Also, I assume Lyra was too busy being tied to some sort of death machine to attend the party. And then Bon Bon swept in on a grappling hook and saved the day.

This episode really caught me by surprise. I legit got misty-eyed. Perhaps one of the best episodes of the whole show, in my opinion. And, while I agree it's a shame that Lyra wasn't included more, after her time in the spotlight in "Slice of Life", I really can't complain.
