    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Birthday Bios: Cheesecake Chase · 3:36pm Mar 1st, 2016

She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s a flying ace!

Two weeks after the eldest CheesePie kiddos, we hop to the youngest, for the simple reason of her birthday being in March (Berry’s isn’t until July, and Rocky’s is in November). Shall we delve deeper into the history of this lanky and aerodynamic pegasus?

That we shall!

In years before, after the accidental conception and birth of Rocky Road, Pinkie had decided that her daughter, Fudge, shouldn’t miss out on having a sister (nothing against Fudge’s twin brother Pizza Pockets and baby Rocky; just another girl would be nice), and convinced Cheese to try for another foal. Their next foal came out a colt (Berry Blast), and it was three more years until they brought their second daughter, Cheesecake Chase, into the world.

With wavy hair and big, blue eyes, she was a pretty little filly that was adored by all four of her older siblings, who gave her the equally cute nickname of “C.C.”. They were surprised that she was a pegasus, which Pinkie explained as her grandmother’s genes showing up in her, like Cheese’s grandmother’s did in Berry, a unicorn. While they were content with the answer, Pizza and Fudge were nervous about what trouble she’d cause once she got her wings going.

Sure enough, she was mischievous, taking advantage of her flight whenever she could. Zipping all around the house, she enjoyed how free she felt when she was off the ground, and just how fast she was. One of her favorite “games” was being chased by members of her family (who all hated it), daring them to try to catch her. She always wanted to keep going; unfortunately, multiple scars prove that there were some obstacles in the house that stopped her.

Her love of flying didn’t wane one bit as she grew older, which had one of Pinkie’s best friends, Rainbow Dash, liking little C.C. a lot. C.C admired Rainbow as well, always amazed by the speed and agility of the colorful Pegasus, and wanted to be as amazing as her. Rainbow was more than happy to teach C.C. how to refine her flight and do some tricks when the then five-year-old filly asked, and to say that Pinkie was okay with it is an understatement.

When she started school, she was oozing confidence and playfulness, always starting games of tag on the playground and getting into any game of ball she could. She also got into a lot of dares. She has raced an earth pony classmate (who used roller skates and was pretty darn fast on them), got her tongue stuck to a frozen pole (Berry zapped her tongue with magic to free her), and flown as high as she could; it landed her in trouble with the teacher for wandering out of the school zone. She was a master at dodgeball, her dodges being a combination of tricks from Dash, some from fellow Rainbow Dash fan Scootaloo, and the goofy dancing she did at home to music played by her mother, father, or sister.

Much like the rest of her siblings, she possesses a “Daddy Sense” that tells her when her father, Cheese, is coming home from a party campaign. Her response is usually to tackle him from whatever altitude she was at the time she sensed him. As much as she enjoyed those tackle huggies, she wished that her father didn’t have to be away so often. After all, he was fun and caring, and his bedtime stories to her were hilarious. She at least had a new trick to show him whenever he came home, and he in turn would ask her to show off during a Ponyville party.

She and her brother Berry were partners in crime when it came to pranking the townsfolk. Their misadventures included releasing puppies into Twilight’s castle, replacing all of the displays in Carousel Boutique with cardboard cutouts of their father, and shooting Berry’s fireworks spell over Sweet Apple Acres to startle the Apple family. They made sure to be careful not to hurt anypony; whenever they did that, Pinkie would scold them.

And they also learned that it wasn’t a good idea to prank their brother Rocky Road, or their cousin Bell Pepper. Rocky turned out to be terrifying when he was angry, and Bell had a tendency of performing headlocks and other holds on ponies sneaking up on her.

Had her sister Fudge been closer to her in age, they probably wouldn’t have gotten along very well. But, being sixteen years older, Fudge was more or less another mother to her, and was always there to listen to things that C.C. was not comfortable telling their mother or Rainbow.

They had their moments where they drove each other crazy, with Fudge sometimes being a naggy big sister and C.C. having a habit of not listening. Of course, as an adult, Fudge was very reliable and mature, and had a gentle silliness that always had C.C. being comfortable, even when she wasn’t in the mood for anypony else. In turn, when Fudge had married and become a mother, C.C. was happy to watch the baby and did a good job of it.

Her cutie mark appeared when she first performed her signature trick, the Upside Down Tornado. It involved spinning in high speeds in a downward spiral, and then shooting up through the bottom of the funnel to bring it to the top in order to have dust chasing after her and clouds spinning around her until she brought the bottom to the top, ending up creating fireworks out of the dust and clouds. It was difficult for her to get right, with forcing the bottom of the funnel to go upward being tricky, the wind stopping at any moment, and sometimes the tornado would get out of her control and go on a rampage through town. She was thankful when she finally got it under control, and was pumped when Rainbow Dash pointed out her cutie mark.

Her preteen years were full of awkward lankiness. What was once a short and spunky filly had turned into this weird, gangly thing. She punched those that poked fun at her for it, and worried about how long legs would affect her talent. However, Berry turned out to be just as awkwardly lanky as she was, and while she couldn’t beat him in height (though she did beat her mother, sister, and brother Rocky Road), their tall and thin nature turned from something that made them a bit unsightly to something that made them beautiful adults (at least C.C.; Berry is forever awkward).

Her teenage years were spent with, aside from flight practice, hanging out at her eldest brother’s pizzeria with friends (or by herself, just to joke around with Pizza Pockets), writing her father or brother Berry (who had left to be the apprentice for The Great and Powerful Trixie), or her favorite thing, babysitting nieces and nephews (Fudge’s, Pizza’s, and Rocky’s kids). Each of them always like to climb on their aunt and go for a flight, be subject to tickle fights with her, or have her be the villain of their “cowspy” games. She also inherited her Dad’s tendency for funny bedtime stories.

She considered applying for the Wonderbolts when she turned eighteen, which many of her friends and family encouraged her to do. While she thought it’d be cool to be part of such a well-known flying team, another part of her just wanted to be free. She wrestled over the decision, trying to decide between the two. Part of her worried that her lanky frame just didn’t fit the aerodynamics of the team.

When she asked Rainbow Dash about it, the older Pegasus told her that her body type didn’t matter, as long as her wings were in good shape and she was agile. She pointed out that Bulk Biceps was at the Academy when she was there: C.C. was looking pretty good compared to that. In fact, why doesn’t she use it to her advantage instead of worrying about it?

And so C.C. joined the Academy. She wasn’t quite expecting the military-like atmosphere, but she soon got used to it. She hated that she couldn’t pull any mischief there, though, and she was often yelled at in harsher tones than an angry Rainbow Dash did.

Still, she keeps on going, eagerly flying toward the destiny life has in store for her. Her parents, siblings, friends, and mentor are very proud of her.

It warms my heart to see that cowspies live on in future generations. C.C. seems to have a bright future ahead of her. You know, more than she already is in the future relative to most stories. :derpytongue2:
