FAQ UPDATED · 2:20am
Howdy ho, neighborino! Just diddly-dropping by to let you know that I just gave a FAQ a pretty significant update. I added a couple of questions to it, corrected some outdated information (most notably the character tag limit), as well as a lot of miscellaneous corrections. I also completely rewrote both the Story Submission Rules and the Comment Rules. No rules have changed, simply clarified.
Give it a gander, goosies!
EDIT: We are probably also going to be changing/moving/updating/something the Staff thing at some point.

Reading the FAQ ought to be mandatory for all users once a month. And to make sure they actually read it, have a quiz at the end.

It wouldn't necessarily solve the issue, but it would, perhaps, lower the amount of people who don't end up reading it... maybe.

So, does the encoding of the "No Meta" rule in the FAQ mean that you're not doing the "You can write meta, just not feature it" thing?
'Cause I got to tell ya, I'm starving for some circle-jerky in my stories.
Also, since I think this is the first time it's been posted on the site proper and not on the facebook updates, I really don't like the "No First Post" rule. I would like commenters to be able to write "First!" on my stories/updates/blog posts. I think it's cool and funny.
Also also, and this is mostly Dark PJ (Pj-amina?
) talking, but the "Don't be a d*ck" concept, as opposed to the "So long as you follow rules X, Y, and Z, we have to treat you the same as genuinely good people" way of doing business, is counter-intuitive. It's not a question of d*ckishness. The thinking is along the lines of "Any place large enough to have lots of people must work on the principle of free speech."

Is it a good thing I don't even know what circlejerking means, in reference to writing stories? Somehow I doubt it's as enjoyable as its literal counterpart. That and, well, meta... Meh, I won't really miss it.
