Nice chapter!

Thanks!!

Hee! Thanks for jumping on board!
Just about to start reading.
I pinkie promise that if she doesn't hear Pinkie's recording at some point, I'll have to hurt the nearest living thing. Please don't make me do that to my cat, I love her so much.
3954900
Woo! Thanks!
I won't lie, I think your cat will be just fine.
3954922 Good, because I really need some closure on that.
Anyway, after finishing the prologue, I'm interested, but wary. I assume you got better about this later on, but the the beginning felt a little rushed. A lot happened in what felt like very little time at all. Though this may just be due to the original story's beginning being much longer, coupled with you having a different writing style, so it might just feel rushed in comparison(I know I'll be comparing this to the original a lot, which is expected).
Anyway it's nice to be reading sequel(fanmade is still a sequel) to my my work of literature. I hope this turns out good. Now I think I'll go mess with the epub for bit so it will work on my Nook, since I know it will be long read.
3955170
There is an official epub I created, over at http://www.fallout-equestria.com/story/view/178/
However, the only caveat is that I have yet to have the time to update the epub with the edited Prologue and Chapter 1 (which is what is posted on FIMFic). We're currently going through an early chapter edit pass (nothing major, just grammar and fixing things that need to be fixed). When I update the epub for 34 (which I just posted), I will make sure to update it for those two chapters. I'll let you know when that is done (probably tomorrow sometime).
Anyways, thanks for starting to read and your comments! Hope to hear more in the future!
3955204 Well I'll be keeping that bookmarked. I'll be sure to grab the epub when it gets the update. I'm rarely ever able to read fics on my Nook due to it using Adobe Digital Editions for the progam it uses to read files(A problem i originally had on my computer before switching to Calibre), so I'm always happy when I can get an alternate version.
I'll probably drop a comment every few chapters. I'm sure this will good.
Erie. The OC on the left on the cover image looks a lot like one I made a couple years ago, except mine was a stallion and had a different eye color. Different cutie mark too, but still, very similar.
3955237
I'll for sure let you know when I get it updated.
Heh, Snappy the Cerberus, cute. Especially the snoogie woogums part
It was nice how you're able to add stuff from season 4 into the memories, will we see Cheese next chapter?
3957241
Doubtful. I've got a special kind of interesting planned for the "Laughter" sequence. It shall be pretty neat.
However, thanks for the comment! Snappy the Cerberus was fun.
3955237 FimFiction gives the option to download stories in the epub format. On the main story page, below the chapter list, on the left side, by where is says "Incomplete" are three icons. The third icon that looks like a laid back green "e" will let you download the story in the epub format.
Also, the FanFictionDownLoader plugin for Calibre can download from FimFiction and save the stories in the epub format.
I hope these options might help, I don't have a Nook so I can't give device specific help.
3963332
The epub downloader on FIMFiction is horrifically bad at dropping chapters, parts of chapters, etc.
It also fails to grab cover art. I own a Nook myself and I heavily dislike not seeing cover art if art exists for a story.
I've also tried to use FanFiction Downloader, and I personally didn't care for it and keeping stories up to date with it felt like a nightmare. My current process for maintaining my Calibre library involves a highly manual process, but it works and it produces quality work. It also does not take as long as it used to, since once a story is in my Calibre Library, it takes little time for me to update.
It is for this reason alone that I provide a hand-crafted epub / kindle version / PDF over on fallout-equestria.com All three mobile reader formats have been updated to include the edited early chapters along with Chapter 34.
I also handle this for several other FoE stories, namely Murky Number Seven, among others.
3964084 Yeah, I usually prefer to process and format stories in Word before using Calibre to convert to mobi format for my Kindle to ensure a consistent and pleasant read. Given that preference, I have not really used those methods much, and mainly offered them up as options for people who may not be experienced/interested in formatting documents.
Anyway, I currently have reached the dragon fight scene in chapter 33 and should be able to read though chapter 34 in the next few days. Keep up the good work.

