Hey guys, it's that time of year again! The magical nondenominational holiday of Jinglemas, the one time we can all set aside our differences and listen to the radio play a line-up of holiday songs that hasn't changed in fifty years. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we at Fimfiction.net would like to say Merry Jinglemas to all of you. We're a little late with the blog this year, having hoped to post it on Jinglemas Eve, but in the spirit of Jinglemas we hope you forgive us for that.
Even ponies are in the Jinglemas mood!
Now it's time for another classic Jinglemas tale, so gather round the Jinglemas fire and let's all listen.

'Twas the night before Jinglemas when all through the plane,
not a creature was stirring,
not even New York City Police Detective knighty McClane;
The stockings were hung o'er the site with care,
as knighty's flight landed and he arrived there;
The users were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of Sugar Belle danced in their heads;
And Meeester in his 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just stopped approving stories for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
infamous Fimfiction user Hans Gruber and his dastardly team of terrorists-atter
They went to our mailbox and stole all the postage,
Then broke the door open and took us all hostage.
They held Human in Equestria fics to my head,
Flashed an OC Alicorn and suddenly said,
"We have one demand to which you must adhere,
You'll send all our fics to the Featured Box, clear?"
Then what to my wondering eyes did arise,
But one Luna plushy and eight Fluttershys,
Held by a Brit so regular and plain,
I knew in a moment he must be New York City Police Detective knighty McClane.
More rapid than eagles his plushies they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, Fluttershy! now, Fluttershy! now Fluttershy and Fluttershy!
On, Fluttershy! on, Fluttershy! on, Fluttershy and Fluttershy!
So up to the housetop the plushies they flew
With New York City Police Detective knighty McClane too—
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As the terrorists threatened us with OC alicorns,
Down the chimney came a chair and a block of C4.
yippee ki yay, chaps
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of plushies he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
Out from his sack he pulled a machine gun,
Which he put right back, to keep this blog rated Everyone.
The stump of a cigarette he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath;
He was probably British, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And banned all the terrorists; then turned with a jerk,
Then he turned around, looking rather annoyed,
Muttering about finishing Fimfic's app for Android.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his plushies gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove off the site—
“Merry Jinglemas to all, and to all a good night!”

Since it got brought up in the post I'd like to ask; Why are people so against alicorn OCs?
I haven't read any fics that feature them, and I have no ideas for a fic that does. But should I ever write one I would like to avoid making any bad mistakes.

Not that that's a bad thing. Heavens no. You just need to keep in mind that that's what you're writing.
3642300 Eh, not really interested in writing such blatant crack fics. Don't get me wrong there are crack fics that are actually very good, but I have gotten to the point where I mostly want to write real stories that grab your attention because of the story not the gags.
So for me to write an OC alicorn fic, it would have to be an actual character instead of a pony that I slapped a horn and wings on.

No bad news about the site on Hearth's Warming Eve this year? I'm disappointed. Not.

Not much reason. Apparently, some people read a few bad Alicorn OC fanfics somewhere during the dawn of the fandom and for a reason I don't understand, developed a feeling of hatred against Alicorn OCs in general, no matter how well the fic is written, and they vented their anger about Alicorn OCs and "explained" why they are bad, resulting in it that more people began to think that way and authors who wanted to write Alicorn OCs backed away from doing that because of feeling intimated, which is probably the reason why you barely find Alicorn OC fanfics today.
Now there is a majority of bronies who hate Alicorn OCs and who give every author who writes a story about an Alicorn OC immediately flak for it. Twilight becoming an Alicorn probably made it worse.
But that shouldn't intimidate you. If you want to write a fic with an Alicorn OC, don't hesitate. You can write what you want in your fics and people who believe you write fics solely for their entertainment have no right to tell you what to write.
