    Helloooo!!

Hi everyone! I know it's been such a long, long time, but I'll have you know that I still pop in sometimes! I just haven't been productive. XP If you follow me on any of my social media (I started Twitter last year, too!), yeah... It's weird as hell.

    Hello everyone! Also story update!

Hi everybody! I wanted to first say how sorry I am for having pretty much disappeared for the past several months. There really is no excuse for that at all. The last thing I want to do is disappoint all of you. So, I'm very, very sorry. I'm thankful for all of you that have stuck around! I hope that 2017 will be a much better year!

    Patreon?

Hello everyone! How's it going? :pinkiehappy:

I’ve considered it quite a bit, but I’ve been unsure about the idea. Not because I don’t have a huge following, I would not expect to get a lot! I’m more than fine with just making some loose change. X3

    The Mane Attraction Review

I know pretty much everyone else is doing this, but I'll go ahead and do it too. XP Because I'm a sheep! Anyway, so this episode was indeed Amy Keating Rogers' final episode of MLP. She's since gotten work at Disney, which is pretty awesome for her. It's pretty sad knowing she's no longer writing for MLP, she's been on staff ever since season one! She even wrote The Journal of the Two Sisters!

    The Hooffields and McColts Review

So it looks like we have the fourth use of the Cutie Map in play today! On top of that, it's Fluttershy and Twilight who are to take care of this friendship problem! And it's a shout-out to not only real-life history based on a feud that lasted over twenty years, but also to movies of a similar theme. Interesting!

Make New Friends But Keep Discord Review · 9:35pm May 16th, 2015

These titles are just getting too long sometimes! XP Nonetheless, this is also the first episode of season five that features everyone's favourite chaotic being, Discord!

Let's dive right in and have some fun with the latest MLP episode, shall we?

So our story begins with Discord having tea with Fluttershy, just doing what they always do. The topic of the Grand Galloping Gala comes up, which Fluttershy reveals that she's taking a new friend she'd made, Tree Hugger. Discord is of course quite jealous about this fact, thinking that Fluttershy now wants to spend more time with her new friend than him.

He attempts asking the other Main Six to go with, but to no success. Luckily, he gets a ticket in the mail, so he can attend! However, who does he take?

The night of the Grand Galloping Gala comes along, and it turns out that Discord brought a friend! A gelatinous being known as The Smooze. It seems to have an affinity for shiny objects, even leaving slime in its wake.

Now usually, this is the kind of episode where Character A tries to make Character B jealous, due to feeling neglected or jealous themselves. We've seen this a bunch of times in other shows, with some varying outcomes. This time, however, Discord isn't attempting that. He's actually trying to assert his friendship with Fluttershy to Tree Hugger, as some kind of tactic to get her out of the way.

Upon leaving the Smooze to its own devices, all Hell breaks loose when it expands in size! Nopony can stop it, not even Celestia! What to do? It turns out Tree Hugger has the solution, as she lulls the Smooze to relax with her own incantation. She reveals that the Smooze doesn't respond to magic, but rather, to positive vibes and feeling at peace.

Discord's jealousy comes to a head when he threatens to cast Tree Hugger into an alternate dimension. Ouch! That's a little harsh. Luckily, Fluttershy calls him out on his actions and will not stand for his behaviour. She then prompts him to realize that just because she or he may have other friends, it doesn't mean they'll abandon each other. Discord apologizes for his actions and sets everything right, learning a great lesson along the way.

And so our episode ends with the Grand Galloping Gala continuing on with everypony ready to have some fun.

This episode was quite hilarious! Discord was in top form and just as hilarious a he always is, with John de Lancie getting back into his role like he never left it. It was especially nice seeing him learn a lesson in friendship like he did. It was very relatable and something I think a lot of us have gone through. I've had personal experience with being insecure about my friendships during my life, being jealous of their other friends and like I was going to end up abandoned. So I really could see what Discord was going through.

I can also relate to Fluttershy's side too (what a surprise!). I've also had friends who felt that way toward me, which had me assuring them that it wasn't the case. That I'm not about to abandon them just because I have other friends.

This was a great lesson to learn, and I think it was a good choice to have Discord learn that. He's come such a long way in learning the magic of friendship. Yet he still has a long journey ahead of him. (He's much like Sunset Shimmer! ...I miss her.)

So overall, this was a fun episode! It was funny, it had a lot of heart, Discord was as fun as ever, and there were great moments within it. I especially got a kick out of Maud's cameo! X3

3074160 Oh yes, Maud's cameo and her lines were just golden. XD

Also I know the episode kept saying they were friends but fuck it, lesbian Fluttershy confirmed.