I manually convert using OpenOffice/Calibre and generally find that it produces better quality stuff. ODT is a great format for conversion to just about anything, and it also provides built-in PDF conversion that also looks pretty good.
Last I checked, I had roughly 300 some odd ponyfics (including FoE stuff) in my Calibre lib, and still some more I need to convert.
Great story, although when I read that it planned to end at ch 36 plus an epilogue, I was happy since there are 36 segments posted- then I remembered that the chapters are offset by two.
I can wait though.
The only flaw in the story here is how the canon doesn't match the official canon, but it's not like you knew kkat's planned ending when you planned your story.
3970309
Howso? I'm curious what you've found that doesn't match up. I've tried my best to match things up as closely as possible.
3970847 The Gardens of Equestria needed the elements of harmony to activate, and the story is set about 25 years after. So while its plausible that some of the new bearers have died, as the
epilogueafterword shows, Ditzy Doo, for example, was the new bearer of laughter. So basically the elements should have been in the forms of the new bearers; and probably non corrupt You started this well before theepilogueAfterword was written though, and its still a good plot. Also, the elements of harmony are now in golden pipbuck form. Even while fluttershy was alive the element of kindness moved on.
Ditzy Doo is the element of laughter,
Calamity was Loyalty (It said it at some point earlier in the end chapters. The afterword only mentions him being an elemental bearer), and Homage is of Honesty. The two other bearers (Magic and Generosity) are not found at the end of the main story, nor are their identities revealed in the afterword. Of course at the end of typing this I realize it'd have been easier to just link to the wiki's page on it...
As I said, most of this was released well after you started, since the story wasn't "complete" until the end of October 2013. A good bit later than you started (Theres a good chance you addressed this in an authors note that I missed, though I'm not sure on EFS having trouble with ghouls, but I doubt every pipbuck was updated with the most pristine and reliable EFS when balefire bombs happened). About 18 months to be exact. Though you did a good job explaining the Alicorn Twilight curve-ball Hasbro made in early-ish 2013, which also made a good plot device since we all know who's wings it'l probably be (It sounds painful. ). Anyways, to adapt it to the new lore would kinda screw the whole plot up, so I don't hold it against you (even if it didn't screw the whole plot up I still wouldnt); and I prefer it this way.
Of course the new canon thrown out was just Discord's attempt to stop the Ministry Mare, one that failed miserably.
Anyways, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any updates- good stories, yet alone long and mostly-complete ones, are hard to find. .
3972435
Huh? I'm slightly confused. When have I ever said that Starlight takes place 25 years after the end of the original story? I'm pretty sure I've never stated this anywhere, in story or not.
It most certainly does not, if that's what you think. Starlight takes place closely after the Day of Sunshine and Rainbows, notably within the year. It takes place before Gardens of Equestria.
As for the ghoul thing with EFS... that's a fubar on my part, that's something that's being corrected in our edit pass.
3972435
Furthermore I would like to point out that Starlight was started well after the original FO:E completed. If you're referring to the posting of the story on FIMFic, this does not reflect when the story was actually completed. I had to really read your comment again to kind of try and understand what you were referring to there about me starting my story before the original finished.
FO:E was originally published via Google Docs as it was an EQD post. The Afterword was published in 2011. See here.
3974680 I was using kkat's fimfiction blogs to get the dates from- but looks like I'm bad at research (Rather embarrassing mistake on my part). Anyways, good story, can't wait for the next chapter, even though the canon around the EoH is off since the bearers changed, four of which are known.
I have a tendency to find grammatical mistakes and canon errors when I read. (I've seen stories with multiple editors and pre readers screw "Bob and I" versus "Bob and me" up, your/you're, we're/were, and other things up. Not that it helps me when I actually try to proofread things... Also I have a tendency to ramble, just a lot. I manage to turn a sentance into a wall of text anywhere besides essays that I need filler for.)
Well you covered alot in one chapter and boy was it fun to read

I've said this many, many times before and I'll say it again. Greed was intended as a reference, yes. It is not one of my better ones, I'll admit, and once I had decided to develop the seven as a recurring theme and the erstwhile villains of the Chicacolt arc of the story (and not even really that, really only just Pride), that I developed the rest of them into characters in their own right, free of any fma references.
Lust, Sloth, and Wrath especially. Gluttony too. There is a story behind them that is built and explained upon. Lust is especially important later on in the story, and is one of my more favorite characters to write.
Undoubtedly people are going to draw whatever conclusion they wish to draw, and because of Greed I know some tend to see the rest of them as carbon copies of the FMA characters regardless of what they actually read (which is amusing because they're really not), but I do implore you to keep reading.
There is merit in evaluating a character based on their character, not just assuming that they're all references, and given the fact that based on your chapter listed you're on Chapter 9, you've only just met Pride and Lust. Give it time to develop. Not every character starts as a multi-layered and depth-filled character the first time you see them. That's what character development is for.
Thanks for the comments, however.
So Cruelty and Avarice are both dead now , also Children of the Cathedral I see what you did there . I am gonna say that the pink alicorn is Laughter but with a different name. Also at least Patch and her foals survived with no harm, good chapter again.
4220105
I had to respond, this is too good.
4231920 I'm gonna take one more gander and then my extreme analysis powers are up for the year.
So Star is playing Fallout 3 without the broken steel DLC, Violet is breaking the rules, Steeljack is playing 3 with the DLC or NV without the DLC, and I'm not sure on the others.
