Dear Mr. Pendragon,
It is with deepest regret that I write to you to inform you that, as of November the 18th, after extensive searches, I am forced to declare your son, Private, First Class Knight Errant, to be officially Missing in Action.
Pfc. Knight's unit was deployed in response to the unknown magical threat which presented itself on the outskirts of Fillydelphia on that day, and it is with the deepest sorrows that I write to inform you that along with two of his squadmates, Knight failed to report back in after action, and despite our best attempts, we have been unable to locate any trace of him.
I unfortunately did not know Pvt. Knight very well, having only spoken with him briefly upon his promotion to Private, First Class. During that encounter, he struck me as an intelligent and well-spoken pony, with genuine spirit in his voice.
You have my deepest condolences, sir. Equestria mourns the loss of one of Celestia's finest.
