Twilight slumped back on her throne in Canterlot Palace. “You know, Spike,” she said, “this isn’t really what I thought ruling Equestria would be like.”
“Oh yeah?” He glanced down at the schedule in his talons. “Your next appointment is in five minutes, by the way.”
Absent from the diagram of course, is my new fic, Jargön, about the pony who discovers her destiny is to open Equestria's first maze-based furniture store.
Naturally, the store will have a competitor in the Minotaur store next door AMazing Furniture.
And oddly enough that shopping centre also hosts a diamond dog home contracting agency Daedalus' Digs as well as a Carousel Boutique franchise haberdashery Ariadne's Threads...
How do I love my own place? Let me count the ways. I love leaving the bathroom doors open to avoid the post-shower haze, And singing aloud to music not knowing what it says, And leaving my clothes in the drier when they're too much work to fold, And turning up the heater whenever I get cold, And sleeping in the living room when working's too much fun, And cursing at my blackboard right up until the sun, And arranging all the furniture for function over form, And hugging my plushy to begin every morn...ing.
But honestly, the best part is having a place where I don't have to hide ponies. And getting to talk to myself out loud without anyone realizing that I'm crazy.
By the way, Simple Human is fantastic for all the persistent-but-miscellaneous things, like trash cans and dish drying racks.

I'm not the only one who does that?

It's not talking to yourself if there's a pony plushie in the room. Obvs. We're not crazy.

Yes! Thank you for the recommendation. I'm still getting equipped and this stuff looks great. :D

Shower music: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KI00FIE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 It connects easily to my [Android] phone, and it's easy to tell when it needs to be recharged (when it starts skipping a little). I now charge it whenever I remember to, which is around once a month, and it hasn't caused me problems for around 8 months now. I usually spend a minute going through my youtube updates in the morning and create a playlist of new music to listen to while getting ready.
Bed Bath and Beyond has really good fast-drying floor matts for stepping out of the shower. I've lined my bathroom floor with them, and I love them. I can't find them online, but I've seen them in every BBaB store I've been in. They're the softest drying matts they have with memory foam.
BBaB also has good wall-stick shower caddys, a good vacuum (Dyson DC65 Animal), good bed/futon covers (go through the bed cover aisle, not the bed set aisle), and good fans (Vornado).
Your drier probably has a low setting. It's good for "ironing" clothes while you get ready in the morning.
Let me know if you find a good futon mattress, lamp, carpet, wet erase marker, bath towels, computer desk, or bed-side table. I'm still looking.
Actually, yes! I did just find a desk that is superb. Right here. I know it looks like flimsy IKEA stuff, but it's actually huge and works really well. The adjustability is cool for when I feel like standing.

I am disappointed by the fact that this does not appear to be an actual fic.
Congratulations!
I will never (or at least not readily) forget the feeling that came over me when Significant Other and I purchased our first flat:
You forgot the naked.
Nice. :)

That sounds delicious. I'm going to come by your place and hang out.

What do you mean "forgot"?
I thought walking around bare tit starkers (or bare bollock depending on your gender) in striped, fuzzy knee-socks was pretty much implicitly implied?
(Just make sure to remember to throw on some pants before you decide to fry up a pan of that delicious, glorious, yummy bacon!)
3185367 You're right, how could I have been so naive?
Congrats on earning a living space for yourself. Now you can spend the next eighty hours writing a masterwork of pony fiction that nobody will read.

Excellent! I'll try the corner version of that desk. That gave me an idea for optimizing my living room.
