    It's Just More Entertaining

You know, after all this time, I'd still rather watch Countess Coloratura sing "The Spectacle" than see Rara perform "The Magic Inside". It's a matter of taste, of course, but to me, the songs and the performance of "The Spectacle" is just off-the-charts more entertaining. I'd much rather see that concert.

    Fimfiction's Autumn

So Seattle's Angels and The Royal Canterlot Library both shut down this week. I confess that I find that to be pretty sad. I had my share of success on this site, but most of my attention came from critics. I really appreciate the time that they took to review my stories and everyone else's who would normally fly under the radar. It meant the world to me, even when the review itself wasn't

    Mystery Figure

Okay, so my friend sent this image to me, and I swear I know who that winged figure is in the back, but I just can't come up with a name. Anyone know who the weird demonic creature is? I swear he's related to Grogar somehow.

Hopefully this link works. I'm too lazy to find my login credentials for Photobucket.

    The image in question.

    Hindsight Hilarity

Been a minute since I've been here, and I decided to read my last for blog posts to see what was going when I was around last.

The second most recent post was written on New Year's Eve 2019 where I spoke about how eager I was for 2020 and how much hope I had that it would be a better year.

    The Newer, Angrier Fimfiction

I'm not around much anymore, so I'm not hip to the latest trends. I dip in every so often to check messages, and about once a week I look at my notifications.

Star vs. The Forces of Evil · 6:16pm Feb 20th, 2017

You know, I don't hear very much about this cartoon. It isn't spoken about the same way that Steven Universe and Gravity Falls are/were. I say "were" because it seems like a lot of the enthusiasm around those two have cooled, as well. Anyway, the point that I'm trying to make it that Star vs. The Forces of Evil has slowly become the cartoon that I really look forward to. Not every episode is a hit, but the main storyline is fucking amazing! Since the season one finale, it has been on fire, especially the stuff with Ludo. Ludo's journey of reinvention as a villain is a jaw-dropping episode in my opinion, and Alan Tudyk is the perfect voice for him.

Star vs. The Forces of Evil is a strange beast, but in a way, it's kinda like Steven Universe. Little things that seems like throwaway gags come back as important plot pieces. Things are carried through to continue continuity. And, man, the feels! It's a wacky comedy about 85% of the time, but when they hit you with something serious, it's often quite effective. I've teared up a few times watching it.

So if you haven't been watching and you're looking for something new, give it a shot. The first season is going to seem like a lot of random-style comedy, so if you don't like that, you're probably not going to be into it, but there's a lot of meat in the show down the road. I happen to love the tone the show hits, and I hope you will, too.

Fun fact: My dog's name is Star Butterfly

I've never heard of this show before. :trollestia:

4430071 You should give it a try. You have the right look for it.

Okay, that tears it, I'm watching this next.

(Also, the hype for Gravity Falls has cooled down because the show's over. :B)

Star is amazing and there is tons of great and interesting details there. Like it's pretty clear the "monsters" on her world are being oppressed, even if based on their behavior they at least might have been the ones to start it, but even better is that isn't clear. Plus there are lots of unanswered questions and mysteries. If you're not watching it you certainly should.

4430127 Yep, and the hype for Steven cools whenever there aren't episodes and the schedule is just plain weird. It's still getting better too. The recent space arc was full of all sorts of neat stuff, and in ended with a villain song that seemed bad (as in evil) on first listen, but not too remarkable. But on a second you realize there is always a pause, so it's not "What's the use of feeling blue" but "What's the use of feeling, Blue" cementing Yellow Diamond (the Villain in question) as being anti feeling which is of course very much against everything Steven stands for.

Star Vs is a fantastic show. Man, that ending to the last Ludo episode.

I can see the resemblance.

It really is a fantastic show. Fantastic enough to bless me with a new waifu.

I've had a good number of fanfiction ideas for it too, but alas, there isnt a good place to post them. Fanfiction.net and Wattpad are honestly terrible. It really makes you think about how lucky bronies are to have this site.

To be fair Gravity Falls has ended.

Also, how is your goofy lummox?

Also, a lot of the fun of that show was speculating about the various mysteries in it; now that it is over and we know the answers, there's less need to speculate.

4430127
4430479 Wikipedia still has it listed in the present tense, so I wasn't sure if it was still on or not. I never really could get into Gravity Falls. It was okay, but I didn't really love it.

4430364 Ludo is so amazing! His arc has just been the best thing!

4430806 Yeah wikipedia's a bit goofy sometimes. Still wanna knows howsa pooch. :pinkiehappy:

4431107 She's a lot easier to live with than she was as a pup. She was sick in some capacity for her first year of life. We got her stem cell therapy for her legs, and that made a world of difference. Now she can walk much better than she did before. She actually took a running leap into the house a while back. That floored me.

She's both the worst dog ever and the best dog possible. It never ends with her. It's always a struggle, but she's so loving and so good at her job of guarding and protecting. On any given day I want to hug her to death or strangle her to death, but I'd never get rid of my dog.

4431234 That's how it often is with dogs. they're either driving you crazy or reminding you why you can't imagine life without them.

either way, I'm so glad to hear she's doing so much better. And wow on the running leap! We had a girl with no muscle tone at one point and I remember the first time I saw her really run flat out nearly made me cry.

This has been a good idea :D

4441756 The show starts off a little rough, but it becomes so good!

If that counts as "rough", I can't wait to see it when it's great!

4441791 I was floor by the season one finale. Season two is amazing!
