There will be a Part 9 of Much Ahoof, + an Epilogue! · 10:48pm Sep 1st, 2012
Hi everyone! 
I noticed that there's been a little confusion about a comment I made under Part 8 of Much Ahoof About Nothing. There WILL be a Part 9 and then a much-shorter Epilogue after that to bring everything to an appropriate close.
Also, apologies for the little dive into the SAD tag that the story has taken. 
The climax of the story was supposed to come out in a single part, which would have measured the drama out a little bit better - Part 9 has the lion's share of the laughs and heart-warming moments. It's a prime example of the ol' Butterscotch tone-shift (which caused so much consternation in The Party Hasn't Ended when it first came out), but rest assured that it's a temporary one, and one that is necessary for the story. Just remember:
The night is always darkest right before the dawn.
I will say no more! Except to say that you won't be waiting a month for part 9. It's mostly written, but it needs a lot of smoothing around the edges, and real life looks like it will give me the time to do it for once!

I just hope that you won't keep us waiting for as long! Although I can understand If you can't promise that.

I don't mind the sad so much, as the fact that it was so sudden... there was very little to indicate that there was anything sad, and nothing at all of Celestia's sadness.
If it all ends happily then great, but I still feel like there should have been at least a few more hints.
328712 Wouldn't that, however, give you a very good idea of how well the mask is constructed? Celestia, though, I think may be a bit wrong in removing the memories.
She's also wrong in the belief that love is only a weakness. It is equal parts weakness and strength.

Good to hear all that. Hope to see those lose ends like Pinkie and Spike being possibly shipped, Rarity being punished for her meddling, and Luna apologizing to Fluttershy tied up.

Hm, I don't mean to jump in where my nose don't belong, but that's what I'm doing so eh. Anyway, I'm not sure about you, but I totally had a hint (many hints, actually) that this story was potentially about to take quite the sad turn. That's in part what made waiting so long for this chapter so friggin hard.
There was plenty of foreboding as Twilight chased after Celestia and came to the guarded door, which the princess had gone through in quite a state, along with Twilight's own anxiety about everything. Plus we're told that whenever sad Celestia goes in, happy Celestia comes out; to me, that just yelled something bad was happening on the other side. Plus I'm pretty certain it was actually mentioned that Twilight felt if she didn't reach Celestia, something irreversible would occur. So I knew that Celestia was up to something that boded poorly for her and Twilight.
What I do give to you is how there wasn't much of a reason for Celestia's actions; it wasn't even hinted at that she saw that moment between Rainbow Dash and Twilight. All we had to go on was that she heard what was in the fake letter, and then she went off by herself. I assumed she saw the kiss or knew of it somehow, but I'll admit, there wasn't much to go off of. So if you were just going by that, then yes, the fact that everything turned out to be so serious would be surprising.
And to be perfectly honest, even if I hadn't picked up on the clues, I'd still be happy with how it turned out--I really enjoy Sadlestia, which I guess sounds bad. But oh well--I'm happy.

Yay! We get to have a scene where Twilight slaps some sense into Celestia! I'm so overjoyed right now that I literally let out a high pitched squeal... that I'm now getting laughed at over.

I found it to be particularly awesome. Please let me know if my taste in fics is indeed rational 
and not extremely poor. For me I found that unlike many "similar" crossover fics, all the character's actions seem well thought out, and things in general make sense. That, and I found it to have just the right amount of dark in it for my tastes. Without further ado, here it is:

Two weeks later I find myself back here.
I don't know how far along you are with the chapter and I don't know how much you've worked on it, and frankly I would forgive you if you haven't written anything at all.
That being said, do you have anything progress or news you could share or perhaps are you going for SURPRISE!!! and just update it without any warning before hand?
