I've always wanted to learn Russian, just so I would be able to read Dostoyevsky (whom I consider to be one of the greatest writers who ever lived), and maybe Tolstoy (who writes entertaining stuff, I guess), in their original words (Crime and Punishment, The Brother Karamazov, Notes from Underground, The Double, and Notes from the Dead House are all excellent, but I've had to read them in English, and I've always felt as if I were missing out on something). So now I, thanks to this translation, can vicariously live out my dream of being a connoisseur of Russian prose (at least till Duolingo finally gets its Russian course).

Interesting thing to note about this translation: Russian, instead of blocking off spoken dialogue with quotation marks as is done in English, introduces dialogue with the em-dash ("—"), just like in Spanish and French (and I'm sure in many other languages). Meaning that my deliberate use of the em-dash to set off dialogue in the flashback scenes and then switch into standard quotation marks for the present, isn't apparent in the Russian translation (or so I think).

God, I really wish I could appreciate this translation more. So, if it's worth anything coming from a Russian illiterate, thank you, again, my full thanks be unto you, translators!

EDIT: Love the tag they gave to the story, "Angst." Yup, the translation is spot on.
