The touch of fabric was like a fine slice of strawberry silk cake and the smell reminded her of it's pink dreamy goodness.
She snickered at her derailed train of thought. Taking off her red framed glasses she closed her eyes and caressed the cloth letting her
mind wonder into weave and warp of the material. 'I surely do enjoy a good nibble now and then'.
"Rarity, you silly mare" She smiled at the ladies musings "Time must be getting close for our little get together, Opal dear are you ready?"
She looked in the one of many mirrors in her display room gathered her main up into a tasteful bun checking her A- game face.
"Fabulous as usual my dear and now the piece de resistance" She picked up a small red box with a pink ribbon in her magical aura
laying the little package into her carry all with a shot gun riding Opal.
"Opal dear you are definitely mommas little angel, why not a scratch or peep all morning and I know how we love our beauty sleep".
Opal just smiled at her momma arching her back for a little rubby that was quickly delivered.
Purrs followed the two as they exited Raritys shop, the sign turned to closed and door securely bolted. They go.

"This little dragon has his duty to give his mares something sweet and fruity" Spikes tune was a byproduct of
wishful thoughts and a desire to excel at his job as the assistant of a one Princess of Friendship and a helper to all the mares
he knew especially the one that caught his eyes so many years ago.
A blanket laid out the boundaries of the weekly get together. Fruit snacks drinks and sandwiches clustered in the middle a small
table provided the cleanliness and an area beneath for the most popular of reading materials.
For Rainbow Dash there was the ever popular Sports Equestria with the special mega poster edition with the Wonderbolts.
For Apple Jack the latest issue of the Farmers Almanac chuck full of charts, graphs, tables on planting and plowing schedules.
For Fluttershy the good old Equestrian Geographic a colts standby magazine when playcolt was too hard to get your hoofs or claws on.
For Rarity a fine set of romantic novels and Fashion Week tabloids as Rarity always said Spike really knew how to pick them.
For Twilight a pocket Dictionary and Magical Thesaurus. The unabridged editions whenever you needed rhyme or rhythm.
For Pinkie Pie a coloring book with washable crayons.
Spike laid out his collectors edition The Power Ponies Almanac The Impact on Pop Culture by Mareval Comics.
Of all the books laid out Spikes almanac was requested by the lady of fashion herself something about wanting to see the costume
trends for a little inspiration for her next line of clothing called 'Comic Mod'.
"Hi ya Spike how's it going?" AJ settled down placing a plate of apple fritters along with the goodies already on display.
"Couldn't be better" Spike bent over and smoothed out some wrinkles in the blanket.
"Gotcha" Spike found himself in a feathered head lock 'noogie - noogie - noogie' "Who's awesome?" Rainbow teased the dragon.
"Who's Awesome" Spike took a single claw and put it put it in his mouth "Come on Spike who's number one!" the dripping wet
digit slowly worked it's way "Who's awesome..." into Rainbows ear "Ugh ! A wet willy! yuck dragon spit!"
Rainbow released his scaly prisoner "totally gross not cool at all!" An obvious shiver went down her spine as she cleaned her ear.
Spike raised his finger waving it at Miss Dashy "You might be the awesome Rainbow Dash but there's only one number one. Me."
Spike rocked on his heals his arms crossed proudly across his chest. Rainbow retaliated with a raspberry and a pouty lip 'buzz killer!'
Twilight and Fluttershy took their places. The few around the blanket overheard that Fluttershy was now dating the Lord of Chaos.
"Wow Fluttershy that's really great! Fluttershyhasaspecialdraconequusparty!" Pinkie slammed a cake onto the table sending everything
haphazardly into the air. Plates eats and drinks landed on the blanket one setting in front of each pony and each pony a serving.
The whole area showered in streamers and confetti as hidden party cannons saluted Fluttershys special occasion.
Rarity arrived fashionably late as usual. She laid on the blanket next to Spike and patted he hoof where she wanted her Spikey to sit.

They settled down to a relaxing afternoon just nibbling and slurping their refreshments. Small talk of little
nothings of the prior week and months. Events rolled on and then the rumors started pouring out of the wood works sort of speaking.
"I heard that Celestia has a blind date set up for Twilight" Pinkie said with a wiggling of her eye brows "Hint hint".
