Okay, in the past few days, people have asked me exactly what Claude & Monet is. Well, given that we're rebooting the series in November, I've decided to make it a little easy for you to get a feel of the story:

Over at my DeviantArt page, there's a download of all 127 pages of the series. You can read it there or download. Enjoy!

I'm reading.
BTW: MLP reference in page 55.

:pinkiegasp:
AAG reference in page 122!!!

Final thoughts:

Visual: Generally good manga technique, with perfect work on shading, backgrounds and tech in general, but needs a little more work on far-away perspectives. General very good work on anatomy and clothing, except for often overlarge shoulders and disproportionate heads. Needs more work on facial anatomy, to the point of being distracting. Abuses blank faces, and overuses, to a small degree, manga techniques for visual comedy. Inconsistent speech bubbles' positioning make dialogue hard to follow. Inconsistent technique levels makes me wonder just how much is being picked up from external sources rather than worked by the authors.

Story: Overcomplicated plot, that was probably based at some point on a detailed outline, but has likely forgotten about it between frequent plot twists. Overuses the cliches of the incompetent minion, "fists win over guns", the unlikely escape and the close call.

Conclusions: Graphically, "Claude and Monet" is serviceable, with work needed on the facial technique but nothing really. This work is comparable to the manga "Bt'X", which was professionally published and even popular enough to made into a long anime. The story, on the other hand, twisted itself into a knot. I would read another manga drawn by the authors, as long as somebody else is writing.

Thanks for the review; it's nice to have that on hand. Sorry for the short reply, as I'm on my phone at the moment.

Storywise, we never got far enough to keep going (everything you see is part of the same story arc.) Problem is, we had to bail out during a slow part, and it showed. We are both red faced about that.

We've tweaked a lot for the reboot. Trust me, you didn't note anything that we haven't already decided to change in the relaunch. He'll, Ayne really agrees with your assessment on the shoulders, and I got on her case more than once about blank faces.

Oh, and for the record, I did the writing, lettering, CG and some art. Ayne did the rest, and she's had time to perfect her craft. We know we had a lot to grow with that, and we're hoping the new version will reflect that.

Thanks again!

So uhh...

Yeah I totally know what this is. But, my, uh, friend, wants to know what this is, do you happen to have like a one-sentence description of what's going on?

I mean, I know exactly what's going on, but you know this guy, he's always confused about stuff. Yeah.

We'll go with that.

Free PDF copy of version 1.0 of a webcomic written, lettered and some art by me (my wife did the majority of the art), in anticipation of the reboot in November. Scifi webcomic; has some issues, but we're working out the kinks for the reboot.

Does that help you your friend?

3267574 Ohhhhhhh. Okay, that makes sense. Thanks! I mean, my, uh, friend, says thanks, and that I'm he's going to add it to the list of stuff to read. Which, admittedly, is almost 900 chapters on Fimfic alone.
