This story has always been quite dear to me (and on that note, it certainly took me long enough to get around to it). It's wonderfully slice of life with a storyline that's clearly progressing. His first kill, huh? Feels appropriately... hollow. I particularly like how much instinct took over for him. It's usually not that obvious, but that's pretty much a case-in-point example of why drills are so essential to any military mindset.
Things are progressing. This chapter seems to be establishing a new "operational norm," though I might be wrong on that one. Any rate, it was a well paced, tight chapter withthout any extra bloating. Just left me wondering if he ever did find that potion to replace the one he used, or if he forgot about it... Guess we'll find out.
Until next time!
One of the things that I love about FoE is that the themes from MLP shines trough it so often. Yes it is a wasteland, yes there are raiders out there, but peeps did not do it all because they were greedy as in Fo, but because they didn't knew better. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that. So seeing the joke Vault of 69 wich was made by Penny Arcade being real like this... first low point in the story so far. I could understand an all girl lesbian stable, you can fertalize an egg with itself after all, and getting rid of the stallions there clearly are the agressive and problematic peeps that caused all the war, could have been an interresting premise in how that could have gone wrong. The Stables was made to see how ponies could right their wrongs, not for shit and giggles while planning to go into outer space... yea rant over.
