Steam BV Chat This Weekend! · 2:42am Apr 28th, 2016

Haven't really had anything on this in a while, so we're doing it again from 3PM to whenever on Saturday in the Steam BV group!

I'm sure you have questions (like does the guy who was in the Navy know what a hurricane is? Answer: probably more than you ever will), and we've got answers.

See you there!

That's 3pm EST just for clarification.

(like does the guy who was in the Navy know what a hurricane is? Answer: probably more than you ever will),

I saw the strongest Atlantic hurricane in record park itself over Cancun for 72 hours. We then had to reconstruct our economy over the next six months, starting by chopping up our fallen trees, eating roadkill (the hurricane tossed fishes a good 20 km away from the coast) and drinking chlorinated pond scum.
I also saw one class-1 direct hit, and several near misses.

Oh man, I can finally have all my questions answered!

What does one need to be ready for the chat?

That's meant as a sarcastic remark towards a certain class of pampered children that feel they're entitled to everything when they truthfully deserve nothing. No offense intended towards anyone who actually lived through a strike.

Steam, and to ping me, Blue, Flynt or Flash. Our Steam SNs are the same as here.

I will say that I probably won't be awake/available until around 9PM, so you'll probably have better luck with Shin, Blue or Flash. Working a night shift is a bitch sometimes!

Admit it: You're just saying that because it's true.:rainbowlaugh:

Besides, a seaman's experience with a hurricane tends to feel like a roller coaster without seatbelts. I feel for you. The worst I ever experienced (other than a gazzillion crossings through that vomit comet named the Tazman Sea) was when my cruise ship couldn't sail out of the Bay of Akaroa (New Zealand).

Remind me to talk about the tropical cyclone off Australia that we did back when I was a seaman on the USS Ouellet; that was one of the wilder ones.
