Trivia Murder Party · 8:51pm Nov 3rd, 2016
Discovered this game over the weekend because a lot of streamers were playing it (because Halloween). It's a horror-comedy trivia party game from the folks who came up with Drawful, Quiplash, and the like. But most importantly for the purposes of this blog post, its soundtrack is amazing, especially during the final round. Seriously, I just spent a good portion of my workday listening to this song on repeat.
Huh. I always kept forgetting to look up what Jackbox Games got up to after they stopped producing new entries in the original, numbered You Don't Know Jack series... now I know.
(YDKJ is the original comedy party game. I had the first two as a kid and, nowadays, I highly recommend the classic bundle (9 games) when it comes on sale for $10 or $5.)
Here's the Game Grumps playing a much more recent console entry in the series (the reboot they released in 2011 after an 8-year hiatus). It's been adapted for PS3 but the humor style is the same all the way back to the original Windows 3.1 release in 1995 and the format is very similar.
(The PC versions let you pick from multiple questions each round, rather than expecting you to pick an "episode" at the beginning of a session the way the version in the video does. Also, the Jack Attacks in the PC versions I own have the money tick down as time passes, making them more balanced.)
Imagine if the stars of the 1st, 4th and 5th generations ever got themselves into this situation.
It could be a perfect story to listen from scribble around halloween.
