    Friendship is Magic: the Musical

So I've been trying to find ways out of my recent funk, and this was one of the most recent attempts. I thoroughly enjoyed the freshman season of Hazbin Hotel, particularly the outstanding musical numbers and how the whole season could, with just a few small modifications, be made into a Broadway style stage musical.

So I figured hell, why not do the same with Friendship is Magic?

    Our Last Anniversary

I've been radio silent on social media since my now ex-wife and I announced our split. A few days ago, I was moved to write this and post it on Facebook. Figured I might as well post it here as well.

    Folks say it's pretty good.

    State of the Author 2023

    It's bad.

    Real bad.

So it should come as no surprise that my wife and I are divorcing. We're having to take it slow because she's so close to the end of her degree and I want her to be in a good place to help take care of our boys. We're still co-habitating, still friends.

    New Story Incoming

It's taken years. Multiple plot revisions. The complete scrapping of "Silent Night." More false starts than I'm okay admitting. And, ultimately, it took the collapse of the life as I've known it to drive me into the mindspace necessary to find this lost child in the wilderness and finally bring her home.

I hope the wait has been worth it.

Some Updates and THE FIRST CONTEST OF 2016 · 9:01am Jan 23rd, 2016

-Hope you enjoyed 'A Girl Walks Home Alone at Midnight.' You can probably expect more small stories like that down the road. They take me back to my early writing days.

-I'm also enjoying writing 'Letters from War.' That's why that's been updating regularly.

-Updates on 'Changelings' and 'Victory Lap' are still on the way. It's all a matter of timing.

-'Tell-Tale Horn' will be popping up sooner rather than later. That whole shorter, smaller stories thing.

Now, without any further build-up...

THE VALENTINE'S DAY CONTEST OF LOVE AND SMOOCHES AND THINGS 2016!

I love Valentine's Day and I love romance. Most of you know that already. This double-sided contest will test your own creativity as well as critiquing skills!

Part 1
-Those of you with a writing passion for writing must write a single scene of romance featuring a pair of the following characters. I won't fault you if you use an established couple, but bonus points will be awarded for crack-shipping creativity.

You may choose two of the following;

Luna
Shining Armor
Cadance
Celestia
Spike
Rarity
Crescendo
Tom the Rock
Applebloom
Sweetie Belle
Scootaloo
Rainbow Dash
Applejack
Fluttershy
Pinkie Pie
Caramel
Big Macintosh
Cheerilee
Dimmy
Button Mash
Golden Haze
Brother Veritas
Twilight Sparkle
Feather Duster
The Slender One
Jade Ring
Swirling Line (Sorry, Swirling)
Grogar
Belial
Granny Smith

Each scene must be at least 100 words but no more than 500. YOU MAY SUBMIT HOWEVER MANY YOU LIKE and USE CHARACTERS MULTIPLE TIMES. Points will be awarded for creativity, how the story makes me feel, and how many times I go AWWW or HAHAHA.

The three winners will have their stories posted on the Blog (and maybe an actual published story if they like) and will get to read 'Dear Dinky Hooves' before anyone else.

PART DOS!

This one's a bit more like previous contests. Answer the following questions. Doesn't matter how long.

1. Who is your favorite couple in the Continuity? Why? What's your favorite moment?

2. Who is your least favorite couple in the Continuity? Why? What's your least favorite moment?

The three top ones there will get to read a very special Valentine's scene between their favorite couple.

Your deadline is February 7! Remember to Message me your submissions.

Good luck!

Awww yeah! Contest time! -cracks knuckles-

I'm definitely going to be sending you some scenes -- I've been wanting to write some romance and this is a great excuse!

Although 500 words is tremendously short for my wordiness, I'm certain I can temper it and make the most of each one!

3716396 I mean, I'm not gonna be counting words terribly closely.
