//------------------------------// // Thieves, Doppelgangers and a Lemon // Story: Sunset's Possible Returns, by Princess Celestia // by Marwile //------------------------------// Scenario RH-SF#6: In the middle of the night Sunset suddenly stepped out of the mirror. Following her were a few shady-looking ponies, who tumbled around as if they were ponies for the first time in their lives. Of course this created some noise. “Pssst! Silence!” Sunset growled in a low voice. “Do you want to blow–” “Hello? Is somepony ther– Sunset? Is that you? You finally returned!” Sunset and her group, at least the ones who could stand properly, immediately froze, while Celestia walked up to them. “I can’t believe you came back. It has been so long. And are these ponies your friends? I always knew you would eventually find some. Come on, introduce us!” Luckily Sunset has the ability to adapt quickly. “Oh… Ehhh… Yes! Yes, they are. I made friends in this other world and I wanted to show them, where I came from. H-How about me introducing you over tea and a piece of your special cake?” “Oh, what a great idea! You wait here and I’ll quickly bake the cake for you!” With that the princess ran into the direction of the kitchen. Sunset waited until she was sure Celestia couldn’t hear her. “Alright. Quick. You take everything of value and throw it through the mirror. And you follow me to the treasure chamber.” “And what about the cake?” Asked one of the ponies. “Shut up, Johnny. And you really don’t want to taste her cake. Why do you think she has so many cooks?” Some time later Celestia returned with her super-tasty, but sadly underappreciated, cake to find Sunset and the other ponies gone. As well as the decorations of the throne room. And the contents of the treasure chamber. “Does this mean Tia’s cooking has not improved? What have you done for the last thousand years?” Luna wondered out loud. “And why am I most concerned about cake?” Scenario RH-AD#8: Sunset stumbled out of the mirror. She looked completely disheveled and dirty. And she also smelled exactly like she looked. It also seemed like her mind was anywhere but here. “Sunset, what happened to you?” Celestia asked with motherly concern. “Ohhh… N-Nothing… Celly. We just had an awesome *hick* party and all those drinks and I was like ‘heeey, wonder what *hick* Celelestia is doing’.” Sunset said while slowly failing to keep her balance. “Sunset, are you drunk?” Celestia asked even more concerned. “Well, I don’t feel sober… This could explain why everything smelled like alcohol. Hehe.” Centuries of experience made Celestia very patient and calm under nearly every circumstance. This wasn’t one of them. “Young mare! You’ll go up to your room and go to bed right now! And then you’ll sleep until you can think straight again! And tomorrow we will have a much needed talk about the meaning of ‘responsible drinking’!” “Al-right, alright. Jeez. *hick* Now I remember why I ran away.” Sunset started to walk to her room. To her credit, she nearly reached the halfway point before falling asleep on the carpet. “Eeyup, that’s one of the things that can make Tia really angry.” Luna commented. “Who am I talking to?” Scenario CC-MS#2: A yellow unicorn mare walked carefully out of the mirror. She had red-yellow hair and a sun as cutie mark. She looked around the throne room trying to take in as much of it as possible. “What is this place? It looks so… lively and colorful.” The mare voiced her thoughts. Suddenly she heard someone entering the huge room behind her. Princess Celestia stared at the surprising visitor for a few moments. “Sunset? Is that you?” She started to run towards the unicorn, but stopped immediately when she noticed the mare shrinking back like a scared little filly. When the princess got close she heard her muttering something in a shaky voice. “P-P-P-Please, d-don’t p-p-punish m-me, e-e-empress. I-I-I’m s-sorry for r-running away.” Celestia was surprised to see a pony that looked like a mirror-image of Sunset acting like the full opposite of her. “I don’t know, what you are talking a about. But know this, little pony, nopony here wants to punish or hurt you in any way. How about you calm down and introduce yourself to me first?” She said in a motherly tone. The unicorn seemed to calm down at Celestia’s voice and opened up. “M-My name is Sunset Shimmer and I’m the personal student of Empress Celestia, a powerful alicorn, who tries to take over the world. Studying under her was very hard and she always pushed me over my limits so I could become a strong alicorn as fast as possible. But one day… I just couldn’t take it anymore. I questioned my ruler and she got angry and I ran away in fear. It showed an image of me enjoying a calm and peaceful life, so I just went through it without thinking. What will happen to me now? Do I have to go back?” Celestia couldn’t help but smirk when she realized the irony of the situation. “Don’t worry, Sunset. I’m pretty sure you’ll like it here.” “Oh no, please no more doppelgangers.” Luna said in a clearly annoyed tone. “I’d prefer to never meet transdimensional counterparts ever again.” Scenario JR-BN#6: Sunset stepped out of the mirror. She looked around the throne room for a few moments while a surprised Celestia watched her. “Nope.” Sunset turned around and walked through the mirror. Meanwhile a confused Celestia just stood there. “What?” Meanwhile a confused Luna just sat there. “What?” Scenario EG-LZ#1: A pegasus mare stepped out of the mirror connecting Equestria to the human world. Her fur was a shade of pink, while her wild and unkempt mane consisted of different shades of green. Her cutie mark looked like firework in the shape of lemon slices. She listened to music over her dark pink headphones with her eyes closed while bobbing her head in the rhythm of a rock song and seeming to be completely oblivious to the new world around her or her sudden change in physiology. Celestia watched the unexpected visitor walking around aimlessly until she bumped accidentally into her. The mare finally opened her eyes and took off her headphones, whose obnoxiously loud rock music could now be heard in the whole room. “Oh, sorry, ehh, do ya maybe know where the toilet is?” She asked without any apparent shock or surprise. Celestia pointed with her hoof to the closest bathroom. “Thanx. Man, your school looks much bigger on the inside.” The mare walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later she came out and walked back through the mirror. “I really hope she washed her hooves.” Meanwhile a confused Luna just sat there. “Again, what?”
