Hearth's Warming Cookies by Viking ZX
(Comedy, Slice of Life)
It's Hearth's Warming season and that means presents, caroling and—of course—making Hearth's Warming Cookies. But just what makes the cookies so important, anyway? Young Jammer Song is about to find out, as his uncle has brought somepony unexpected with him to help with the family's yearly tradition.

Review
A young colt named Jammer decorates cookies with his uncle. While doing so, they talk about why Hearth's Warming Cookies exist.

This story can get to feel a little bit long at times, but otherwise, it has fairly good pacing. It has very few errors in the text, which is always nice. It also feels rather planned out, but with a good amount of randomness for comedy. The tags fit well too.

Score: 9/10 Recommendation: Recommended.

Personal Thoughts: Quoting from the author:

Uses characters from and is part of The Dusk Guard.

Merry Hearth's Warming Luna! by Foals Errand
(Slice of Life)
Luna has been home from the moon for six months now. She thought she had most everything figured out, but, when those guards dragged in that large evergreen tree she came to the realization that there is plenty left to learn! Celestia watched as her little sister continued to hide with a sigh. Maybe the magic of Hearth warming would help her break through?

Review
On Hearth's Warming Eve, Luna joins Celestia in something silly; which is to say a picture of Celestia as Sante Hooves, and Luna as a reindeer. Later that night, Luna gives Celestia a decorated version of that picture, and Celestia gives Luna a book she used to have.

This one has great pacing, especially for the plot. It has very few errors in the text. It does not seem very planned out, however, but it uses that to its advantage, which is an extraordinary skill that too few authors have. The tag is also fairly good, but it does feel like it is missing one; I'm not sure which one, though.

Score: 8.5/10 Recommendation: Recommended.

Personal Thoughts: A nice short-and-sweet Hearth's Warming fic.

The Final Hearth's Warming Eve by The Princess Rarity
(Sad, Slice of Life)
Not everything is always completely perfect on the holidays...

Review
Scootaloo wants to buy a necklace for her mom, but can't afford it. Rainbow Dash buys the necklace for her, and they rush off to the hospital to give it to Scootaloo's mother, but they are too late.

This one has excellent pacing all throughout it, except when in the jewelry store where it can be a little long. It has very few errors within, though. It also feels fairly planned out, though the dialogue between Scootaloo, Rainbow, and the Salespony does get a bit confusing. The tags work out alright.

Score: 7.5/10 Recommendation: Intermediate.

Personal Thoughts: A good work, just gets confusing at times for who is speaking.

A Royal Hearth's Warming by Test4Echo
(Slice of Life
Another year, another Hearth's Warming Day. With it comes presents, wishing ponies goodwill, presents, sisterly love amongst all ponies, and most importantly, presents. Time to celebrate it with Celestia.

Review
Luna and Celestia open presents and have a pillow fight.

This one has amazing pacing for how simple the plot is. It has few errors in the text, which is quite nice. It also feels planned out enough to be great, with the right amount of random mixed in. The tag fits well enough, though it could maybe, just maybe, use a "Comedy" tag..

Score: 9/10 Recommendation: Highly Recommended.

Personal Thoughts: This is a great short fiction, that is even good no matter what time of year it is.

Thanks for the review! I appreciate it. And yes, it is missing a tag but sadly there is no cute or feels tag yet. Thus we all must suffer!

Ooh, a Highly Recommended fic! Have you awarded that rating before?

Thanks for the review of my story! I appreciate that you think it is so well done. I suppose I could have added a comedy tag all those years ago, but I found it more cute and fluffy funny rather than laugh out loud funny like most comedy fics I read.

Rush and Pony on!

I agree about the cute and fluffy; though it is not comedy in the traditional way, there are still comedic elements.

Yup... FIMfiction really needs a "Cute" tag.

4352907 I need to catch up! I hadn't even registered that there was a VHR tier as well.

Those came from some of my first blog posts, and I do not intend to give many of them out :pinkiehappy:.

Thanks for the review! Glad you liked Hearth's Warming Cookies.