"Well it's no secret that some quiet red stallion has a few mares on the line like Marble, Lime Stone, Cheerilee and..."
"Twilight that was uncalled for we all know how few gents we have in Ponyville" AJ blushed "he has been a little busy lately".
"Well we all know Pinkie dates everypony" Fluttershy smiled warmly "It's her main occupational party hazard".
"Actually I'm not dating a bunch of anyponys" Pinkie confessed "Just one little bugger".
"Aw come on I've seen you with at least twenty different ponies and Spike too!" Rainbow accused "I can see everything from the air!"
Pinkie was caught red hoofed Rainbows cloud vantage point over Ponyville saw all and she had no alibi.
"Okay I confess I'm dating a changeling..." Pinkies ears drooped as gasps filled the air "I met him after Shinings wedding".
"Spike Rarity? you two are awfully quiet over there" Twilight derped "lets hear it".
"Yeah, It's no secret he's been crushing on you for years he even has that creepy little plushy we've seen him dragging around"
Rainbow raised an accusing hoof at the two "come on out with it".
Rarity looked at Spike let out a calming breath pulled her head up staring strait at the Wonderbolt a worldly smile on her face.
"Spike has a crush on moi?" her hoof laid upon her chest "a crush is so one sided would you say Miss Dash? Spike and I have been
quite busy indeed but not as you imagine. Spikey will you tell Miss Dash what we have accomplished in the last six months".
Spike pulled out a scroll from behind his back cleared his throat and fired away "Rarity and I have been amassing an empire in
fashion, merchandising, magazine publishing, breakfast cereals, and bought out the Power Ponies franchise".
The two smiled like mane-iacs "Power ponies comics, Power Ponies the action figures, Power Ponies foals sleep ware,
Power Ponies the breakfast cereal, Power Ponies collectable figures, Power Ponies the Animated Series, Power Ponies the Movie,
Think of the conventions Radiance and Humdrum, Come meet your favorite heros!" the stars in their eyes was positively blinding.
Rainbow blew a raspberry "everypony knows that Zap is the best Power Pony".
"What about the rest of us?" Twilight bleated "we where Power Ponies too, don't we count as anything in any of this?"
"That was just one adventure in a paid for enchanted magazine" Spike looked at Rarity "Gosh, we bought the whole franchise".
"Well that's find and dandy in business" AJ drawled "we're talking pleasure, you know the mushy romancing stuff".
Spike wilted sitting back down on the warm blanket his eyes moist his claws trembling tapping out his continuing frustration.
Rarity then stood up cradling him in her fore hooves her eyes blazing at Apple Jack she glanced at her Spikey Wikey.
"Apple Jack what relationship a Gentledrake and a Lady has between them is none of anyponies business!"
"So it's all business" AJ asked coldly. Silence filled the air as the duel started, Rarity would say 'It is on!'
"It's okay Rarity" Spike whispered to his partner in Power Ponies not wanting to besmirch her honor and lose what little heart he had left.
Rarity held a hoof under Spikes chin looking into his emerald eyes 'such a gentle giving soul' her thoughts raced back to her
earlier days what she saw surprised nopony he shared everything even his heart and she made him a business partner...

"Well what is it?" Apple Jack smirked thinking 'Rarity will never admit to who she wants cause she just don't know'.
"Spike is an honest and hard working partner in our business empire" Rarity started.
"and?" AJ prodded.
"He's been helping all of you from time to time burning the midnight oil".
"and?" AJ poked.
"Taking care of my shop when I visit Coco and Sassy at my other locations".
"and?" AJ pushed
"Letting me dress him up in my latest fashions".
"and?" AJ snickered.
"Spike was fabulous darling, he was quite dashing".
"So you and Spike are buddies?" AJ probed.
"No I wouldn't say that?"
"he's your employee?" AJ quizzed.
"No partners".
"that's it partners?" Apple Jack let it out with a moan 'partners?
"he's".
HE'S".
"He's what?" AJ leaned forward facing Rarity across the blanket as Angel Bunny hopped through the duel with a bundle of flowers,
paying no mind to the mares he dived into Raritys carry all where Opal sat watching her mistress battling with the farmer.
"He's my BOYFRIEND!" Raritys eye twitched "THERE I SAID IT YOU HAPPY NOW!"
