Final Remarks · 11:05am Jun 21st, 2015
Ladies and gentleman,
Over three years ago, I started writing the story of Rarity and Graves with the goal of giving them a happily ever after. Yesterday, I met that goal, and so I can finally say with a smile that it's all done. The stories of Graves are finished.
For those of you who have been posting comments and questions since Journey's End, sorry I haven't been responding: I didn't want to accidentally give anything away or ruin the surprise that was coming, so I kept silent until everything was laid out and done. If anyone still has anything they want to ask about the stories, please feel free to drop them here. I'd be more than happy to answer them.
As for everyone who's made it to this point, I just wanted to say once more, thanks for reading. It's taken a very long time to get here, and the series, which has never been very popular to begin with, just kept getting more obscure with each passing week. Still, there were people who kept coming back with every new chapter, people who showered the stories with more love and support than I could ever have expected despite all the terrible cliffhangers I put you through. To those people, I just want you to know that I couldn't have done this without you and that you are all just the absolute best.
Thanks for sharing this trip with me. It's been a wild ride that I wouldn't have missed for the world.
Sincerely,
GentlemanJ
All I can say is that the ride has bin fun.
The only thing that i find sad right now is that these stories don't have the traffic that they truly deserve. This was a magnificent story and i hope you will do more in the wonderful world you have crafted.
Here's to you
For Graves, things are,
<sunglasses>
looking UP.
Now go out and have your own adventure.
3167701 - I agree.
Wishing you well on your next endeavor!
Kudos for three years of great stories!
It's been a blast, man. And they've helped me get through some pretty thick murk, as I've mentioned before. Thanks, and I wish you well in your next endeavor.
Wait, are we at the real end?
Damn, I need to catch up. I've only read chapter one...
Welp, time to sort that out.
I'm going to miss the stories of Graves. I've enjoyed the journey even when it was tough and sad. But I'm immensely happy that you finished the stories. Too many good stories I read take a long time to be written or are never completed. But not with Graves and I am happy for that. Thanks for the trip.
Now I'm just going to sit back and hope that we get the occasional short story about Graves (and Rarity).
It has truly been a great read and it shall go down as one of my personal favorites of all time.
Ever since I stumbled upon the first story in this series it's been my favorite series here on fimfiction. Thank you for the time you spent to give us this series and I hope you continue to write things of a similar caliber (although that'll be quite tough considering how good the journey was).
Goodbye Graves

It's been a wonderful trip. Even though I'll admit to not commenting on everything I've enjoyed it. You are a wonderful writer and I hope to see another story from you sometime in the future. Thank you for taking us all on the Journey.
No, thank you!
For writing this epos in the first place.
Without you, your inspiration and your hard work we couldn't have enjoyed any of it. The ups and downs and even the cliffhangers, I enjoyed them all.
So without further ado, I wish you a good time. What ever you're going to do next, may it be a vacation from writing or story about something completely dfferent, have fun!
Again, thank you for giving us this story.
~Smurzek
just finished the final story, It's been a blast, thanks a bunch for the great story! I probably am going to go through it again real soon from start to end!
Damn it.
GJ, I went on vacation and didn't see that you'd posted a new story.
For WEEKS, every time I've hopped on, I've been disappointed and my sadness grew when I never saw a new story to finish the Gravesverse.
And it's been here the whole time....
Welp, I'm going to go binge read.
I'll post my thoughts on it in just a bit, buddy.
On the one hand, I'm glad Rarity and Graves finally settled into the calm, married life; on the other hand I'm sad that the journey has ended. I'm not exaggerating when I say the "The Journey of Graves" is one of, if not the best stories/series I've ever read. I won't go on too much, because I already said everything that need to be said in the PM I sent you a while ago. I will say this, thank you. Thank you for writing "The Journey of Graves," thank you for making me laugh, cry, and everything in between, thank you for giving me a solid story I knew I could rely on to be good each time it was updated, thank you for creating a beautiful romance, and last but not least thank you for granting the literary world with one of the finest character's ever created.
I look forward to your next piece of work. Thank you for this story, it's one of the best on the sight and one of the few that makes me wish that I could interact within the story itself.
(Which is an achievement. Well done, sir.)
It has been awesome, and i am excited for your next amazing piece
You did a very good job. It's my favorite series that I've read to date. I'm probably one of the few people that's glad it's done. But I'm only glad because now I can get to work on a film adaptation. But I don't think I'll be able to fit all this into two hours. I might have to make a trilogy
Does this mean we can read the stories of Rarity?
Possible the stories of their children?
I mean he never said he wouldn't keep writing stories that pertain to this universe.
But it was real pleasure to be along for this ride. Now to point this out to all my friends.
I've loved this adventure so much, I only just had chance to finish the last two chapters this morning and I'm immensely happy with the outcome.
And so it ends.
And I did squee.
No, seriously, I just finished reading 'A New Road Begins' and I honestly squee'd at that ending and at several other points throughout.
I don't know if you read my comment on the blog post you made at the end of 'Journey's End', but I said that it was a hopeless situation and that I couldn't see any possible way that Graves could keep his promise, but that what you had written had compelled me to have faith regardless.
Having read this finale, I salute you, sir. I only wish you were more popular so that more people could have enjoyed it as much as I have. I'll be watching in case you release anything new (and would welcome such with open arms), but either way, thank you for all that you've given us and I wish you well in all of your endeavors.
Oh my...
I've spent a lot of time away from Fim:Fiction due to IRL (booring) and had lost track of everything that was going on with most of the authors I was following. Wow - I can't believe it's been 3 YEARS! I remember stumbling on your fist story and following it for eagerly. I have to say it's been quiet a ride and I look forward to catching up!
Thank you for taking us all on such a wild and crazy journey!
Words just can't right now, finished reading the ending, just gaaaaah, my heart
I loved this story so much, thank you for having written it! I keep the whole thing as a pdf on my phone so I can read it whenever.
Do you have any more plans for epic romance, or anything else for that matter? I want to read more of your stories
3186882 Actually, I do! Not pony related though. After writing The Journey for a while, I thought, "gee, it'd be nice to actually get something published if I'm gonna be writing this much." That's why as of last week, I've been starting my very own original novel with all of the epic romance from The Journey and then some.
No idea how it'll turn out or even if it'll ever get into print, but gosh darn it, I'm gonna have a good time trying.
3187949
let us know when I can buy a copy so that i can use monies for something productive for once
3188015 I have no idea how. It'll probably be years before any sort of print is even imaginable.
3188438 good thing I have nothing but time then *determined face*
3188495 In that case, if you wanna PM an email address, I'll keep it on record and send you a notice on when something happens. If anything happens. You know what I mean.
Silly GentlemanJ! Hasn't anyone told you that
>The ride never ends
What do you plan to do now that the series is done, though?
3333203 At this point, working on original stories. The goal is to get something actually published... someday.
