"Twilight Sky Over Canterlot" coming to FIM-Fic · 4:10am Sep 14th, 2012

I'm working studiously away on converting "Twilight Sky Over Canterlot" so it has a permanent home on this site. Doing this has probably been my most-requested action for several months now. For those of you who are not familiar with it, it's a story that was posted to Equestria Daily in April 2011, sort of in the very middle of the first major Brony boom. I believe it was the longest ponyfic in first-person at the time, clocking in around 30 pages in an era before ponfiction was stretching to novel length (imagine!).
It's sort of gotten a reputation as one of the white whales of the pony world. I'm not sure that's deserved, but in the process of formatting it back out for this site, I've been impressed both by the healtfelt nature of the story, its ambition in an era when pony fiction was still fairly simple and straightforward, and how strongly it models the values of the show while still being a work of literature that just wouldn't be possible in the show's 30 minute format.
I hope this gives everypony who missed it a chance to reconnect to what has become a pretty (in)famous fanwork. I'm frankly just relieved that it still holds up so well, tens of thousands of bronies, millions of words, and a season and a half later. I still think it's pretty good. I hope you will, too.

Excited to read it! I kept saying I would get around to it but never did.
Sounds like an enticing read. Never heard of it, then again I only started watching the show half way through season one, and it was half way through season two when I started trying to get involved more in the comunity. There is a lot of stuff from the 'Golden Era' that I missed.
I'm looking forward to it. TSOC was one of the first really good ponyfics I read, and it has colored my perception of Canterlot ever since.

I loved this fanfic so much when I first read it and it's well worth another read.

Oh snap, if this is what I think it is this story was a favorite of mine and really informed a lot of my own headcanon about the show. Gotta read.
