The God(desses) of Olympus - There Goes The Neighborhood · 12:56am Apr 30th, 2016
Well, now I've done it. There Goes The Neighborhood just had the first chapter posted.
I have no idea what originally triggered this story idea, but it dates back to an odd thought/conversation about how much Greek there was in My Little Pony, from pegasi to the tall mountain on which the goddesses made their home, and two totally random brain cells made contact.
What if Olympus and Canterlot are the same thing?
Olympus: lazy gods and goddesses throwing parties and snubbing each other while they look down on the commoners.
Canterlot: Royals, just the same.
I would like to thank my editors for their tireless work at making my dull prose interesting and particularly CherryViolets, who inspired me into actually finishing this after I saw the beautiful picture of Celestia just rocking that toga titled Lady-Princess-Goddess.
I think you'll enjoy this, and you may find it educational too, if you squint a little at the Greek gods and realize just how many differing background stories they had. Also, if you look around in the cracks, you may find a few of our more recognizable residents with bit parts.
That title seems oddly familiar. Can't quite put my finger on it, though...
Seriously, though, it looks like a fun story. I don't have much time for reading, these days, but I'll put it at the top of my list.
3906582 I didn't even think to look. There are >four< of them on the site.
And this is an all-funny, no heart-tugging pure romp through the meadows of humor. Well, maybe a *tiny* bit of heart tugging.
“I was going to make a thunderbolt!” declared the little pegasus colt before the sparkle in his eyes dimmed and his ears drooped back down to the sides of his tiny head. “But I couldn’t even make it spark. How am I ever going to be a big pegasus and carry around your thunderbolts for you if I can’t even make one measly little spark?”
Blasted ponies. Why do they have eyes that big?
