    Watch (This) Space

    Hello everyone!

I've been gone on hiatus for a few years. I stopped watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in the middle of the seventh season. But a few months ago, my interest was rekindled. And the last two seasons were fantastic. The high point, for me, is the new characters -- the Student Six -- who breathed fresh life into the show.

Vote! · 5:02pm Nov 8th, 2016

art by WildTheory

To my fans and readers in the United States, today is the final day. If you haven't yet already, and you are old enough to participate in the country's democratic process...

I'm not going to recommend who to vote for. At this point, everything that needs to be said has been said (as well as a whole lot that never should have been). But vote! Vote for the person you believe is most qualified, or the best role model, or who has the best interests of the nation at heart. Or vote against the candidate you need to take a stand against. But take a stand.

If you hate both major party presidential candidates, vote for a third party or write-in. It is never "throwing it away" to vote your conscience or your integrity rather than give in to pragmatism. But vote! Do not be silent. Do not be complacent. Do not be lazy or too indifferent to care. Do not be content to be a victim; be a voice.

I know the excuses that your vote doesn't matter... one drop in the ocean, the electoral college, etc. Technically, mathematically, especially depending on where you live, your vote might not have any impact on the election's outcome. But your vote isn't about affecting the outcome. It is about you. It is about your integrity, your convictions and your values. And it is about you having the strength of character to stand on your principles and beliefs. Even if it doesn't matter to anyone else.

Vote.

Best wishes to all of you. Have a Cheese Sandwich.

I don't know where a voting place is?

*salutes Kkat*

Hail Kkat! You are awesome!:pinkiehappy::scootangel:

I don't know who originally said this and I paraphrased it, but I liked it:

Not voting isn't a vote for "none of the above". It's a vote for any of the above.

The Internet is your friend. Search engines are amazing things.

4290392

Go to google and google "Where do I go to vote?" Or if you have a gmail account, they have a feature that will ask you if you want to know where to go. I've gotten the notification several times already.

Depending on the state you may need more than your just your voter's card. In Texas you also need your driver's license or a passport. Basically anything that confirms your identity.

Do American elections count empty votes? I know where I live we count and present that statistic with the rest of the results, as it's the "I don't like any of these choices" option.

4290402
Turning in an empty ballot is the none of the above. Not showing up just means you aren't counted at all.

This is the first election cycle I've been a part of, and man has it been an interesting one. I've tried to keep informed on all the issues, keep an open mind.... But man am I glad Nevada has a "I don't want to vote for any of these options" box.

Here's hoping that whoever gets in the White House won't end up getting us involved in an international incident on a global scale. I'm perfectly fine with my fallout on my computer and not in my daily life, thanks!

4290493
In the possibility of said scenario, let's hope there's some sort of Lone Wanderer, Sole Survivor, or even a Little Pip out there in future who can help restore our country to its former glory.

Plot twist: Bernie Sanders gets elected by write-in :rainbowwild:

4290469
Is there an "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" choice as well? :ajsleepy:

This is not really a vote, this is a huge bad joke.
I am not from the US so i don't have to make this decision but from what i see there are no good choices.
There is one that will probably ruin and completely sell out the country to the industry and therefore fuck people over for generations.
And there is one that probably knows a bit too well what they are doing and seems hell bent on pursuing the current US foreign policy corse of causing an international conflict that would destabilize Europe and Russia so certain people can make money from that and in turn fuck people over for generations.

So there is a vote between self sacrifice and sacrificing your own values by sacrificing others... wait that kinda sounds like the theme of a certain story...

I will both be simultaneously relieved/terrified when this whole debacle is over. :applejackconfused:

4290464 That depends on the state. Some states have passed laws such that your vote isn't counted unless you vote for a "valid" choice. In these states, if you don't like the candidates on the ticket, you can still do a write-in, but only from the state's approved write-in list.

honestly, i am not voting period. not be ause lazy, but because absolutely no one represents my voice in this election, nor hte prior one. hillary and trump are equal in terms of uselessness, and clear corruption. even the third party candidates are no good. while morally on the high ground in comparison, they lack initiative and drive.

basically i cannot in godo conscience vote for anyone here. my voice will not be represented no matter who i choose.

and i have thought long and hard on ti too man. just....... no one is good for the country it seems. obama was not good either as we know now, unable to get the congres to work and also that whole tpp debacle being his center stage rather than helping people.

we are plagued by nothing but incompetents.

hi hi

Individually, our actions might not make a large difference, not like a hero in some Hollywood movie. But our actions are compounded for, better or worse, when many people do the same thing. You can't decide for other people though, you can only decide for yourself. It's not an easy place to be, that's for sure, but I encourage everyone to try.

Vote if you can, and do the other things too. There's no silver bullet, no single action that will fix everything, but there is an opportunity to chip in. The difference between a long shot and a self-fulfilling prophecy, is whether or not people try.

Try to make the world a better place. Look inside yourself and recognize that change starts with you. It starts with me. It starts with all of us.

- Judy Hopps :ajsmug:

The title says it all.

I voted early already. It's a privilege to vote when someone is old enough to do so. The opportunity should not be wasted as every effort counts. Now we wait..

I love that 'INSPIRE' poster at the end of the post here. You do that every day on your blogs, Kkat.

I... hate this country. 'Tis the land of unfathomable stupidity.

I voted today, first time, got there early to avoid a mass of people. it got so packed and crazy there ended up being a fender bender right in front of the Fire Department where the polls were held.

I certainly did vote. That being said, I hope it all turns out alright in the end.

This is a fun election.

I think 4290683 has a very valid point, as much as it pains me to say. I don't agree with him, but I think he offers a mindset a lot of our fellows have in this country. People feel they aren't being listened too.

And that's what I think we should do in the coming years, and God knows I've tried to, or at least have on here with other people. I think we should all find others we don't agree and actually listen to their points of view then merely shout and bluster. And its whats needed now more then ever if we're to face what's coming:fluttershysad:

This is literally a repeat of how and why Andrew Jackson was elected. Love him or hate him the Internet is showing how powerful it truly is.

This election was just about perfect for highlighting problems with our voting system, with one candidate practically anointed by their party and the other party so out of touch with their base that a dark horse candidate took over.

A move from a first past the post voting system to an instant runoff voting system would be much more representative and likely give us better candidates.

Oh I voted all right. The problem is I think I voted for the wrong person than who you wanted me to vote for.
P.S., most of the people telling me to vote have told me to vote for Hillary Clinton, so.... you know.

You americans are pretty boned...
Remembers how Spain is also in the NATO
And so are we...

This may be coming later on, though I didn't exactly vote for a major presidential candidate, I did vote for local issues in my city and state.

Weird Al would be a better debate moderator than anyone Hillary could ever pay to have put in place.
