    Delays and Requests

Ohai there fellows. Good to see you again.

To cut a long story short: due to life being life, the second act of P&P will be ever so slightly delayed. Maybe 2 weeks to start coming out or something. Sorry about that!

    >MFW...

...The laptop that has been insanely reliable for two years now, and hasn't crashed on me once, actually does crash when I'm in the middle of my writing flow.

    ...

Thankfully, I seem to have only lost around 2,000 words.

On the other hand... I lost 2,000 words.

    It's coming.

It's taken far longer than it should have, and I've had to change so damn much just to get the first chapter(s) actually decent enough to make anybody want to read the rest.

But, at long last, it's all coming together.

What a Christmas present for me: Live Reading of 'Endure'

This was a nice thing to find waiting for me on Christmas Eve morning!

The Living Library Player Society looks to have done a bumper crop of live readings of fics, and that old 'Endure' story of mine that I'd pretty much forgotten about by this point was one of them!

Super Secret Preview · 7:00am Dec 2nd, 2012

Psst. Hey you.

Yes, you. The one with the eyeballs that are looking at these words right here.

I got something for you. This is super special, because I literally just wrote it. Not even my pre-reader has taken a glance at this yet, and I'm sharing it with you.

Why? Because I love you, isn't it obvious?

Here's a sneaky peaky preview of Predictions and Prophecies, taken completely out of context and edited slightly to preserve details:

***

It was still relieving to know that she was the only one who knew of their monstrous (possible, not certain, she reminded herself) future. It gave her a little breathing space, a reason to relax.

Later, when she looked back on this train ride, this was what she would blame for what happened next. That second of relief, that opportunity for calm… It was like tempering a metal, she would think. Heating it, applying intense pressure to it, steadily increasing the temperature and moulding it into a strong structure… then, suddenly, giving it a moment of calm, a moment to cool.

And then slamming all that heat—all that pressure—right back onto it, a precise blow that shattered it completely.

Right now, she needed a reprieve. She needed that moment of calm. She clung to it desperately, a drowning sailor in a sea of despair.

It brought her all the closer to shattering.

***

If that isn't dramatic, I'll eat my car's battery.

So does Twilight Sparkle smith metal often? :derpytongue2:

Yes, it's dramatic. Please put the car battery down.