Spike eyes widened sparkled and slowly blinked taking in Raritys glow his grin grew like a Cheshire cat Rarity said, she said...
"Apple Jack! Rarity!" Twilight yelled then took a softer tone looking at the two "I think you broke my assistant".
Pinkie face planted.
Fluttershy gasped then covered her blushing face in her wings.
Rainbow popped a wing boner as her thoughts went to the forbidden zone.
And poor Spike was a big purple pile of lizard mush but he was happy.

With the outing inquisition finished and Rainbows wings subdued Rarity pulled out her red box with the pink ribbon.
She slowly unwrapped the dessert and pulled out individual pieces of marejool, her magical grasp placed out the date based treat
in front of her friends one for each pony.
"Rarity where did you find this? It's a Maretonia traditional dessert" Twilights mouth drooled she knew how delectable these where.
"Well you remember that ruffian of a landlord in my 'Rarity for You' boutique? After word got to Celestia, whoever put the word out"
She looked at a beaming Spike "he offered a reduced rent and introduced me to another tenet who had the recipe".
They got ready to begin nibbling on the desserts when Rarity cleared her throat her magic blocking the multiple mouths.
"This is not just a simple Maretonian date dessert. But a quaint little tradition you need only to close your eyes and make a wish".
Rainbow interrupted her "Ah where's Spikes piece?"
"That's okay I'm fine" Spike replied.
"Nonsense Spikey Boo you can have mine I have plenty back at the boutique" Rarity spoke "just remember to close your eyes and
make your wish"
She held his in front of his snout as he closed his eyes like all the rest. Spike could hear the others nibble and make that quiet wish.
'I wish my date with Discord goes well' Fluttershy nibbled somewhere Discord felt a tingle across his wings.
'I wish I had a hundred foals like Pound and Pumpkin! and a party and a new party cannon and cupcakes! and...' Rainbow Dash felt
a shiver of doom and gloom as a changeling somewhere across Ponyville fainted.
'I wish, no, Celestia knows who to pick for Twilights date, Maybe somepony we know' Spike could feel the sweet dessert on his lips.
'I wish that Apple Jack goes all fru fru over a guy just because' Rainbow snickered as she chewed.
'I wish I knew what RD is snickering about' AJ chewed the treat thinking 'It's okay but it ain't no apple'
Twilight nibbled hers without a wish thinking nothing peeking at Rarity and Spike.
Spike continued savoring the morsel his eyes closed till his lips mashed into something soft he reached out on reflex and found more soft.
Twilight giggled as watched the two shared a gentle kiss. His first sweet mashing of lips.
A screeching scream bellowed from Raritys carry all as white fluff and fur blew in the wind. Opals distress shocked everypony into
emergency mode.
"Opal baby mummys here!" Rarity raced to the carry all as Angel Bunny leaped out in a flurry. His paws holding a cup of hot water
and paper towels. The look of confusion on his tiny face along with a few patches of missing fur.
Rarity peeked in to see Opal. She sprung straight up teetering and muttering "Opal - Opal?" till she fainted into Spikes awaiting arms.
Fluttershy peeked into the carry all and gasped "Angel Bunny what did you do?" the rabbit just held out his paws choked his own
neck and pointed at Opal and repeating a paw plant "Opal? So he really did this to you?"
Apple Jack was ready to skin the bunny alive when the soft sounds of kittens filled the air.
The group minus Rarity looked at the strange looking babies till Fluttershy smiled "They're Kabits - part kitty and part rabbit".
The bunch let out a collective "you've got to be kidding me!" as a Royal guard marched up...
"Are you Princess Twilight Sparkle?"
"Yes and you can call me Twilight, Did Princess Celestia send you?" Her hopes hit an all time high.
"Yes I'm escorting your 'date'. Her 'dates' escort was as handsome as what Rarity would of killed for at the Grand Galloping Galas of past.
"Well shall we?" Twilight was floating on air following the guard her date had to be of royal quality. and he was...
"Princess Twilight Sparkle your date for tonight Princess Celestias own nephew Prince Blue Blood".
Somewhere in Canterlot castle somepony shivered as a piece of triply fudge chocolate cake fell to the floor "Oh poo..."
