Now just in case you don't know, one of the reasons for the slow updates to Smoke and Mirrors is because I've been working on a collaboration with several other writers called The Royal Road. It's essentially a project focused on an AU Equestria based around the third crusades, so war and religion are both prominent themes in it. The main story is that the three lands of Harmonia, Solaris, and Nocturne, each founded on the beliefs of the two Royal Pony Sisters, live in relative peace with each other despite religious divisions. Said peace is broken when Discord, who's seal is normally maintained by an ancient ritual involving the Elements of Harmony, escapes from his stone prison to wreak havoc across the lands.
In the collab itself, there are eleven stories, each following the adventures and experiences of two characters during this time that frequently intersect with each other to form a bigger picture and world than what just one story can show. So far, only one other story besides mine is uploaded, but the rest will be coming up within the next few months.

Hmm, not sure if entirely my cup of tea, but I did enjoy Smoke and Mirrors (even if haven't fricking commented on it for a long time, cause didn't sit down and read the whole chapter start-to-finish, but I have read enough to know what's happened in chapters I have yet to mark off, and I did read the latest... assumed maybe at some point before saw the final chapter uploaded that's why final chapter wasn't uploaded, cause of the crossover with blueheartpegasus's fic), so might enjoy this too, even if it's a bit darker. Though I'm confused: you said only one other story besides yours is done, yet you say you're going to like WORKING on this idea? Does that mean you have intent to do more than one story in the project, or it isn't yet written/finished entirely?
Anyway, might read when I make some time, even though have a lot of other fics to kinda sort through and such, and haven't made time what with latest updates to several other tracked fics and just goofing around in general with reading and such.

Currently have 632 and that's not all of 'em (might add more from notifications nearly a week ago before they're erased, since joined several groups back in September), several I wrote links down to off-site and several more I HAVE sort of read at some point or other, but want to re-read thoroughly or something, if not to leave a comment on select few meant to, I guess. Plus a few that were removed from site, but not from Read It Later total, back when coding was screwed up, I guess.

My story isn't finished yet. Only the first chapter's done, and I'll be working on the rest for a while now while everyone else in the collab writes their stories as well. Maybe finished wasn't the correct word to use; let's say that mine is the second to be uploaded instead.

But it's cool, no worries! Well, still hope we'll see other occasional uploads, if you feel like it, as I'm eager to see what else you can come up with in your time! As well as remainder of Smoke and Mirrors, and it's impending sequel!

wow, i thought my 170 RL's were a lot.
still, some of those stories are long! i probably have at least five million words worth in my Read Later.
plus, i really want to start writing some stories of my own (currently have four different ideas i really want to write), and that'll reduce the amount of time i have to keep up with my tracked stories even more!

Yeah, I've read a LOT on this site since late last year or early beginning of this year; either way. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/shrug_Derpy_Hooves.png Of course, have added several to Read It Later that did at one point or have had intent to read, before I forget about it, since memory's not so hot. Of course, saw someone on story I meant to read recently uploaded (but haven't added or done so yet) with mentioned 1,500-1,600, so that's maybe not so bad in comparison, eheh.
And yeah, I know about reading time cut on by writing or other possible distractions... I started a story two weekends ago, and haven't done anything on it since, not really feeling it. Only started cause of a certain friend giving me a nudge and saying should just do it, when I had the desire to do it. Since then, been sorta playing on computer mostly, reading new updates and fast-reading or fake reading stories or chapters of stories sorta read in the past... I be weird, yo.
I have a LOT more ideas than just the one I may submit soon, though (assuming I can get back to work on it, if make time, even if might be not 'in the zone' as Rarity would say dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Rarity_lolface.png ).
