Sunday, I submitted a silly one-shot story inspired by a typo in another story I read here.

Monday, I responded to a blog post on the League of Extraordinary Gentlecolts experiment, mentioning how hard it is to get noticed when stories don't get featured or even make an appearance in the sidebar of popular stories.

Tuesday before work, I saw Applejack's Bar was #11 in the queue. It was #1 in the queue at the start of the workday. Then it was posted.

I saw my first appearance in the sidebar. :yay:

Then I saw my first appearance in the feature box. :yay: :yay:

And over the course of the day, I got more views than I've received for all the rest of my stories combined, more comments, more favorites.

Now I've spend several hours in the number one position in the favorite box. :yay: :yay: :yay:

It is now clear to me the readers want more stories about ponies and alcohol.

Thank you, everypony. I enjoyed writing the story, and I'm glad so many of you enjoyed reading it.

What's next? Unfortunately, an extended time period with intermittent Internet access. I'll make sure to finish up An Understanding Heart before that, and I'm planning on posting the first in a longer series in early September.

And if there's an artist willing to draw a sextet of foals for a fair price, contact me.

Meanwhile, I'm going to celebrate with a glass of applejack. :ajsmug:
