt and and pair of sky blue high-heeled boots. “This will work.” Ditzy said closing her closet and getting dressed. After she got dressed, she grabbed her backpack and  headed downstairs to greet her mother.

“Morning.” Ditzy said in a bored tone. She waited for an answer, but the only thing she heard was the sound of her cat Marshmallow snoring. Ditzy waked into the dining room and saw a plate filled with eggs, bacon and pancakes covered in plastic wrap with a note on top of them.


Ditzy, sorry I can’t see you off this morning. I was called into the hospital early, don’t forget to take out the trash and fill Marshmallows bowl before you leave. I also packed you a lunch,it’s in the kitchen. Have I good day and I’ll see you tonight, I love you sweetie. Mom. XOXO


Ditzy put the note down and sighed. “It’s not easy being a doctor is it mom?” She thought. Ditzy then unwrapped the food and began to eat. “At least it’s still warm.” She said before taking a bite out of her pancake. She then felt something rubbing against her leg which caused her to jump a bit. She looked down to see her Marshmallow nuzzling her leg.

“Oh hey, you must be hungry.” Ditzy said getting up from the table and walking into the kitchen with Marshmallow following behind. She then grabbed a can of cat food from the cabinet and put it in Marshmallows bowl. “There you go.” She said before walking out of the kitchen. She then spotted the lunch her mother packed for her and grabbed it.

“I wonder what she- MUFFINS!” Ditzy said excitedly causing Marshmallow to jump onto the kitchen counter. “And they’re chocolate chip, she knows me so well.” She said with a smile. Ditzy then put her lunch in her bag and put it on her back. She then grabbed her phone and earphones and walked out of her house. “Ok, music time.” Ditzy said before putting her earphones in and putting on her favorite song.

As she was walking down the street, Ditzy passed by a few girls that went to her school and she noticed they were staring and laughing at her. “Just endure it Ditzy, just endure it.” She thought as she kept walking. She then turned the corner of the street, she saw her school in the distance and he sighed.

“Alright let’s get the year over with.” She said. Ditzy had finally made it to the school entrance and she wasn’t all that happy about it obviously.

“Welcome back into ‘Hell’.”
