    Glimpses 2 - Now Complete

Though it was a day late, hopefully, it's not a dollar short. I've posted the final chapter of Glimpses 2! I hope everyone enjoys the last chapter and enjoyed the story as I whole. I would also like to thank everyone that submitted suggestions to my blog about a month ago. The anthology would not have been nearly as interesting without your input!

Lots of News for October · 5:47pm Sep 24th, 2015

I hope everyone enjoyed their summer, and are looking forward to October. I know I am, especially because of the slew of things that will be happening in the next few weeks. I've been super busy, but it's the fruits of my labors are about to be presented for everyone to enjoy.

First, the final two chapters of The Road Home are in the editor's hands. I'll be posting up the chapters as their processed and completed, so hopefully you'll be able to read the completed story within the next few weeks. This story took so much longer and became so much longer than originally intended, but I hope you've enjoyed it all the same. (Or that you're going to enjoy it, if you're the kind of reader that waits until a story is complete.)

Second, there is big news coming from the non-pony side of this author's life. You'll likely remember that I've plugged my company's game, Nevermind, a few times . Well, I'm here to do it again, but this time it isn't just for an early access release or anything like that. Nope, next Tuesday, 9/29/15, a completed Nevermind is going to release for PC and Mac. That's right, the full base game will be available in less than a week. So if you have any interest in it, please go check out the steam page. We intend to add more levels after the base release as well as support for Xbox One and Oculas Rift in the near future, but the core experience is solid and ready to be enjoyed.

Third and finally, tis the season for spook, skeletons, and scary screams. I am looking forward to doing my yearly Halloween story, but my friends, a tragedy has occurred. Inspiration eludes me. I have been having trouble thinking of what to do for this years Nightmare Night fic. Thus, I'd like to probe my reader base and see what ideas you ghouls and gals might be interested in seeing. I can't promise that the story will be based off any provided suggestion, but at the very least I hope that it will get my creative juices flowing.

So what ideas do you have? What horrors would you see me enact upon the cute little equines? Please, leave suggestions in the comments below.

Hmmm, something for Halloween... How about Discord, in one if his bored moods, decides to make Ponyville one giant haunted house? Also, the CMC become creatures of the night just to add some spice to things.

Changelings, haunted house, couples, and maybe some mystery

As for the game work, nice to see a date on it.

I always find solitude to be the scariest thing. Like that episode of Twilight Zone, "Time Enough at Last". And that 2 sentence horror story: "Dave was the last person on earth. There was a knock at the door." I can't stand the thought of being totally, undoubtedly alone. I'd jump off a bridge as soon as I figured it out.

I'd like to see something where the ending reveals that one or more of the protagonists was insane and was the real villain all along. Not like And Then There Were None, more like they actually had a split personality or something and genuinely didn't realize what they were doing.

Celestia and Luna put Chrysalis and Tirek in charge of the nation.

~Skeeter The Lurker

What really freaked me out, was your story Silencing Song, and something dark and of that nature would be nice.

Perhaps something where the reader gets a look inside of Chrysalis's mind, and how she'd destroy the Mane six's spirits by slowly torturing them mentally and physically? You might not know this, but I have a twisted sense of humor.

I've always liked Nyx, so maybe something with her? Such as there are weird things going on and some town ponies start blaming it all on Nyx. Now she must rise above the suspicion, prove her innocence, and save the town! Potentially from Chrysalis' influence/control/invasion/something or other.

Just some random free form thoughts on the subject. Just as long as it doesn't all turn out to be a dream. That plot device always sucks.

-Nyx's first nightmare night!

-We all know Discord can be scary, but what scared the master of chaos.

-What lurks in the old muesuem of Philledelphia

-The ghosts in Sunset Shimmer's closet.

-A forgotten friend of Rarity wants revenge

if you haven't read it, I'd check out My little A. I. by teamidris I really enjoyed the subtle subversion of trying to create a better world while dooming all the inhabitants of the current one.

I often take inspiration from the ideas of other authors. else-wise I would never have researched the term oryctolagusian...

I've been reading H. P. Lovecraft. I always find those types of stories hair raising.

I say do something with no regret. Write a grimdark with Nyx and the gang, but don't make it cannon. Allow yourself to molest, maim, and murder anything you want without restraint.

Now I realize that sounds kind of brutal and you don't actually have to write a gore fic or anything, but I think you could use some creative freedom to jump start some ideas. So, no cannon means not having to spend countless hours wasting brain power, trying to figure out how to make the story fit into your current universe, or having to create hero logic to allow main characters to live, and lessen the horror element.

This story took so much longer and became so much longer than originally intended

Man, do I ever relate to that feeling!!! :twilightoops:

Original thought: "Oh, I'd love to write a heartwarming adventure/war story of Nyx as a young adult".
Result: "Epic of Gilgamesh plus Homer's Iliad for ponies". :facehoof:

How about a pony version of Nevermind?

SQA

I've got an idea! A skeletal pony begins to haunt the foals of ponyville and beyond. At first twilight is dismissive, believing it to be a standard "monster under the bed" scenario, until she sees it with her own eyes. Deciding its probably just a lost soul in need of a friend she attempts to use the standard "make friends with X" approach. All seems to be going well, until the disappearances begin. Things only proceed downhill from there as Mr. Skeletal makes sure all the ponies get their Calcium.

Continue in the Depths line - after all, the story does end with the book still present.

I would suggest something like some other pony falls under Tirek's sway, and in turn he subverts Celestia/Luna. More transformation and body horror. That ending - that was terribly chilling when just what the reveal of what Shining found was, exactly, and more of that - even closer to success next time - would be a fright to read.

I don't know if anything has ever been done with the Headless Horse or the Pony of Shadows, but those two have always intrigued me. Especially the idea of a ponified Sleepy Hollow.

I want to second the suggestion for something inspired by Lovecraft, [and|or|combined with] the "Nyx's first Nightmare Night" idea.

What bout a story from a view of an unknown character from old times. that might follow up or be somehow intertwined with he main Equestria history.

This sounds a bit plain, doesnt it ? x)
