I'm a lemur of many horrible habits.
Be it the disgusting way I eat...
Or the copious amounts of Dr. Pepper that I ejaculate down my neckhole....
Or the unhealthy degree to which I expose my sociopathic id to the marsupial alumni...
However, one of the worst habits I've developed as of late is utter laziness and selfish lethargy in updating my daily fics. I mean, fudge, they're still technically "daily," and I always make up for a missed post with a corresponding double-post. But... meh. Y'all deserve better.
Yesterday, I allowed myself a "day off," under the assumption that I'd have the entire day afterwards to do a double-upload. Alas, real life happened, and I ended up (gasp!) working instead. So... that's my excuse for that.
I know this may seem trivial to y'all, and in time I will probably just give up blarghing apologies for when I miss future scheduled uploads (especially since I have a habit of compensating for them swiftly). But to me, it's a very important aspect of this... thing that I've become on this moist little horse niche of the Internet. And I do mean it when I say that y'all deserve better. Sooner than later, you might understand why, but that's a blargh for another time.
To all my Appledashery readers, please accept two chapters for January 31st and February 1st.

I know that I promised two of them today, but... they're going to be heavy chapters, and at the moment I'm planning to get them both knocked out tomorrow... unless of course I get called in again (f'naaaaaa... real life; can you believe it?). One way or another, one of these next few days is going to produce a double-chapter post. My apologies once again.
Now that I've got that anal-retentive nonsense over with...

It can't be Applejack and Rainbow Dash, because if it hasn't happened yet in over 800K words, there's no reason to believe it'll ever happen.

Also, AJ and Dash are the first. Bacon Hair and Science Nerd need to do lots of blushing and stuttering before they can kiss. If they can even do it in front of their friends without Sci-Twi passing out from embarrassment. For Rainbow, that would probably be a thing of pride. She has to show she has the moves and confidence.

As for the topic of update schedules, I'm reminded of my RL friend, who's really been turning his health around in terms of diet and exercise. For him, the success really came not from massive "H'OKAY HERE IS PROBLEM, WE FIX NAU" sweeping changes, but small incremental changes that could be sustained. In that regard, you've already got an amazing work ethic already, so you don't need sweeping changes; rather, what you want are incremental improvements to make yourself more reliable, more focused, etc. So I'd say, take the winning formula you already have, and try small tweaks. Maybe Appledashery needs different mood-lighting in the writing cave than Austreoh does. Maybe you want to adhere to 7 updates in 7 days, but work better queuing up a line of chapters over a weekend rather than reopening every fic every day. Experiment, see what works and what doesn't.
But whatever, we both know there's something much more important to discuss.
It's important that we consider the personalities of all four ponies here, in order to reach our conclusion.
Rainbow Dash has her pride and ego to think about here. She's the classic "y'know what would be hilarious, if you and me just like TOTALLY made out in front of everyone hahaha I'm just joking no homo but like maybe let's do it??!?" And the
manemain issue (I'm not being cute, that was a legit typo, FML) is that Applejack would normally eat up that dere-dere side of RD's act. Except. Assuming that we're talking about a Mane Seven sleepover, I see her having reservations about hooking up with one of the gals, even if they ran off to the closet for some Seven Minutes of Heaven. She's got the whole chivalrous thing going on, and anything above snuggles at a public event is gonna be an uphill struggle that RD just doesn't have the bravery for. Now, if this is not a Mane Seven sleepover, and rather it's just RD crashing at Sweet Apple Acres for the evening, and the CMC are having a sleepover at Rarity's... suddenly it's a completely different equation.Sadly, on the other side of the fence, it's not even fair. Sci-Twi has all of S1 Twi's naive, waif-like tendencies. If offered sloppy makeouts, she's immediately all "gosh, ehehe, should we? [plays with hair] I-I mean, I've never kissed a boy before, let alone... umm..." And meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer is a BAMF of a wolf who gets exactly what she wants. It wouldn't even be fair.

You are one of the few authors who don't need to apologize for an unexpected break; hell, you should probably take more of them, your brain could prolly use the rest.

Yeah, I have to agree with the others. Sunset and Sci-Twi. They do like doing experiments (that's how they'd justify it to themselves, anyway). AJ and RD are too prideful to do such a thing at a slumber party.
Probably Bacon and Science, yes. Twi would be immensely flustery until something inside her just tells her "DO IT!", she scrunches up courage, and plants a big one on Sunset's lips, taking her completely by surprise. Sunset might've been thinking it but would want to plan it out some - then bam, this happens.
Otherwise, Dash would do it first if she was challenged to do so in some way... only to be preempted by AJ who wanted to beat Dash at it :D

I'll be honest, I was a little let down about it. And then I shrugged it off and thought, meh it's skirts. he'll be back in 24 hours, and if not, he'll have an explanation. Lo and behold, here we are.
Seriously Skirts, when life happens, life happens. You've proven more than reliable, and you've more than earned our trust. Heck, if you had a patreon, I'd jump at the chance to throw money in it. And that's something I have yet to do for anyone.
Also, Sci twi and Sunset. RD/AJ would get close, and then pinkie would sporadically appear for no reason and startle them out of it.

My reasoning?
RD has all spent of Appledashery hunting for snuggles. Meanwhile Sunset only needed a one-shot for shipping to succeed.
Anything could happen. Rainbow Dash and AJ are adults, for them it would be a little less awkward. They are two big dorks, but maybe if a gay chicken challenge is involved, it could happen just as the reunion starts.
Sunset is really embracing her second youth, but still may at first consider a teenager half her actual age to be off-limits (Flash Sentry doesn't count, screw Flash Sentry).
But if alcohol is involved, and she hasn't been testing the drink limits of her new body, she could drink more than she should, and anything could happen.No need to apologize.
I could care less who AJ is paired with as long as she's happy.
Also, you mentioned something important in your last blog...Maybe about being able to afford that Texas sweet stuff...?

I bet his concern is that if he takes too long, he'll forget to update period. However, that's not to say he'd stop writing. He'd just steadily amass giant words of words over the course of a year or three until he remembers, 'I didn't the thing'.
