    Oh, look, a chapter

Oh, hey, I actually managed to squeeze out a chapter with the usual strategy of "pulling an all-nighter with bloodymindedness and chocolate." And I actually kinda like it.

Apologies to Letedwend for not showing it to him first, since he's actually the pre reader and all.

    Okay, that didn't work

Very well then. First of all, I am very sorry. I really wanted to get it done, but it was a bit harder than expected. The thing is, I need to move on from establishing conflict, and start working towards resolutions, and I'm not really sure how to handle that. I really need to expand my skill sets, which means that progress so far has been way slower than I want it to be.

    Let's do this. Again.

I got a laptop with high speed internet on my desk, a Red Bull and chocolate bar in my hand and a Discworld novel fresh in my memory. From my lips to God's ears, there will be a new chapter of Dude, We're Ponies in the next 24 hours.

The people at Equestria Daily are rather cool people

I take it that, whoever might be reading fanfiction about a girly cartoon series must be some kind of 'internet person'. As an internet person, you are probably familiar with Duke Nukem Forever, and you may have heard how some stores accepted ten year old pre-orders, basically giving the game away for free because they were just that nice. That kind of thing sort of happened to me just now.

Chapter eight delayed, come back Wednesday. · 9:43pm Sep 3rd, 2012

So, yeah, I got a totally good excuse.

So, I have a pretty large family, you know? My father has ten siblings, all of them married, all of them at least two kids. Quite a few indeed, and yesterday was the big family reunion, organized by a city-dwelling branch.

Now, I'm not too good with large groups, so once the formalities are done with the adults, I look for excuses for not having to talk about the many ways my life currently sucks for about a dozen times. Yesterday, as usual, that excuse ended up being looking after and playing with the younger children.

Now, see, my family are traditionally farmers (dairy farming, no apple orchards, I'm afraid), and most of my uncles and aunts are still in the family business, so to speak. Now image having to look after six small kids, who are used to having entire fields to play around, and who now have to stay out of trouble on a typical city playground. Let's just say that my job involved quite a bit of active participation in order to keep them all within sight of their parents, despite my physical constitution being more suited towards sitting behind a screen and typing silly stuff.

Long story short: I couldn't work on the update yesterday, I was busy with other stuff today, and I'm neither in the mood nor shape to pull another all-nighter.

I'll have it done Wednesday 10 PM (GMT+1), but for now, I wish you a good night.

In other news: opening of the new Doctor Who season wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. Let's hope that the rest of the season is a bit better.

That sounded like incredible fun! :pinkiecrazy:

333832 Oh, it was, it always is. I only get to see those kids once or twice a year, but it's always amazing to see how much they've grown since the last time. In addition, the way they look up to their big cousin is quite endearing. Probably gave me some material, even.

I'd probably make a good elementary school teacher, if I were a responsible adult.

Yeah, I wasn't quite taken with that season starter either.
One thing in particular that got me was the lack of reaction that Amy and Rory had to being abducted. They essentially poker-faced the whole 'wake up on a Dalek ship' thing and then dropped straight into the asylum alongside the Doctor. Sure, they might be used to this kind of crazy shit happening by now, but the way they handled it just didn't feel right somehow.
But at least it's pretty much guaranteed that the next one will be awesome. Do you know why?
Because 'Dinosaurs on a spaceship!', that's why.

It may not make sense, but I hate and like family reunions at the same time. I usually only have a good conversation with one or two people, even though my family is on the larger side.
