Hey guys!
I had this strange, nostalgic urge to run back over here and look around. Damn this site has changed a fair bit in the last... 43 weeks since I last popped in.
So, what's up?
Hey guys!

So, what's up?

Hey welcome back!

Good to be back!
How are you?
Ayyyy, look who isn't dead.
Awesome! Always nice to see unexpected signs of life.
He does exist! You blipped out without a word for so long, I was beginning to wonder if I hallucinated our conversations.
I really liked of Challenges and Kisses. Also I still remember the last time Of Steam Gears and Wings was updated...
Well, lots of 12 year olds flooding the site from Equestria girls. Um, lots of writers quitting because "they're too old for ponies" and generally not much else.
Well I'll be damned, look who rises like Faustus from Perdition.
...Raven's back?
3766937
For all you know I might be a zombie. Maybe.
3766941
I too, enjoy my heartbeat!
3767006
Your memory is better than mine. That's actually the story that brought me back here (of Steam, I mean) I was trying to remember some things about it.
3767014
So... a tsunami of kids? That sounds horrible! All the little body bits floating about. Nasty.
3767021
like whom from where? Also, hey Wulfy! Been a while.
3767039
Pinkie Pie music is definitely one of the bigger things that I've missed.
3766949
Staple!
Damn I've missed you bro.
How is everything?
3767197
Oh, you know, contemplating if I'm good enough to write, then not writing for months, then feeling guilty for leaving the readers hanging, only to loop back around to the contemplation again. It's an endless cycle.
3767196 Faustus as in Dr. Faust and Perdition is where he went!
The joke being that Faust sold his soul so he would obvs never appear again and yet poof you were there.
I'm surprised. I do hope things have been well. To answer your question in the initial post, all kinds of things. I finished a story longer than the LOTR and learned that Faulkner wasn't kidding when he said finishing a novel is like taking your favorite kid out back and shooting them. It's very depressing.
But coffee makes everything better.
I've completely lost my muse and haven't written anything in over a year. I'm attempting to stay active in the fandom and on this site by turning myself into something of the "Wal-Mart Greeter" of the site, but even that is getting tedious.
Wow man! Good to see you again. I was seriously concerned for your health over the last several months. As for me just trying to slowly get caught up on my Read Later list and working a lot the rest of the time. Waiting for the hiatus to end for season 6.
It's been forever since I've seen you around, not that I'm around much myself. Still, it's really good to hear that you're still kicking! Working with you and your team seems about the only productive thing I've ever done on this site, so I'm glad you're still willing and able to pop back in every now and again. It gives one hope that it is possibly to go back and rekindle relationships and interests and whatnot. Out of curiosity, how has your muse fared these past few eons?
3767288
Yes, but going in circles is quite a bit of fun, isn't it?
And if my memory serves (and it always does, though not well) your writing was good enough a year or so ago. I can't imagine you doing anything but improving in the intervening time.
3767331
May Caffeine watch over us all.
3767396
Well, walt-mart greeters ARE usually crotchety old men. I think you'd fit the bill.
Joking aside, I know what you mean. Besides a bit of editing on the side ad a few forays into short stories, my own muse has slipped away as well.
Maybe we can go muse hunting later. I heard a bit of brandy and bawdy jokes work well to lure any passing muse.
3767912
The muse isn't dead, but she's on life support.
I remember a few long nights editing with you and the gang. I have to say those were some of the best times in my life. It's memories of that strange relationship and the fight to improve that made me come back here. I really do miss it.
RAVEN!
Hi!

Webby!
Hi
Hey there, Ravens. Since you strolled off into the ether, I became an EQD prereader and then promptly became too busy to do it effectively, let alone write. Also, you've missed a season or two, yeah?
Haha, damn RD. I just did the exact same thing a week ago. I was looking around at your old stuff in a nostalgic sort of way just last friday. What writing stuff have you been up to? I'm missing your work, man.
3769159
More like three and a movie.
So if that's what you were, what are you up to now?
3769308
Not too much, unfortunately. Just been puttering about with a few things. Nothing wonderful.
3769483
Still that. This is more of an ongoing busyness, finally closing out sometime next month. Then I'll have six months of a position at a game studio—which'll actually likely be less work than what I've got going on now—and then it's back to being really busy.
3769531
Ohh, game studio. That sounds mildly interesting. What're you going to do there?
3769485 That's a serious shame, hom. If you ever get into it again let all of us on fimfic know!
3769605
Programming, mainly. I might be involved in the general design, as well, depending on how things go. Likely no writing, sadly—the games at this studio don't seem to focus much on story. Kind of a 'serious games' place. Social issues and training-related stuff. Which probably makes it sound a lot more boring than I actually expect it to be, but hey.
Raven,
I'll see you soon, man! Check your email!
- Nova
Hey man, it sure has been a while. And you're right, the site HAS changed.
Their stupid message box is still at the bottom, though. God damn it, people.
So I know I'm super late to the party but I too dropped off the site for a few weeks. So you still around or no? Because I have been missing Of Steam for quite some time. That was actually tbe Fanfic that kept me in the fandom this long I think. I joined around the middle of Season 3 but my first MLP Fanfic was My Little Borg but the first real one I think was Anthropology. Of Steam however was so exquisitely crafted that I was immediately drawn in. Not many have stood up as well as Of Steam however.
