Recently, I purchased a PS4, in anticipation of playing the latest installment of Disgaea 5, among other things. This is how I learned that the PS4 has software that apparently enables streaming, and I must admit that the idea of using my Twitch account for something other than participating in chats is somewhat intriguing. Of course, at the moment, I lack any sort of headset that I could use for communication, mostly because I don't play multiplayer games. If any of you has advice on what I should look for, I'll gladly take it.
P.S. If you were wondering, my Playstation ID is also Kwakerjak.
I'm no expert, but among PlayStation gamers, I think Turtlebeach headsets are generally quite popular. I can't speak to their efficacy, however, as I don't personally own a pair. I use Razer Carcharias, but they're more geared (and marketed) towards PC and Xbox use. I don't know how compatible they are with Sony consoles, if at all.
Another option might be a standalone dedicated microphone, but I don't know how applicable that is in a console situation.
M8 if you ever end up playing Destiny I'd be stoked to get down with you for that. Will add tomorrow regardless, though, in case there's anything else that may come about. ID: Sensey2u
3400409 - Probably not Destiny; I absolutely suck at shooters, and as a result, I generally don't enjoy playing them.
Not sure about the PS4, but on the PS3 I've been using the built in mic on the Playstation Move/PS Eye camera and the pack in mic from Karaoke Revolution

The best I ever did at any shooter was playing the FPS version of Shadowrun. In capture-the-flag games, I'd play an elf, pick up a katana and Combat Reflexes (blocking with a melee weapon deflects bullets coming from the front). Run to the enemy flag holding the block button, grab the flag (which counts as a melee weapon), and run back holding the block button.
Yes. The best I've ever done playing a shooter was using a melee weapon and blocking.
I have a really nice pair of ADX headphones that came with an adapter for PS4's. Not only decent quality but incredibly cheap, too. Though I doubt you're going to find some over in North America.

That sounds like several of the missions I've run in Warframe.
Another Disgaea fan. So far that game is the only reason i can think of to get a PS4
I have this Corsair wireless headset. It works perfectly on both my PC and my PS3. I would imagine it works on the PS4 also. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it.
Don't get headset, all of them are all sorts of crap.
Get a good pair of headphones and separate microphone with that. If you're looking for something cheap Superlux has HD 68* line, for $30 you won't find anything better. As for mic you could get Zalman's ZM-MIC1 for like $5, some people criticize it for having trash quality, but I know one streamer who uses it and if that's trash then I don't know what they consider as good.
Also, don't get some fancy 7.1 "gaming headsets". You have 2 ears - you need 2 drivers in your headphones to get directional sound. They're marketed to gamers which quite often don't have a clue about what makes good sound.
3404362 - Uh... according to Amazon, the mic you recommended is a headset.

No it's not.

3406442 - Yeah, it says right at the top that it's a headset microphone.

What I meant by headset is all-in-one microphone+headphones (wiki's definition) like this one what amazon, seemingly, means by headset is "audio set that goes around your head" which is confusing.
What you could do with it though is make DIY headset by placing mic on the headphone wire and you'd have "gaming headset" with actual quality for less money. I'm just trying to save you trouble and disappointment I had to go through with that headset from the picture, it wasn't worth what I paid for it.
I think these guys would explain much better what I'm trying to say : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fD-M1F6L4g
3407669 - Actually, I've already purchased that particular microphone, along with a splitter that will let me use it with a set of headphones I already own. Since PS4 controllers have a headphone jack, pretty much every headphone/headset is effectively wireless, so I'm saving quite a bit of money. Thanks for the recommendation.
